Mine is almost same with the picture posted by TS...

I had asked many times around where should we bring our ipad 2 to in Malaysia for this light bleeding problem?

Wish to request for refund because if request 1 to 1 exchange will only get a refurbish set...But I doubt that since when refund is available in Malaysia....? How if my ipad 2 is bought from US?

Thanks.

Dude it's really one of the risk of buying outside of market availability. As far as I'm concern people who imported the ipad 2 like you are the ones that created the shortages of ipad 2 in the US which forced me to order online in the first place.

My advice is to call around la those stores that sell apple products and ask them about the refund (max. 2 weeks) or replacement.

I'll bet on black color to have no light bleeding. Who agree?
Coz iPad 1 no light bleeding because its black.

Though I google some black color still got light bleeding. Probably its less % for black.

inb4 gogo2 trying to make people buy black so that gogo2 can get white iPad 2.

it doesn't matter if it's black or white (MJ song).. mine is black and still got bleeding all around the lcd..

For those who followed my case in another thread, I have an update. I managed to get my ipad 2 replaced again. This time with a completely NEW one with the white box shrink wrapped and all.

At first I was planning for a refund like I said yesterday. I told the sales rep that if I don't get a completely new one then I want a refund. So he went into the staff area and came out about five minutes later with a new ipad 2 still wrapped in box.

So I decided to replace and the best thing is my refund policy is extended another 2 weeks! I still haven't checked for light bleeding yet, probably tonight. If it's still there I have another 2 weeks to repeat the same process. LOL.

It's always been black. I don't like white. Looks cheap and almost like a picture frame.

Just check the one I just replaced, still have light leakage but a lot less severe i.e. not that distracting while watching videos.

The discussions in other forums is that the serial number where the forth alphabet is F (meaning first quarter batch) will have a high chance of light bleeding.

The second batch which should be the second quarter starting in may will be the new batch. So I'm gonna try my luck again in two weeks. At least I get a new ipad 2 every two weeks. haha..

The refund policy is two weeks for Apple devices so long as you don't damage it and no engraving. I went to the Apple Store for a refund after my first replacement turns out to have light bleeding also. The first replacement I got was a refurbished set.

So I told them unless they replace me with a new set still wrapped in white box, I wanted a refund. They replaced mine with a new one because it was still within the 2-week refund period. My 2-week refund period was also renewed after getting the new ipad 2.

Turns out it still have light bleeding though the latest one was less severe. I will repeat the same process again before my 2-week period expired. Oh btw, all the colours are black, I really don't know why gogo2 insisted that only white has light bleeding problems. I even encountered black ones with a dead pixel.

I encourage anyone who has a problem with their ipads to call Apple customer service and make a report. It seems everyone just swallows Steve Jobs' cum and accepted the defects. Apple has yet to make any statements about the light bleeding defects which I assume because not many people bother to make a complaint.

After LG screens for the iPad 2 exhibited issues with light leakage at launch, Apple shifted most of its touchscreen purchases instead to Samsung.

Samsung shipped four million 9.7-inch panels for the iPad in the first quarter, according to DigiTimes. That total put it ahead of rival LG Display and made samsung the largest touchscreen supplier for Apple.

LG only shipped 3.2 million units in the quarter, as there was a light leakage problem with panels produced at the company's sixth-generation production lines. Sources told the Taiwanese publication that LG has addressed issues with light leakage, and "shipment momentum" is expected to return to the company in the second quarter.

After the iPad 2 launched in March, some users reported issues with light leaks and yellowing on the tablet's 9.7-inch display. Some early iPad 2 units showed light leaking onto the screen around its bezel when displaying a dark image, sometimes referred to as a "flashlight effect."

Apple experienced crushing demand for the iPad 2 after it debuted, and has continued to struggle in restocking units. Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook referred to the situation in his company's quarterly earnings conference call as "the mother of all backlogs."

He also admitted that he wishes Apple could have produced a lot more iPad 2 units, as the company sold every device it managed to manufacture following its launch window. But he stopped short of confirming any specific component issues or shortages in the manufacturing process.

"Demand has been staggering, and I'm not going to predict when supply and demand will come into balance," he said. "I can only be confident on the supply side.

It seems that the faulty LCD's were produced by LG. This really pisses me off. From now on I will boycott all LG's products. By the way I just refunded my ipad 2. Will buy again when the money is successfully debited back into my account.
