Btw guys.... Q10 pro existing on 5.1, received OTA to update to Nougat but very quickly that the data will be wiped. Does this means all the app and Kodi settings will be wiped clean?

Yup... A data wipe means a full wipe. Only system installed apps and settings will remain... Do a Kodi backup, store off the box and wipe away. Can reinstall and restore after the firmware update is completed.
Reads like firmware related. Tried a clean flash? Not factory reset.

So my attempt to move to Kodi 17.1 and update the backup using Ares failed on both Nexbox A95X running on Android 6 and Q10 Pro running on Android 5.1

Attempt 1
Existing Jarvis, then update to 17.1 using Play Store. After updating, Kodi refuse to load up, just dark screen

Attempt 2
Deleted Kodi entirely then install thru Play Store. It does load. This is followed by installing Ares and restore using the backup. Once done and do force close. Upon launching Kodi, it then hangs and goes into dark screen again.... Knnccb

firmware update? i thought its updated to latest as i usually do the online update option and the box says there is no latest update.. still on android 4..

what does the OTA indicate? is it 2.0.1 or 2.0.3?

if q10 pro is on android5.1, u must first move to android7 with firmware 2.0.1.
if u jump straight to 2.0.3, there will be problems.

i started with 2.0.1, installed kodi17.0 from playstore, fresh build.
it auto updates to 17.1 when it was available.

i have not tried firmware 2.0.3 since the changelog does not have any interesting change that affects me.

It's SIL device, anyway didn't snap which firmware. I didn't update as well, maintained Jarvis for now

yesterday. just find back my Q5ii old andriod 4.2.2 unit. hahahaha i thought to throw away but try to install kodi isengard & live iptv work like charm. hahahaha so can give to my parent as this unit obsolete already.

question. any possibility to upgrade kitkat 4.4.2? try look in futeko but can't find it. any advise.

i have one of these too, a non-emmc.

>5 yrs old... final firmware was 3 years ago, no chance to get to 4.4.2.

slow compared to newer models, but it is still good for most apps.

i am using it mainly for playback - 1080p, bdmv's, dtshdma, ddtruehd.

just can't do 4k, hevc, 10bit.

i think my unit also firmware end to 4.2.2. lucky still can install kodi with iptv. else this box useless.

dual core, 4.2.2 is the android version.

the final firmware for q5ii non-emmc is 1.0.8, for q5ii emmc, it is 1.0.9.

useless? all apps incl kodi works on it!

old chipset limitations... only kodi 16.1, 720p only.

other apps incl china ones, 1080p can do.

playback hd audio... some new boxes can't even do dts/dd!

but small memory... it is slow and sluggish... compared to new ones which are much faster.

Is it available from outside the US? If No, you'll need VPN to access it tight?
