Can't see tkwfriend punya pics clearly.
But from what i see, the pic posted by chen9wei, printing quality of "Rechargeable Nimh batteries" and "1350 mah" on front and "1350 mah" on the back (at the more energy with 1350 mah part) DOES NOT seem to look like a quality sony product..

user posted image

Also, I suspect there might be a motive in posting super blur pics of the "sony" 2300 mah batteries by some sellers.

Hello to every forumer,

I'm not sure whether anyone here still remember me.
(but I guessed ceo684 will remember me biggrin.gif)

Anyway I was a seller who happened to sell those "Sony" battery and "Sanyo" battery before,
if not mistaken it was somewhere in the begining of June till end of June.

To be honest, I was so naive in the beginning.
I didn't really go in deep to check the quality of the battery whether is fake or original item.
The only input I get was just from the distributor and some information from the internet.
So I assume the stuff I sell is genuine but actual fact there are not.

I was just curious one day, I wrote an email to SONY MALAYSIA and send them the pictures of the battery I had with me.
PROVEN to me, the reply from them, this item is definitely FAKE.
There is no such ways that the product are made from JAPAN
and it been distribute from China.
(Well, I wish I could provide the email here as an evidence, but sadly to said, I accidently delete off the email last month during formatting my hdd.)

After knowing the result of the product that I sell over here is actually FAKE, ohmy.gif
I quickly put a STOP on my trade cause as a consumer myself, I will also wouldn't like seller who lied to me too.
Anyway, I was glad to those buyers who got the stuff earlier from me, blush.gif
are actually very understanding when I told them that the product is not genuine.

So, just my 2 cents point of view,
if you really know the kind of product that you are selling is no longer genuine, quickly stop selling it.
Don't just based on information that provide by your distributor,
they may be lying to you too, inorder to get rid of their product that have with them.
(No offense to other sellers of "Sony" battery) notworthy.gif

Anyway, great thanks to dinster for starting this thread.
I, myself are strongly support this thread too. thumbup.gif

The 2300mAh sony batteries are fake.

How do you tell? The "Rechargable AA" words in black in the orange rectangle visible in the first picture are not aligned.

Secondly, the circular sony stamp is missing.

Thirdly, the packaging is of poor quality (observe the three icons at the bottom left of the package). They are often pixellated or misprinted (economy print).

Fourthly, they weigh as much as a pair of < 1000mAh NiCD batteries of the previous generation..or did i mean era? Extremely light.

Fifthly, the orange color is a tad off on the batteries. The originals aren't as saturated.

Sixth, the black "rounded rectangle" with the rating has poor print. If you observe carefully, the shrinkprint on the batteries are low grade.

Don't be hoodwinked into buying these cheap fakes. They last as long as the price you pay.

I do not say this without prior research. Having amassed a collection of rechargables spanning the past five years, I have bought several pairs of these batteries from various sellers, both from Jalan Pasar and the LYN forums.

While Sony Malaysia will not verify the authencity/fallacy of the make of these batteries, a google search will turn up expexcted results.

Good Day.

Good work guys and gals smile.gif

I am about to buy these Sony Charger and AAA batteries from tkwfriend today. Now, I have decided to stop.

Why are we Malaysia like to cheat?? When you sell fake items... say-lah it is fake SONY, etc. Don't say lah original SONY etc.

This is not ethical at all. You may get someone killed or some houses burnt due to charger malfunction at AC socket. mad.gif

If it is original, may be Sony Malaysia imports (with Sirim sticker) or parallel import of Sony products (without going through Sony Malaysia...no Sirim sticker) then THEY ARE ORIGINAL. Other than these, they are Fake , Imitation or Celup.

If you decided to sell these items without telling us they are not original, then you are not difference from a CONMAN. vmad.gif No one like to be conned. biggrin.gif

Just my 2 sen

Regards
Lim

IMHO, reputable brands place an emphasis on their end product before it reaches the shelves to be sold to the consumer. I'm in the premium business and honestly it's easy to just go and print ANY logo on ANYTHING! and EVEN brands like SONY also order from me premiums and it's all about costs.

However, they do NOT order items which they are proud of to be sold to consumers or given free to their customers, i.e. items which they are specialised in. So if you see a rubber SONY mat well expect it as it is, a genuine gift from SONY but their speciality is not rubber, hence it's not their responsibilty. its just a gift, just like caps, shirts, etc.

As for some items i've seen here in the forum, such as a mini mouse with imprints of certain brands of them well, in my field I KNOW they're not the original ones or they could be it's just that i KNOW that the brand name can be put on the mouse and claim to be original.

In short just check out the packaging. reputable brands spend a lot on packaging to attract consumers.

Fake branded items well their emphasis is to try to be as close as possible to the original brand but they can cut their costs on materials used to make the item and most importantly their costs on packaging which they can drastically reduce.

So just keep a sharp eye on that.
