Just changed my 4tyres to Michellin XM2, 185-55-15" rm220 per piece, at HockCheong Penang. FOC alignment, balancing, Powerbank, shld b around 1600MaH only iTunes... wink.gif
But XM2 seems like the handling not as good as PS3... ;(
*
of course not as good as PS3 la. cannot compare like that one ma.
but btw, i think RM 220 for that size is quite good deal, FOC aligment somemore, plus Powerbank thumbup.gif

Mind to share experience using ep150? is it truly eco tyre?
*
well.. the NVH is more or less same as the GY NCT5, which for me is considered quite bad. the lowest noise tyre i've experienced so far is the CC5. not yet tried CD5 & PST3 yet though. The drip and also wet grip is okay enough for me, since i drive normal speed only and don't really whack corners. And for the Eco, i can say that its better than the NCT5. the car can roll further when shifting to back to neutral. Overall i would say i like this tyre.

EP200 should be better than EP150 in terms of eco, NVH, and grip. i get EP150 because there is no size for EP200 for my tyre size. and oh i am comparing here with 165/60R14 GY NCT5 and 165/65R14. btw, Mitsu Mirage & Nissan Leaf uses EP150 as OE tyre.

Friend's Michelin xm2, tread wear 420, why people claim it's performance good? http://twitpic.com/dqdvur
*
bro, maybe the tread wear is not the sole indication on tyre performance...? for example the NCT5 tread wear 240, most ppl on forum claim is very noisy, whereas most ppl claim XM2 is quiet

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 30 2013, 11:14 AM)
how much latheral g force you're able to pull off without banging to a divider with the xm2?
*
when ppl say XM2 good performance.. i'm sure those guys are not extreme petrolheads, they don't normally drive too fast. even if driving fast is only on straight road. if the tyre doesn't skid during normal corner, normal raining slippery road/corner, doesn't skid when hard braking, then, i think those guys (me included) will say its good performance, maybe the actual term should be "good enough" performance. Good enough for normal citizens.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 30 2013, 01:25 PM)
there are many other tires that's in it's own category that could perform better/cheaper/quieter or better nvh.

albeit it doesn't have the 420 treadwear rating for obvious reasons - hard compound is hard compound, there's no way around it.

granted, if you want to directly compare against entry/basic levels, ya sure, it does fair among the best. albeit the pricing of mid range of many other brands which will easily out perform it :/

silent? how silent? grip good? how good?

my point being is that michelin charges a huge premium compared to what it offers. i can understand if it's your top of the line flagship tires (like those Advan series from yokohama, or the eagle f1 series from good year, potenza adrenaline series from bridgestone so on and so forth), but wtf your basic/entry level tire charging as much, if not even more than other brands' mid range tires? welp.
*
hmm... maybe its a way that michelin trying to say that "my entry level tyre is better/on par with my competitor's mid range tyre".. haha.. maybe same reason why ppl buy toyota and bash potong

i think your views are somewhat constrained to treadwear rating and entry range, mid range.

and the above, is an example of some minor attempt at providing facts. not just "OH ITS DAMN GOOD" but how good? no one friggin knows. no one even bother providing follow up feedback/review when they wear their tires down or when shit happens that make them regret their purchase.
*
this is so true.

but gotta admit that tyre is just very difficult for average joe to provide a good or truely objective review because
1) average tyre can tahan for 2 yrs. after 2 yrs, ppl already forgot what the original feeling when tyre was still new like. so mostly ppl's review on their previous tyre is almost worn tyre, compared against another brand and new tyre.
2) not all ppl tried ALL tyres out there. its just too difficult achieve that with each set can last for 2 yrs.
3) when ppl give review after they changed tyre, it is very important to know what's he's previous tyre. for example if he changed from High end to mid range, sure he say the new tyre is lousy. if he changed from lousy range to mid, sure he say the new tyre is good performance.
4) plus factors like different road, different car, different type of driver, different mods on car at different periods. too many variables.

Hi, what is the optimum tyre pressure for 245/40/18 and 265/35/18?
*
i think optimum tyre pressure should follow the tyre pressure sticker at the side of your door, regardless of what size tyre you changed to.

Hi All,

Hope some nice guys can give me some advises... and thanks a mill in advance...

I am going to change 4pcs tyres soon for 17".  I am doing sales, everyday running 100-200km...

I am looking for tyres with below in below priority.
1. Must be comfort as I spend ard 4hrs in car everyday.
2. Must be quiet, i dont turn on radio.. just wanna keep moment of silence.
3. Durable ... can last me ard 80km if possible .. i always bal+allig every 10k km...

My current Goodyear was horrible on noise but very durable, I have been running 90k on them and still ard 10% left....

Was thinking Toyo... then came across Yokohama as well... are these 2 Japs any significant diff?

Cheers and Thanks ..........

your current goodyear which model?
toyo which model? yoko which model? (this was like asking, toyota vs honda which one better? are you comparing city vs camry or, accord vs camry??)

for quiet, best bet go for michelin Primacy 3ST or yoko advan dB i think?
