Hi all,
Will be going to Taipei early March next year. Is it too early to see the Cherry Blossoms? Where is the best place to see them?
Thanks!

To the ladies,
If you like fashion bags, do remember to drop by Skyblue's (天藍小舖 ) shops in Shida Night Market and Shilin Night Market. Not forgetting PG美人网 shop at Raohe Market. Leggings and pantyhose are also cheap!!! I bought my 180D/200D korean style pantyhose at only NT50 and NT100! And if you need more luggage bags, you can get the normal ones (no trolley) for NT50 at Danshui Old Street. IMHO, I think the stuffs at Xi Men Ding are much more expensive than other places (or night markets) in Taipei. If you want clothes, go to WuFenPu (avoid Mondays). If you want shoes and bags, go to the night markets. Have fun shopping! This post has been edited by Serendipity123: Mar 7 2013, 09:56 AM |

QUOTE(Kelvin5717 @ Mar 8 2013, 10:28 PM) Hey guys about night market in Taipei, what are those reco and not reco ? I like Shida Night Market and Shilin Night Market the best! Confirm going Shilin Night Market, Raohe Street Night Market, Ximending and there are so many others in taipei but im not sure if it worth going ? my girl like pasar malam Gongguan Night Market (公館夜市) Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market (Snake Alley), Wanhua (華西街觀光夜市) Jingmei Night Market (景美夜市) Liaoning Street Night Market (遼寧街夜市) Linguang (Tonghua Street) Night Market (通化街夜市) Ningxia Night Market (寧夏夜市) Shida Night Market (traditional Chinese: 師大路夜市) anyone been to the above please advise Shida, because they have a lot of small shops that sell hip and cool stuffs. Shilin, coz it's big and things there are cheap. Raohe, it's okay, a lot of food, not so much on other things. Though they have the PG 美人网 shop there. You can also try Keelung Night Market after a trip to Jiu Fen. |

QUOTE(Kelvin5717 @ Mar 9 2013, 02:03 AM) added shida and keelung night market Not sure about the others coz I've never been. I was only there for 5 nights.I haven't actually been to Keelung, it was on my to-do list but we were too tired that day. Try googling other night markets and see if it's worth a visit. For me, I think that Shilin is worth a second visit. |

QUOTE(Kelvin5717 @ Mar 12 2013, 12:17 AM) hhahaha okok will check out the restaurant also and yes we want a candle light dinner The lantern place is at Shifen.wah so expensive i got latest rate from Pavillion money changer 10.7, last month is 10.65 but i din change some top up question; Shifen & Pinxi <-- where exactly is the lanten place ? Bali district is fisherman's wrhat ? and lastly a trip to Yeliu Geopark - Jifen - (either pinxi or shifen which ever is the lanten area) - keelung night market - Taipei Should we hire a cab or go by ourself since the distance might be a bit far ? fren intro me 1 cab driver charge Rm600 full day no overcharges worth it ? because own transport not even Rm100 i think for two persson but the amount of time to exchange mrt and then bus is the concern... I would take public transport (assuming no child or senior citizens travelling with you). Taipei - Yehliu - Jiufen - Shifen - Keelung Night Market - Taipei If there are delays, you may only missed Keelung Night Market, but it's okay coz there are many other night markets in Taipei. QUOTE(siauann @ Mar 12 2013, 11:22 AM) I used only RM1000 for my 6D/5N trip. This post has been edited by Serendipity123: Mar 12 2013, 11:41 AM |

QUOTE(siauann @ Mar 12 2013, 04:37 PM) thats is wonderful! is that purely on everything include accommodation/food/transportation/shopping? Ah, it's actually about RM1200 (still got a bit leftover), coz I forgot got ppl sponsor me RM200, hehehe... if thats the case i'll budget a bit extra for 2 person around 2.5 - 3k should be more than sufficient? Yups, everything (well, except airfare) inc accommodation, food, transport and shopping but of course no fine dining or taxi lah... We took bus from airport to Taipei Main Station (NT125) and taxi from XMD to airport (NT1000). I bought the EasyCard for NT500, with NT400 credit (use for 5 days) and I still have about NT50 credit on the last day. But if you plan to do some serious shopping, then of course bring more lah... IMHO, things and food are cheap in Taipei! This post has been edited by Serendipity123: Mar 12 2013, 05:11 PM |

Has anyone stayed around Shilin Night Market before?
I've stayed at XMD this March, for my first visit to Taipei. But somehow I think that staying at Shilin Night Market for my next visit would be better, can shop till late at night and easy to tapau food back to hotel. What do you think? |

QUOTE(siauann @ Apr 8 2013, 01:07 PM) I find the prices at Shilin Night Market are better...I mean, I will still go to XMD for shopping but in terms of food and opening hours, perhaps Shilin Night Market is better. Wanted to know what others think though. |
