Hi All,

Hope some nice guys can give me some advises... and thanks a mill in advance...

I am going to change 4pcs tyres soon for 17".  I am doing sales, everyday running 100-200km...

I am looking for tyres with below in below priority.
1. Must be comfort as I spend ard 4hrs in car everyday.
2. Must be quiet, i dont turn on radio.. just wanna keep moment of silence.
3. Durable ... can last me ard 80km if possible .. i always bal+allig every 10k km...

My current Goodyear was horrible on noise but very durable, I have been running 90k on them and still ard 10% left....

Was thinking Toyo... then came across Yokohama as well... are these 2 Japs any significant diff?

Cheers and Thanks ..........

your current goodyear which model?
toyo which model? yoko which model? (this was like asking, toyota vs honda which one better? are you comparing city vs camry or, accord vs camry??)

for quiet, best bet go for michelin Primacy 3ST or yoko advan dB i think?

i think the problem is this requirement.

most, if not all comfort tires (soft compound) would not be able to properly last that high of a mileage and even if they do, their comfort/low noise would have been diminished somewhere around the 30-40k km mark.

I second this.

My old CC5 3xk, also...and the noise started b4 that. Maybe it would help if i had follow the regular rotation religiously and the tyres would last longer. For my new tyres, i am definitely rotating them every 10k or 1 year.

Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 looks interesting. Comfort biased, high threadwear rating (500), and not too expensive.

Given comfort over durable I will prefer comfort...

i agree comfort tyre general soft and wear out faster... smile.gif

my GY Eagle i dislike it on the 1st ride itself, d noise is annoying.....

to the sifus, Yoko Advan DB vs Toyo C1S... what would d diff? d price is almost rm100 diff... thanks to all thumbup.gif

then give yokohama Advan DB a try.
Advan lineup is Yokohama's flagship/top of the line, it basically represents the brand (notice some ah bengs sticking huge Advan stickers on their windscreen but don't even have Advan Tires? lol)

Toyo on the other hand would be considered the underdog among Japanese tire brands (along with it's subsidiary Nitto)
If you're on a budget, Toyo won't disappoint either however i firmly believe if you're willing to fork out a little more, Yokohama should offer that little extra that for some, it's a make or break whether a tire meets their expectations or not.

to put in perspective, see how a cheaper low/mid range c drive 2 is beating the toyo on comfort:
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Toyo/Proxes-C1S.htm
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Yokohama/C-Drive2.htm
advan db is yokohama's flagship/high end tire, should be fair to say it is more comfortable/quiet. (the model/product name is decibel to begin with lol)
read the review comments especially on c1s, you'd be surprise (i know i am lol)

quick google/info: http://www.rankingthebrands.com/The-Brand-...92&nav=category
bridgestone is Japan #1 and in fact, World #1.
My favor towards Yokohama is that their marketing throughout SEA/Oceania region is very aggressive and have very competitive pricing compared to the competition.

just curious, your GY eagle f1 is directional 5 or Asymmetric 2? Asymmetric 2 should not be uncomfortable/noisy at all though if it's a D5, it's perfectly understandable.

Thanks a lot on your input bro, i really appreciate it... notworthy.gif ... i will ask my frequent tyreshop if they can get Advan DB, cox they r Michellin n Toyo kaki.. Yoko can try

and my GY is D5... cry.gif .... so u know my pain now..hahaha....... doh.gif ..

apart from comfort the D5 really worth each penny spent, d performace, control, frim grip on rain n sunshine n durability... just tht it fails my top priority, ie comfort....... at 80k km now and still 10% left... giving that i did rotation balancing alligment on every 10k without feel.

You're welcome smile.gif

Well directional tires usually offer better handling, at the expense of lousy nvh. So yea very understandable lol.

Thunderer Mach IV quick review

Needed to replace my Inspira's stock 17" Conti MC5 tyres after 45k mileage and was looking for something below 300.00. Read about Thunderer and saw some mixed reviews. Here's mine.

The 215/50r17 Mach IV model tyres are directional but have a finer thread which make it quieter than the 215/45 which I think most ppl complain about.

I travelled about 800km in total so far and find that it's quite nice to drive. Yes, it's still a little noisier than conti mc5 but not too much. I think after 20-30k kms most tyres become noisy and by then we too sort of get used to the noise.
Highway driving at 130-150km/h was comfortable and tyres held grip well (dry conditions).

City driving with speeds up to 90km/h was also decent but a little bumpy but I think that's due to a but of over inflation and I'm comparing to mc5 which is quite good in that regard.

Im not the type to drive hard and take corners fast so I can't comment on the performance in such conditions. I think it's a decent tyre to get for your average daily driving and long distance driving avoiding extreme speeds (>140kmh). Certainly not the best but good enough if you're not too fussy.
I paid RM280.00 /pc compared to RM 400.00 for the mc5 and so I'm pleased with the savings (for now).

So i'm thinking to change my existing stock tyres on my city'14 .. the existing ones are 185/55/R16 , if I were to change to 205/50/R16 will there be significant road effects added to my ride ? (e.g. bumpiness, road noise)

I found out that two of my Michelin XM2 tires (front wheel) having crack lines.
These two tires purchase at same time and having same manufacturing dates.

Is it normal due to wear and tear or can I claim warranty?

Hi, may I ask anyone know what is the market price for hankook venture 2 concept 2?
I was trade in my 4tyre, all bridgestone. Two used 1year 7mm thick another two used 2 months 9mm thick.
They charge me RM440 for the Tyre. But I realise Hankook was relatively cheap.
