Actually I would prefer to say it is confirmed but afraid to spread things which is internal but at the same time wish to comfort those who worried that Proton might change everything under the hood including myself...hehehehe
*
If you oredi have bought and taken delivery of the car, then no worry ma....

Proton have openly admitted that they have changed the suspension setting, and MMC have given their consent to change it, and have also admitted that Proton have indeed improved the handling....

So, the "news" that your fren hears, while may be true, may not be factual at all.... in fact, I doubt the relationship will sour over something that was admitted and accepted by both party....

If over other matters, then its a whole diff story....

is it you need to push the gear to M (+/-) there, then only can use the paddle shift???

if just on D, cannot use the paddle shift???
*
You finally decided to come in here and ask.... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

All u need to do is double tap the paddle shifter, it will then shift to manual shift via paddle.... to off it, pull and hold the OFF/+ right paddle for a few seconds and it will then revert back to auto mode...

Yes, we know the suspension is tuned to stop the lancer tail happy syndrome but it has become softer and comfy. Some of the owners go to reverse this improvement by putting stiffer springs... sigh. In the end depends on their driving style la...

Proton already changed the battery. So what is stopping them from changing the other supporting stuff? They cannot touch the intake, throttle body, engine block, fuel system, ecu, meters (but they switched the rpm n speed) and exhaust. Other than these... they can eventually localise. This happened in the first proton saga... Initial batches lasted "forever" but later batches were problem prone n full of sounds...

Other parts are all the internal body panels, dashboard, seats (already changed), power window, windows mostly localised, what else? On the hindside, localise means cheaper parts for long term maintenance affordability. MMC windscreen for 2.0 cost a bomb, local 1.8 windscreen cost 1/3 of it.
*
Thus the reason you bought the earliest batch..???

its actualy Air Cool  sweat.gif , yeah.. im not thinking straight, kene poison kaw kaw
*
Dude,

Inspira already comes with security 6mil tint for the sides and back, and 4mil tint for front... which costs arnd 3K if you walk into EcoTint... in fact, just the front alone cost 700....

and you wanna change that for Air Cool...???

Bear in mind that to enjoy the 8 years warranty from Air Cool, they will prolly ask you to remove the existing EcoTint... so u end up losing a RM3,000 tint and then pay RM1400 for a new tint...???

The "cash discount" voucher is a ploy.... go ask other Air Cool outlets, tell them u got other brand discount voucher and ask for their bestest price... u will be surprised that you may even get lesser than RM1400 WITHOUT the "cash voucher"....

I know as i tried... with RM400 voucher from Proton, RM1300... without voucher RM900... u guess where the voucher discount goes to...

Your money your choice...

What is a 6.2 component speaker means??? blink.gif blink.gif

The hole fits 6in speakers if that is what you are asking, but ur installer will need to cut out the paper speakers and re-use the speaker mount... hope he will know what to do when he sees it...

New car no need to polish...spoil your paint only. Maybe after 3 years you can start polishing. Regular waxing for first 3 years is good enough. Now i plan to wax every 2 months...and apply Turtle Express shine every week....very easy to apply liquid.
*
On the contrary, new cars from factory NEED polishing to remove the swirl marks created by the showroom when they polish and clean your car prior to delivery.... look under light reflection and you will see the swirls... mine was full of em round swirls, and had even uncleaned polish stains left on the body...

Only upon removal of these swirl marks do you start on the wax, else you are simply applying wax over the swirls and will make it much harder to remove a few years later....

QUOTE(eone @ Jun 13 2011, 12:49 PM)
Is it safe more FC if I just use manual all the way instead of full auto?
*
Bro, the CVT is primarily designed to save fuel by optimizing the gear ratio to the speed, meaning the speed stays constant but the gears changes depending on condition, thus saving fuel. Normal auto GB changes speed depending on gear ratio, that's the key advantage of CVT GB. Notice that the CVT dont downshift with a jerk when you suddenly floor the pedal to metal, it has a "lag" as the CVT is trying to determine the right gear, unlike conventional auto GB which automatically (pun intended) downshift one gear almost immediately...

To get the immediate downshift, u use the paddle shifters, also known as semi auto (rough layman terms la).... in this mode, the CVT isnt being used for maximizing fuel, its used for delivery of power....

To see if your personal feel (using manual shift) is more efficient that ECU controlled CVT, see what RPM can u maintain when u change gears (and at what speed) when you move from 0-100.... if you drive very light footed (like when u breaking in the car before 1000km), you will notice the CVT remains around 2,000 rpm all the way.... Can ur gut feeling beat an ECU that's made for fuel efficiency??

Do test a full tank of manual gear change vs a full tank of CVT only gear change.... I would love to know the results and be proven wrong.... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

theoretically cvt giving optimum speed at respective gear, however it was learned that inspira cvt still have high FC, like 20cent/km at highway. strange? clear my doubt.
*
The highway consumption is again subjective to driving habits.... me will drive at constant 180++, thus will never get good FC... but then its also never as high as 20sen/KM...

and dude, can u use km/L or L/100km format as your sen/L is way too subjective to fuel prices (RON95 or RON97 or V-Power Racing)... if V Power Racing then 20sen/L is very good FC ma....

