You're welcome.

well i am still interested on the RE11A since they are asymmetrical and theoretically, it could offer better feedback/response during cornering due to different/separated tread pattern (and possibly even compound) designs.

but the thing is, Bridgestone eventually went back to directional on their RE71R, probably upon realization they just couldn't develop further/compete better with asymmetrical designs?

purely assumption/discussion purpose on my end here so your feedback after usage would be very valuable.
have you used ad08r before on the same ride/rim etc? if so even better if you can provide us a comparison! biggrin.gif

My AD08R and R1R were both in 195/55/15 last time, this is for another ride.
I've no idea why it goes back to directional but it should be alright as no matter how, it is still a powerful Potenza flex.gif
Have you tried RE-11 before?

Anyway, what size you're in? So far I've tried R1R, R888, 595RSR, FZ201, Champiro SX1, SX2 and also AD08R, and the worst NS2R from Nankang. laugh.gif

atm focusing on 225/45/17 for the inspira; back burner on the 195/50/15 iswara (which is the first time i've tried ad08r) tongue.gif
no interest for Toyo/Nankang tongue.gif

gt radial/federal also on the sidelines as i have bridgestone/dunlop/hankook/kumho lined up to try (which may or may not happen, and will definitely take YEARS since my track only tires have very little wear wink.gif )

2: yokohama sdrive
3: michelin ps3
4: goodyear f1
5: toyo t1 sport

Lets say put the $$ consideration aside.. put the road noise level.. which gives best dry n wet grip ? I only care about grip. haha

Currently running on 225/45/18

sdrive is much more expensive than re003 and f1 hmm.gif

i mean, is both this tyre even compare with sdrive? for ps3 even though its pricey, it is rival of re003

Rim 15x7 et38 fit on myvi 1.5
Michelin ps3 195/50r15
Michelin ps3 195/55r15
Michelin xm2 195/55r15

Above 3 tyres, which one more suitable for myvi? And which tyre have more side wall curve, to give better rim protection against scratch?

Of the above choices, go with PS3 195/55/R15. Why PS3 and not XM2? Becasue PS3 is much better tire/high performance category, while XM2 is just low end econo tire. Why 195/55 and not 195/50? Because it's thicker sidewall so more comfortable, and reduce just a bit the risk of your rims scratch by stones etc because of taller sidewall.

However if you can find 205/50/R15 for PS3 then it would be better coz wider tire hence better protection and size match more for 7jj wide rims. Also since wider tires then better grip. The sidewall thickness is between 195/50 and 195/55 and still >10cm sidewall so still relatively comfortable, and should match your original total diameter closer than 195/55.

Read this article, might give you some hints about some of the best performance tires on the market today, showing that Continental CSC5, Michelin PS3, and F1A2 are among the best out there.
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-t...best-tyres-2015

Now about the RE003, it's much newer tires compared to the others so not yet many reviews on it. It might be the best value for money coz cheaper than PS3 & F1 (it's made in Indonesia or Thailand). Based on limited reviews so far, it's very good in the dry and also very good in the wet at least when new. Main downside is might not last as long (low tread wear rating).

You may also want to check out Hankook V12/S1 Evo2, as these are also often reviewed as excellent high performance tires with price cheaper than CSC5, PS3 or F1A2.

I think you won't go wrong with PS3, F1, RE003, CSC5, or the Evo2, just depending now on your budget vs durability. The other 2 in your choices won't be able to match those above even though they're made in Japan. The S.Drive has not been on the radar in most high performance tire reviews now. Yokohama most of the time put the newer Advan Sport which is higher than S.Drive to go against PS3/F1/CSC5 and often actually also still lost in many reviews, so it's safe to assume the lower & older S.Drive would not be able to match. Now Toyo T1 Sport in most reviews never crack the top 5 like PS3/F1/CSC5. In the review I put above, it's even worse than the economic/cheap brands like GT Radial HPY or Falken FK453.

S.Drive is old Yokohama tire. It won't be able to match the PS3 or F1 or RE003. Read my comments above.

so far i've used before ps3 re002 and f1. so far most impressive still ps3. even with threads well below 50% still grip nicely on dry n wet. most probably trying f1 or re003. im on archilles now. not bad for a super economical tires. can full throttle on genting roads, ofcourse my car no power la. hahaa.. but it lasts me like 10-12k km already well below minimum tire thread edi.

tq for the comment... much appreciated

it really depends on what an individual want.

among the listed tires, s drive have the toughest sidewall with the most responsive feedback upon cornering due to how the treads are designed (being directional, and groove in groove treading similar to Advan Neova AD08R)

the drawback, is pricing, as well as wet performance especially as it wears down is considerably the worst among the list.

dude... takkan u compare 300 threadwear sdrives against 180 threadwear ad08r??? i personally do think threadwear hav big impact on road grips. cause i've seen ferrari lambo's wif pirelli tires of 60 threadwear! hahaha.. i guess changing engine oil=change tires also. XD
