Hi,

Well i am a real skinny guy, and have been consuming weight gainers 3 times per day for whole 8 month and only increase 1kg.

Does weight gainers really helps? OR is it due to each individuals absorption rate is different?

Perhaps trying out other formulations can help.. like WAXY MAiZE form or whatever...

Bored of drinking ....... no result....... icon_question.gif

jlo8246: Are you sure you're eating a lot?

http://pussyweights.blogspot.com/2009/01/n...rkout-diet.html

This was what I ate when I was hitting the gym hard. I don't do it any more though but it does give you an idea of how much you should/could be eating.

Added on May 2, 2011, 11:42 pmI think more importantly is eating throughout the day, not packing all your meals into one big meal.

basically all of your protein source come from supplements
you rely too much on whey and weight gainer, they aint any magic pills
protein is just purely a formulae to repair your broken muscle tissues
fyi, whey have around 100-200 kcal only, the calories input vs output at the end of day determines you whether grow, vice versa

eat more my friend,if you want to grow
more eggs , tuna,chicken,steak,real food!

Breakfast is ok. Don't take weigh gainer before sleep. take it after you workout.

BTW how many scoop do you take the weight gainer? I suspect you don't take enough serving.
Pls tell me what weight gainer did you use and how many scoop did you take?

A lot of people here are anti-weight gainer while I’m not. Since gain weight and muscle require enough calories, you need to take weight gainer in smart way.
I understand that we all not an athlete, working 8am-5pm or more. BZ with family so eating a solid food all the time might be a problem. Sometime we have to skip lunch because of our bz world. That's why we have to choose the weight gainer. Don’t worry about others, the important is you.
So important to me to know your type of weight gainer to determine whether you are taking enough serving or not. Then I can teach you how to take weight gainer.

If you are beginner, don’t train like bodybuilder.
You need to know that bodybuilder train for symmetry, not strength or power. Their do isolation to target on specific muscle. Did you see skinny bodybuilder? Nope they are not skinny. They are big already. But how about you? You are skinny. So beginner needs strength and power, because with strength and power you can lift heavy weight. When you lift heavy weight your body will growth to adapt the weight stimulus. This is what the beginner needs.
So what is the exercise for strength and power? It’s Starting Strength-Mark Rippetoe. He is very popular at US as a strength coach. The program is simple and yet effective.

BRO, as i am in this trade so i have the option to try out all this supplements and also compare the effectiveness of each individual products from mass / creatine /glutamine/aminoacids/ whey/ BCAA / testosterone supplement / Nitro - O . But the main things is does this supplements really helps or the main factor is to consume solid food , the real hard food i.e .. whole chicken a day, half pound of red meat per day, fish, brown rice, grains, wholemeal bread.. Less oil, less sugar, no fried stuff that kind of diet plan.

Help me... icon_question.gif , done with the skinny appearance for the past 30 years..

Perhaps is the way i stack my supplements with food or the schedule is all f**k up...

Supplements as the name implies is just an addition bro,you can take a lot of supps but without the basic building blocks it won't work.

Eating clean is tough but in your case you can eat halfway clean and you'll be fine, start to eat more meat and take in carbs also.

You really need to start supplying fuel to your body, additives will speed up the process only.

The thread starter has not listed down his/her training intensity and methods yet.

I trained with a trainer for three months, had taken only one tub of gainer so far and increased mass of 8kg.

And of course, having good quality food six times a day helps.

Too bad I'm in work now so only 5 times a day is possible. I would try my best to sneak in another meal there in the morning. smile.gif

They gave me a very scary stare. When training intensively, one tends to gorge as well.

As I'm working in a university now, I do not have much money to spare for the supplements, so had to depend on food. Yes, I bought supplements, but not from GNC, and my trainer recommends the other brand.

Dunno much about weight gainers. But the fact that most if not all of them have in common is the crazy amount of calories they pack in that stuff. Somehow, doesn't look that all appealing to me. Saying that, I know a lot of guys who swear by them. So there you go, I suppose you could try a few, see if works for you.

For me, I'd go for eating well, enough rest/sleep and train hard would give you results (in time)