Let ckk125 feedback on this, he has achieved 15km/L (if RON95 = 0.126sen/L)... but he was driving it at 90-95km/h on the highway....

So, your high FC statement is really subjective...

Oh yeah, just fixed my skirting. Now back to good mood. smile.gif  Went to one shop, the guy say must go to 'mar kut'(how do u spell this thing) to dismantle and install back...so i go to the place around Lim Kok Wing as recommended...on the way... the more i think, the more it's not logical for me...it's simple stuff only wor! So in the end, i pass by a Proton SC near there and i remember my friend said this SC is good. Just got down the car and asked one uncle. Very easily he fix for me...just have to pull out the plastic thing with a screwdriver/cutter, slot back to the skirting rubber and push back the plastic inside...kaw tim....just pay him RM 5 only...no need to open service report...or will be slaughter by Proton standard labour charges....wakakaka.
Its actually MUD GUARD.... local ppl Manglish it and calls it MarGad... blush.gif blush.gif

Yes, that SC is pretty good, and the uncle that did it for you is Yap, the service manager... i did my 10,000 service there....

btw, driving 90km/h on the highway in this car is very no fun.... tongue.gif ...i read an article somewhere...some challenge to get best FC on Honda Insight....switch off aircond...drive 50km/h and escort by police...(or sure kena langgar from behind)....if want to save FC until like that, better ride a motorbike and go 80km/h.....so sufffering buy car for what?? haha.
*
My fren, even after Fri TT when going home via Federal Highway, i also hit 170-180 at the stretch between Uni Hospital to MidValley, and after Volvo to Kuen Cheng school.... all the time...

Come this Fri TT, at Old Town or Papa Rich in 3Two Square, Sect 13....

Added on June 13, 2011, 2:48 pmWith no offense those hybrid owners out there, the only way to get the FC as advertised is to drive as you say, in ECO mode and less than 60km/h and be extremely light footed.... there is a reason why the "smart" dashboard is color coded in a hybrid, to tell you when you are driving ECOnomically....

If a hybrid is driven as per how we drive the Inspira, the FC is about the same as any full petrol car out there...

oic, maybe i'm wrong, i read the opinion abt inspira at other forum. btw, what are the optimum speed to drive at highway for effective FC? i mean ron 95 of course, if ron 97 no need talk abt FC effectiveness liao.
*
Try driving at 110km/h... your RPM is at 2,200 rpm (for 2.0 CVT, 1.8 i donno)... that shld be very effective without being boring (at 90-95km/h).... blink.gif blink.gif

Again, subjective and not true... Saga 1.3BLM sucks petrol as badly and even exceeds Inspira FC... so how??

Actually, from my past understanding CVT is just for smooth gear transition technology, and not about FCs.... .. tried the sports mode when out for lunch just now, I can change/upshift the gear to produce less rev.. but the system will downshift for you if the rev is to low.. anyway.. its hard to maintain also, back to auto =_=
*
"Since CVT allows a direct link between engine and wheels its fuel efficiency is much better than that of an auto. CVT goes further than this though because it also has an advantage over manual transmission which gives it better fuel efficiency than manual cars. With manuals the engine speed (revs) for a given gear is determined by how fast the car is traveling. Not so for true CVT cars who can vary their gear ratio in order to keep the engine revs at their most efficient level for minimum fuel consumption. "

Plucked from Google search...

Problem is not only I drive fast, I brake hard too, until always ABS light come out (got tunnngs sound on the front then the brake pedal feels vibrating also). So I need better shining disco red lights to let ppl behind me know that I'm braking hard.
Dude... if the fella behind tiong you just as fast, no amount of lights/LED/signs that read "F$#K, I AM SLAMMING MY BRAKES!!" will prevent him from slamming you.... and if this car doesnt, i believe the 3rd car will slam the second which will in turn slam into yours...

True facts... the 3rd car always starts the chain reaction in an emergency brake situation...

So, apart from being the brightest car during the actual braking process... it does little to prevent accidents... hahahah...

Still... its your choice.... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I need to reply you too...

As bro ckk125 said... your filter box NOT fitted properly.... your car will sound like turbo (or lion roar) above 2K RPM... use your hands to "shake" both sides... u will discover the bottom is loose... a properly fitted box will not have two parts loose...

The mech did not clip and properly fasten the BOTTOM... its a pain to align and lock the bottom... most will only lock the top and due to the gap at the bottom... ur engine sucks unfiltered air from the bottom into the engine... PLS RECTIFY IT IMMEDIATELY...

You can DIY, remove the two top clips... then take out the filter (remember the direction of the filter)... then use both hands to align the left side to hook to the right side... once hooked properly, it will stay... then carefully insert the filter, making sure it doesnt dislodge the bottom again... and finally lock the top...

No need pics... just unlock and u will see how to lock it back... esp the bottom...!! U cant see the bottom without taking off the top....

That;s your O2 sensor, and if you screw it up, your engine will loose power and you need to replace the part....!!

Your Inspira fully assembled and made in Japan ka???

Pls dont be another basher for the sake of bashing.... the local made Locktact is made equally good and strong, they copied the designed and its made locally.... I have checked the metal parts and they are the same in thickness and size... i didnt knock the metal (typical Malaysian mentality) but i am satisfied its as good...

Oh... the immobilizer functions the same as the "better" thai version....
