From the above seems like the exchange rate is different for the same card on the same day on same currency - USD rclxub.gif

Forex rate from Al-Rajhi counter at KLIA on 08-Apr-2012 : KRW10,000 = RM33.00; worst than both the cards above

Normally Master rate is better than Visa rate, but SCB admin charges is higher than MBB. So I guess the best forex rate can be obtained through MBB Master. But for MBB, are there any difference for the rates between different MasterCard - Gold, Platinum, M2 Platinum, World?

I posted in 2009 in my blog that for my AMEX card, I did 3 transactions at Universal Studios LA minutes apart (because of some discount thingy for certain amount if not mistaken) and all 3 transactions different rates.

That's quite a competitive rate, in my opinion as most money changers were selling AUD around that figure too yesterday.

yeah, money changers in Melaka was selling ~3.145

add: maybank visa fee is between 1.0 to 1.5% now, not 0.5% anymore. I wonder if other banks are having the same increase too.

If you have not used up your weekend 5% rebate, then MBB2 AMEX is the card you should use. Do charge to your card after 2pm today. Any transaction done through Paypal before 2pm today will be recorded as transaction made on Friday.

This is because it follows Paypal's USA HQ time. So you have to do it at 2pm or after. Just to be safe, do it after 2pm biggrin.gif

Japan - My cash exchange:
Somewhere between 17 or 18 May
YEN: 157,000
MYR: 5,981.70
Exchange Rate: 38.10

But during my trip in Japan from 22 May - 1 June, exchange had raised to over 40. So basically I lose out by using card.
Still got YEN10,000 which based on FX increased, earned around RM20. But not planning to change, leave for next trip in the future. wink.gif

Still puzzled on how the exchange rate was charged. Be it Transaction date or Posting date, also can't seem to reconcile. Or was it based on actual time it got (1)Transacted OR (2)Posted?!.... rclxub.gif
Seems to me more towards transactions date instead of posting. Because looks more closer.

Logically it should be based on posting date. But if you look at my statement.... very weird. Should I call and ask them to explain?... hmm.gif

Hi guys,

I need advice. I plan to get a credit card mainly for overseas online transaction. From the first post, it stated that Maybank has the lowest admin charge of 0.5%

However the previous pages showed that the charges are now around 1%.

Should I continue to get Maybank CC? Did the admin charge increase?

Thanks!
