is it recommended just to stay in taipei only throughout the vacation and travel from taipei to each and every place?

or

staying different place when reaching certain destination?

i will be going end of april and will have around 8days. is it sufficient?

taipei can be completed in 4 days for most of the main attractions. the rest of the days can be used to visit other places.

I'm counting the days to go to Taiwan! Can't wait. Adventure! Food Hunting! Shopping with my gf!

when is ur travelling period? how many days spend in taiwan trip?

To the ladies,

If you like fashion bags, do remember to drop by Skyblue's (天藍小舖 ) shops in Shida Night Market and Shilin Night Market. Not forgetting PG美人网 shop at Raohe Market.

Leggings and pantyhose are also cheap!!! I bought my 180D/200D korean style pantyhose at only NT50 and NT100!

And if you need more luggage bags, you can get the normal ones (no trolley) for NT50 at Danshui Old Street.

IMHO, I think the stuffs at Xi Men Ding are much more expensive than other places (or night markets) in Taipei. If you want clothes, go to WuFenPu (avoid Mondays). If you want shoes and bags, go to the night markets.

Have fun shopping!

thanks for these useful info. i should update my wife biggrin.gif

The lantern place is at Shifen.

I would take public transport (assuming no child or senior citizens travelling with you).

Taipei - Yehliu - Jiufen - Shifen - Keelung Night Market - Taipei

If there are delays, you may only missed Keelung Night Market, but it's okay coz there are many other night markets in Taipei.  tongue.gif
I used only RM1000 for my 6D/5N trip.  biggrin.gif

thats is wonderful! is that purely on everything include accommodation/food/transportation/shopping?
if thats the case i'll budget a bit extra for 2 person around 2.5 - 3k should be more than sufficient?

Ah, it's actually about RM1200 (still got a bit leftover), coz I forgot got ppl sponsor me RM200, hehehe...  rclxms.gif

Yups, everything (well, except airfare) inc accommodation, food, transport and shopping but of course no fine dining or taxi lah...  tongue.gif

We took bus from airport to Taipei Main Station (NT125) and taxi from XMD to airport (NT1000).

I bought the EasyCard for NT500, with NT400 credit (use for 5 days) and I still have about NT50 credit on the last day.

But if you plan to do some serious shopping, then of course bring more lah... IMHO, things and food are cheap in Taipei!  thumbup.gif

should be okay. just that your first day a bit rush. 4 hours flight and then another 2-3 hour train ride. hope you don't burn out on the first day itself.
*
actually i plan stay a night in taipei for first day. but since i already having around 4hrs flight from msia to taiwan, might as well straight board train to hualien. reach hualien have a plentiful of rest before the next day journey hmm.gif

i ask few drivers. usually for one whole day cost around NT$4500-5500 for hualien/tainan/taichung area. for taipei area public transport are easily accessible. driver also cost much lesser which is around NT$3000-3800 range depending on how far the place. all this is based on my research and the quote that i get tongue.gif

up till date i still have not finalise and book my driver and hotel sad.gif
