Thanks avfan, i will try again but so far my attempt fails. The reason of mirror is to watch astro on the go in ipad.
*
u mean play astroonthego on ipad, then mirror on the tv?

no need to do that - u can install the astroonthego app on q6! the app is in playstore.

too bad dude.. gotham is worthy upgrade
1) audio passthru.. no need to process by player, player on focus process video
2) hardware decoding.. faster than software decoding

if the network allow i think playing 1080p with 5.1 is not a big deal for himedia.. since local player already capable to do so

i think is a great performance improvement dude.. but sadly

I'm using that now, cheap and good.
If you can read Chinese, you can go their forum and flash custom firmware to add functionality to support Dolby, ac3 and so on. That's mean same with q5ii but price a lot cheaper

Get your live TV ready in XBMC and share it if you found any channels could watch FIFA 2014.

with scanty news, i seriously start to doubt if there will be channels that will carry all 64 matches live.
maybe selected, delayed, highlights...?

with only 7 days to go, wc2014 fans shud explore options outside xbmc and rtm1/2.

this is one possibility, may or may not carry a cost depending on specifics. the gud news is it does work on himedia android 4.2.

my gf cannot read chinese so just asking does it have anime, korean, etc tv shows that have english sub
*
this machine comes with plenty of chinese and some korean stuff, from the fimware/pre-installed apps... but... with chinese subs only.

eng subs for chinese and korean stuff are only done by western parties, some can be found in xbmc apps, e.g. azdrama but is limited. moreover, xbmc is not something simple - need time and effort to get it to work, pls read:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3139601

if one has no idea what an androidtv box can and cannot do, one should not simply buy one even if a seller say, "yes, got korean eng sub stuff". best to read up first...

Hi AVFAN,

i have been using 12.2 hi player & 12.3 but still encounter crash problem.
It not sudden crash but take time 5-15minutes in the movie (stream or HDD), so annoying..
tried gotham before but once you start stream or play, xbmc will crash straight away.
any help?

my FW 1.0.6(q5II emmc)
tq

my experience... hiplayer 12.2 or xbmc 12.3 with hiplayer's modified advancedsettings.xml added do fine, good.

but all that is probably moot since u got gotham 13.1 working good! thumbup.gif

note the crashing can happen due to too low/unstable broadband speed or the link is simply bad.

i get a crash occasionally with unifi 10mbps speed.

Hi Neooren,

If you go into settings and in the left column click on video.

Scroll down to the bottom and set the page from standard settings to advanced or expert settings.

The menu should show the acceleration option. Click the mediocodec radio button to off.

I think it is a known issue in xbmc that live streaming videos with acceleration, the videos cut off at 10 to 15 mins. At the moment the only way to solve is to turn off the video acceleration in settings.

I am able to watch videos with librastagefright activated without any video cutoffs.

Hope this helps.

Hi AVFAN,

In reply:
1) No tweaking of advancedsettings.xml needed.
2) For myself all smooth and no crashes (with mediacodec acceleration settings disabled)
3) For myself, no lags streaming 720 or 1080.
*
tq so much for the tip. thumbup.gif i missed this acceleration turnoff when i last tried the gothams!

i just tried gotham 13.1 that way, and yes... it seems to work good. tested a few links, seems stable. 720/1080 works w/o lagging. only problem i found was if you set audio to passthru, the tv audio (hdmi to tv) will crack while digital audio output to (my old non-hdmi) avr gets dd/dts. tv audio won't crack if set passthru to off but that way, avr gets analogue audio. not a big problem but hiplayer 12.2 did not have this issue. not an issue i believe if hdmi-avr-tv.

i checked the xbmc.org folder and there is no advancedsettings.xml file. looks like gotham works a little differently from frodo. will need to read up on gotham soon...

gotham working good after i follow tutorial from juniper -disable acceleration thingy before that it will crash straight away

if play 1080 file got lag and the video will freeze if used seeking/FF,
normal play w/o seeking/FF all good

right, if acceleration not disabled, it wont work at all!

hmm... i tried both 720 and 1080 links, no lag...

ff... havent tried but when i use the mouse to click forward, ok also - this is good, hiplayer 12.2 can't do that for 720/1080, can only do for sd links.

btw, do you mean playback/stream xbmc links or like some peopl to do - playback media files from usb with xbmc??

also, what speed r u on?
