Dude it's really one of the risk of buying outside of market availability. As far as I'm concern people who imported the ipad 2 like you are the ones that created the shortages of ipad 2 in the US which forced me to order online in the first place.

My advice is to call around la those stores that sell apple products and ask them about the refund (max. 2 weeks) or replacement.

I think i cant request for a refund anymore since i bought mine 3 weeks ago...

Btw....can i request not to exchange for a refurbished unit when i take to the apple shop to claim the warranty tongue.gif

I'll bet on black color to have no light bleeding. Who agree?
Coz iPad 1 no light bleeding because its black.

Though I google some black color still got light bleeding. Probably its less % for black.

inb4 gogo2 trying to make people buy black so that gogo2 can get white iPad 2.

Until you know iPad 2 white is having non light bleeding issue, most probably it's already running out of stock. You'll joining me waiting for the next batch then. smile.gif

To some it's an issue and to others is not.
At first I didn't really mind but casual watching movies at night makes it annoying that it's there.

Bought it at such a price an I'm getting it something like this.
FYI to others mine is from Paris White set kena.
My sister black from Australia also I having te same problem.
I really envy those who had no issue whatsoever sad.gif

Precisely, that's what in my mind as well. After paying our own "Hard-Earned" money, I demand a new proper conditioned unit rather exchanging a reburbished unit as I mentioned earlier. It's ok for someone who can get along with the problem and live with it, anyway it's your own money and you make the decision yourself. Since my wife will gonna use it to watch movies in the bedroom with lights off, it will going to be obviously distrating if there's some light bleeding on certain edges. I doubt the problem only applies to white colour iPad, in fact it seems to be applies to both Black and White as well. ATM, just stick with my iPad 1 first till there's news of newer batch of iPad2 comes into our shore.

I did a bit of googling. Apparently the ipad 2 screen is secured to the front glass panel with adhesive as comapred to the ipad 1 which was held together by clips. So these light bleeds are caused by the adhesive not curing entirely leaving openings that for the back light to go thru the cracks. But it wont get any worse from what i read. So if u get a unit with minimal light bleeding ur better off keeping it rather than risk getting another unit that is worse. Expect the 2nd batch of ipad 2 manufacturing to fix this issue i guess.

For those who followed my case in another thread, I have an update. I managed to get my ipad 2 replaced again. This time with a completely NEW one with the white box shrink wrapped and all.

At first I was planning for a refund like I said yesterday. I told the sales rep that if I don't get a completely new one then I want a refund. So he went into the staff area and came out about five minutes later with a new ipad 2 still wrapped in box.

So I decided to replace and the best thing is my refund policy is extended another 2 weeks! I still haven't checked for light bleeding yet, probably tonight. If it's still there I have another 2 weeks to repeat the same process. LOL.

It's always been black. I don't like white. Looks cheap and almost like a picture frame.
