QUOTE Community Update - 5/25/06 Attention Soldiers and Server Admins! After a thorough investigation into the issues plaguing the server browser after the 1.3 Update, we believe that a last minute update in the way the Battlefield servers and Gamespy servers communicate may be the cause. We have decided to revert this change in an attempt eliminate these browser issues. Please note that no uninstalling or re-installing is required by players or server admins. All servers currently running must be restarted once this change has taken place. Please also note that if you are experiencing CTD issues upon start up that any alternate-ranking redirections in your windows "Hosts" file must be removed. The reversion will occur at 2:00 PST. We are continuing to review other issues players have noted with 1.3. Further updates will be posted to this space as they become available." Thank you, /The team at Dice and EA What "Hosts"? file? |

oh well guess I'm going to have to try downloading the entire farking 1.3 full patch AND reinstalling the game.
defragmenting didnt help. deleting the bf2 folder in my documents didnt help. setting refresh rate to 60 didnt help. closing all background didnt help. manually updating punkbuster didnt help. using latest forceware version (84.21) didnt help. Sial la EA. Singple player works fine and even loads up better without lags. But I WANT MULTIPLAYER! To make the whole experience complete, xfire's download network is down. Btw how do I find out what version is my bf2? It's something in the console command right? THe only way I know is when the incremental patch rejects my version and says xxx is required. GUys, for the incremental patch.. you need to have ALL the previous release patches..
it will not work if you even skip one patch.. thus the best option for non-regular gamer. is to downlaod the full 1.3 patch.. |

QUOTE I have had no trouble when I removed BF2 using the EA manual instructions... To delete the save files: Open My Documents. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. To delete the game files (in the default location): Open My Computer. Open the C drive. Open the Program Files folder. Open the EA GAMES folder. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. Close all open windows. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin. To edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2: Click on the Start button. Click on Run. Type regedit in the text field. Click File and then choose Export. Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All. Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window. Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Click the plus sign next to Software. Click the plus sign next to DICE. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete. Click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts. Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2 folders. Click the plus sign next to Microsoft. Click the plus sign next to Windows. Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion. Click the plus sign next to Uninstall. Right-click on the key named {04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B} andchoose Delete. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes. Close the WindowsRegistry Editor. Battlefield 2 is now completely removed from your system. then I reinstalled BF2 disc and 1.3 patch FULL version 400+ MB hope everything goes ok now update: yeah everything is more or less okay now.
