Excuse my french, but what you were told is total BS crap...!!

Me and my frens have changed the antenna (and some of the even had changed HU and the antenna), to one that extends.... signal reception have improved, but... the drop is still there... this is due to the many weak signal areas within KL thats blocked by the many highrise buildings...

The longer antenna (extendable and is made from alloy outer body instead of rubber) have given the radio "treble" boost, at strong signal area the reception have improved, but come to a weak signal location, the drop is still there, and the longer antenna actually amplifies static sound....

The Clarion has a digital tuner that actually softens the audio when it detects low signal or when more static is detected, that while the audio is softer, there is NO static sound when this happens...

Its a design issue, google it and you will also find the same issue happening to Lancers even in the US. Thus the crap statement of changing the antenna will eliminate the problem, is total BS...

If the car is designed with the shark antenna, its a custom design with a high reception antenna, and the wiring done to match....

The add one ones dont work as the wiring, or the actual antenna are not the real deal...

That is a Satellite radio antenna... the GPS module is not there....

The radio antenna on Beemers uses a trap coil that is usually around the rear windscreen...

My fren, I strongly believe that you belong to the group of ppl that cant tell the diff between slight changes in audio quality.... and that is of no offense to you or is any personal attack to you...

More so that even after you changed to this HU, and you STILL cant tell the diff in audio quality between this HU versus the Clarion HU.... and in case you are wondering, the Clarion HU sounds way better...

I am very sensitive to audio quality changes (I can tell the difference between DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD in a blind test), and most owners do experience the bad reception issue....

Perhaps you indeed is the lucky few that have a exceptionally good antenna with good reception.... bravo and congrats...

Running on Win CE 5.0, with built in Bluetooth (A2DP + phone call + dialing) and GPS software too... optional are the TV antenna for the built in TV function... Also have a reverse camera input and 2 RCA outs, and a 840X400 pixel screen with DVD, and USB playback too... two SD card slot (one for playback, the other for GPS)....

Priced at RM1800+++ depends on where you get it...

I know Putrajaya have tonnes of Inspiras driven by govt officials.... am finding it strange that other fella said he dont see em much there....

Dude.... the added advantage of that HU is the DVD playback and the built in GPS... if that is your top priority, then that unit is worth it then....

One big issue with this HU is the angle of the screen... its way too slanted that (1) rear passengers have a hard time seeing the display on the screen and (2) the screen reflects way too much sunlight during daytime that even the driver cant see the screen that well...

Oh... and you cant switch off the screen at all when its on.... you may find the screen too bright when driving at night...


Another option is Flyaudio, which angles the screen much flatter that the back passengers can see the screen better... but the Flyaudio is arnd RM3200++

Oh... nice blackout screen feature added, this was not a feature in older models...

The brightness adjust i know, but u cant totally black out the screen using the brightness ma.... and isnt it very mafan to adjust and re-adjust each time u wanna use the screen....

I dont have any... i kept the Clarion...

U got a free reverse cam ma... they selling it arnd 150-180 wor... the other fellas had to buy it lor...

iPad SP how much?? the same seller??? I think the Galaxy Tab 7in SP fits better, no... or at least u only need to cut lesser of it...?? hahaha

Yes.. thats the price of the reverse cam with infrared, but most seller selling that at RM250 - 400 (depends on brand) and you got a better camera lor...

The other ones are not so clear at night, and is set at a 45% angle that only sees most of the road and not the other important angles... these ones actually can get at RM90+++ (but sold at RM100 - 150)...

If u can get at same price from him... and its not bothersome for u to help me buy.... can help get 3 pcs for me??

I tot u say yr car dont have that tak tak sound???

When the AC is on, the tak tak sound is when the AC compressor kicks in... i think its the solenoid magnet (or something) being activated to start the compressor... it kicks in every 15 - 1 minute depending on your temp setting...

When u off your car engine... the tak tak sound (not the same, its a slightly diff tone) is the sound of some metal part cooling down....

Its normal... all Inspiras and LGT have it... drive in an indoor carpark with your window down, u will hear it... or simply park and wait outside, u will hear it often....

Yes, the MIVEC engine sound drowns the tak tak sound...

U can try to complain, see what half cooked reasons those half trained mechs tell u lor....

How are you going to drive the audio from the android/galaxy tab to the speakers? The tablet wont have enough power to drive the speakers, or you guys only using the built in tiny speakers for your listening pleasure??

I tried with iPad, but gave up coz it simply cant drive the speakers....

V2 have a more vertical screen angle compared to V1, that is the major improvement... apart from the outlook that V1 has buttons and knobs on the bottom of the screen, while V2 has its knobs on top...

Flyaudio meanwhile have even better vertical screen angle, and a bigger screen.... and while the audio quality is better than V1 and V2, its not as good as any quality branded players out there... FYI, Flyaudio have two AV input thus u can have front and back cam, and its also ready for TPMS (Tyre Pressure Measurement System), thus the extra price you pay is for the added features....

For best sound and quality, get the branded (Pioneer, Kenwood) that comes with GPS module or as add on module, but those will set you back to 5-6K...

As for the reverse cam, as long as your unit have AV in, the unit will detect when signal is active and will switch to display the reverse cam automatically...
