126 pages really a "thick book" for me rclxub.gif

However, we need a start no matter how, if we want a cute and beautiful "Green Pet" biggrin.gif

I will try my best tongue.gif

This tank setup has no problem if you put Marimo only, but for neon tetra, not suitable to be in such setup as they required better water parameter, in such small bottle, they cant sustain for long time. smile.gif Thanks

Thanks for your advice. How about if I add a external filtration system?

Lee Yung was righ nod.gif t. Anyway it'll be space consuming to add any kind of filteration system in it. If you were to put external filter on the outside it'll look weird. Your tank goes well with Marimo and a pair of guppy inside without aeration it'll do just fine. To make water changing work easy for you i'd suggest changing those gravel to a larger ones.

There is one way to add filtration without taking up much more space - use an undergravel filter with your air pump.

An undergravel filter is simply a perforated "plate" placed under your gravel. Stick an "uplift tube" into this plate, and place your airstone inside the tube. The upward motion of the bubbles will draw water up the pipe, causing more water to get sucked into the gravel, through the plate, and up into the uplift tube. Filtration!

Note, you'll have to vacuum the gravel regularly as this will become your filter medium. Still, probably better than letting the shit poo fester in your gravel all the time, even without the undergravel filter.

nod.gif Me just suggested the simplest way to keep Marimo to Lily_butterfly. Simple is always better for 1st time Marimo owner. Unless he/she has several experience in rearing fish then it will be different story. Anyway if i were to set up an undergravel flteration it would be at least 3ft and above tank size wif plantation and if possible do some landscaping inside the tank macam Japanese garden & bongsai using Carpet Marimo wahahaha laugh.gif . Aiyah still long way to go before my dream came true lol

Marimo breaking apart and Carpet Marimo they are two different thing smile.gif Breaking of Marimo apart can be due to several reasons, use search button in this thread to get your answer as it has been discussed previously smile.gif Whereas Carpet Marimo is naturally in the form at the first place smile.gif Btw, try consult your seller about the issue you are facing, that is the fastest way for you to get the solution as your seller should be the one who know much more better on his/her selling item including species, quality and etc.

Cool! my idea is something like this link below but instead of using that plant i'd prefer carpet marimo. A little on the ground and rocks but not so much. Growing rate slow so save alot of trimming job. Well cakap senang hor? lol laugh.gif
