hhahaha okok will check out the restaurant also and yes we want a candle light dinner  tongue.gif
wah so expensive i got latest rate from Pavillion money changer 10.7, last month is 10.65 but i din change  cry.gif
some top up question;

Shifen & Pinxi <-- where exactly is the lanten place ?

Bali district is fisherman's wrhat ?

and lastly a trip to Yeliu Geopark - Jifen - (either pinxi or shifen which ever is the lanten area) - keelung night market - Taipei

Should we hire a cab or go by ourself since the distance might be a bit far ? fren intro me 1 cab driver charge Rm600 full day no overcharges worth it ? because own transport not even Rm100 i think for two persson but the amount of time to exchange mrt and then bus is the concern...

if you really want to experience other countries a bit more of course its best to use their public transport. go yeh liu with train very straight forward only. from taipei main station take train to Rui Fang station and then just get a cab to jiufen.

The lantern place is at Shifen.

I would take public transport (assuming no child or senior citizens travelling with you).

Taipei - Yehliu - Jiufen - Shifen - Keelung Night Market - Taipei

If there are delays, you may only missed Keelung Night Market, but it's okay coz there are many other night markets in Taipei.  tongue.gif
I used only RM1000 for my 6D/5N trip.  biggrin.gif

thats is wonderful! is that purely on everything include accommodation/food/transportation/shopping?
if thats the case i'll budget a bit extra for 2 person around 2.5 - 3k should be more than sufficient?

Ah, it's actually about RM1200 (still got a bit leftover), coz I forgot got ppl sponsor me RM200, hehehe... rclxms.gif

Yups, everything (well, except airfare) inc accommodation, food, transport and shopping but of course no fine dining or taxi lah... tongue.gif

We took bus from airport to Taipei Main Station (NT125) and taxi from XMD to airport (NT1000).

I bought the EasyCard for NT500, with NT400 credit (use for 5 days) and I still have about NT50 credit on the last day.

But if you plan to do some serious shopping, then of course bring more lah... IMHO, things and food are cheap in Taipei! thumbup.gif

I still cannot believe you spend 1.2kRm for 6D5N,

Rm100 - taxi from XMD to airport
Rm50 - assuming all 6D5N public transport for 2 person
Rm750 - accommodation for 5night

already RM900 = Rm300 makan and no shopping ? dahsyat... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

No lah... My accommodation is <RM400 per person (NT7400 for 5 nights - 2 person/room), RM50 for EasyCard per person, RM50 for taxi to airport per person. Necessity only < RM500 lah...

The rest is for shopping and food lohhh.... tongue.gif

Sorry, can't help you with the bus numbers, I went to Jiufen via train + bus.

Money changers in airport accept most currencies.

If u wanna change SGD in Taipei city, u can do it at ShinKong Mitsukoshi (新光三越) of Taipei Main Station, just that the rate is kinda low.
