Just want to ask something.
In multiplayer, there's this large size map, can have up to 64 players.

Now when I try it, between finish loading and going into the game itself, lots of HDD activities, had to wait so long unlike single player...probably sign of low system ram, file swapping.
And after playing awhile, the game crash and terminates with a memory error message..

so how much ram does it consumes in these large map? do u guys get this memory error as well when memory is not enough?

i have 1024MB RAM btw...

i'm also using 1gb of ram.
no prob so far, had that prob with only 512mb ram tho.

maybe its your virtual memory. Did you only recently upgraded to 1gig of ram? If so, you have to set a higher virtual memory for windows to use.
Make sure its more than the recommended setting set by windows.

You mean with larger system ram, need to increase the size of virtual memory as well?
All this while I though the virtual memory can be reduce with more real memory
I think currently its at 512MB. Hmm....maybe I'll try increse to 1G and see what happens...

usually ppl put virtual memory at 1.5x your ram amt.

First time firing up BF2? or just recently having this problem?

looking at your pc specs, your machine should easily run BF2 with high settings. First thing first is your hardware drivers are up to date? expecially the video card.

If its still crashing back to desktop, try to tonned down the the video settings at the game option. If you have the settings previously at all HIGH scale back abit to MEDIUM or even LOW to troubleshoot the problem. Try lowering the game resolution, maybe disabling the ingame AA or AF. Play around with all the setttings option.

playing singleplayer with d setting high up. no problem..
on kick back to desktop when joining online multiplayer.

driver everything should be up to date gua..
just got my PC formated last week. and everything setup.

eh.. set eberything to lowest resolution possible.
still can log in.. same thing.
done portforwarding 16567 UDP as well. same.
ping down to 60-100 plus. thats all.

i've update my BF2 to 1.22
but in game it show 1.1.2720-552.0
izzit correct??

Yes 1.1.2720-552.0 should be the correct version.

Shot in the dark here:-

1) make sure to enable punkbuster at BF2 ingame browser (near the bottom)
2) if you using image file to play BF2, try playing with the cd.

nope...reisntall d patch or whole game? but can only play SIngle player.

HD d game was install? should have plenty... should hav more than 30Gb free gua.

didnt check. should be around 1Gb or more...check later tonite.

last tim when i had my 9250 , the prob was solved by reinstalling bf2

but cant guarantee anything

patching succesful.. but dun seems can join any server..
either being kick by server admin or ask me to revert my version...
guess i've to wait for a while n try again later...
any other server u guys did play with new patch???
