Ahh someone that plays BFV.. a salute for u. Anyway crashing to windows could be from couple of things : corrupt Direct X, pc spec less than minimum, and trouble regarding cd read. Ur pc can play BFV no prob (mine was around that range when I'm on BFV), so I guess its the other minor things. Andlike scay said, try get newer drivers for ur vid & soundcard.

have a AMD X2 here, have crash to desktop problem, before this i was using AMD 3000+ and running fine, just after turned to AMD X2 it wont run.

b4 this i was suspect that my Folding@Home got issue with the OpenGL is lock and BF2 unable to access it and crash, but i remove it and use console type Folding cliend also make no good

after that i google some site and found out that there is issue with Dual Core CPU on some game and one of the game is BF2.

follow all the troubleshooting guide also make no good.

finally i will try to fix my Vsync thingy @ the monitor refresh rate and see how's its going.

anyway i have no problem with playing other game like Battlefront 2 and Silkroad ( MMORPG )

1) Original BF2 have 3 army. USMC, PLA (china) & MEC.
Special forces(SF) focus on Special force army like Russian Spetsnaz, US SEALs, British SAS, Insurgent & rebels.
SF maps tend to focus on urban warfare but less aerial action compare to the original. SF got few extra toys such as grappling hook, zipline and my fav mustard gas.

2) You need the original BF2 to play SF. Majority of people still sticking to vanilla BF2.

3) No monthly fees to play BF2 online & you need a broadband line for smooth play.

4) The game is a resource hog but not to extreme like the new Ghost Recon game..bah!, CPU above 2 gig (minimum) atleast 1 gig of ram & direct9 capable video card. Loading game takes awhile unless you have 2 gig of ram. Feel free to let us know you pc specs before buying BF2.

5) Why don't you give BF2 demo a spin before buying the full version.

anyone else wanna add to bengang13?

From TotalBF2 forum,

Manually Update PunkBuster: Punkbuster is supposed to update itself, but it always doesn't. I would suggest that you download this Punkbuster updater and run it every once in a while.
