Haha, nowadays, people use to fraud and cheat by trying to use other's reputation. I get to know the existence of this LYmarimo because a few members in lowyat ask me about that. Guess what, that LYmarimo is actually a member in lowyat too! but in lowyat he is having other user ID.

Then this fella tried to use the email LYmarimo to imitate and confuse others around. He also copy other photos without asking permission and end up get caught by the photo owner.  Epic Failed. So I have to declare here.

By right it should be able to grow as big as you want.since it grows 5mm per year,it might take very long to grow into huge balls.

Do your marimo carry out photosynthesis frequently and have bubbles on it?
Is it daily basis?

Cause mine dont have bubbles edi..last time got a few(less than 10) when i just got them..

As for the water..should i put in pipe water or filtered water?

I recently bought Marimo too^^
It's from Strapya, Marimo Phone Charm
Wondering, I saw many pictures in Internet that Nano Marimo isn't as small as mine that I bought from Strapya (5mm diametre)
and this is my first time I owned Marimo >.<

Wondering is Marimo 5mm size like mine need more special care? since it's reaaally small
yesterday It's photosynthes-ing..then today it didn't, so I try to change the water, and push it with my finger a little on tissue so the old water getting out, then it starts Photosynthes-ing (pearling) again

Why It didn't photosynthes-ing before? O_o" do I need to press it to let the water out everyday so It can photosynthesis?

but from what i observed...the so call photosynthesis after washing is actually not more than the air bubbles trapped inside the marimo.
Im sure that everyone might have squished the marimo abit to wash out the old/dirty water..but then when we do that,theres some space/air in it which forms air bubbles when we put them back into the water..

So,im not sure if they still photosynthesis or not..maybe they do,but the oxygen formed as a result from it is too small for our naked eye to spot them..

today I see my marimo let out some dirt things (outside the marimo, and some is shredded on the bottom of the bottle)
yes I don't put my marimo in a small bottle anymore.. instead I buy bigger bottle and put it in my 20C air-con room
maybe at night I try to put it in a fridge, but I checked my fridge temperature is 12C..is that okay?

There is one way to add filtration without taking up much more space - use an undergravel filter with your air pump.

An undergravel filter is simply a perforated "plate" placed under your gravel. Stick an "uplift tube" into this plate, and place your airstone inside the tube. The upward motion of the bubbles will draw water up the pipe, causing more water to get sucked into the gravel, through the plate, and up into the uplift tube. Filtration!

Note, you'll have to vacuum the gravel regularly as this will become your filter medium. Still, probably better than letting the shit poo fester in your gravel all the time, even without the undergravel filter.
