QUOTE Thank you for your reply. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply.
With regards to your port availability for 4Mbps service, upon receiving feedback from our respective department, please be informed that the Streamyx port availability for 4Mbps service will be available on 31st December 2011
last time enquiry, they replied me that the port maybe available at end of Nov, so I email them asked again on Nov 23, today got reply from them, this time give me port availability date, dunno is real or not but better than nothing there's a little hope I can apply something faster than current 1mbps, I better pray now, but don't expect too much la, haha I'm really sick of using 1mbps speed for 5 years This post has been edited by squall0833: Dec 11 2011, 03:51 AM

QUOTE(iipohbee @ Dec 9 2011, 02:52 PM) A simple example would be your home gateway router at home. Assume you have 2 users connected to the same home gateway one with wired and the other on wireless. Disregard any QoS settings in place. If both starts downloading from a same server, which would be more stable and faster on average? Which would most likely occupy the WAN(internet) bandwidth more? oh okay, thanks for the clarification think I'll be going for unifi.

Just got a quick question, not sure if it was answered before (loong thread). Currently I have 1 Mbit, sometimes the connection is really slow (streaming video from Europe), doesn't even get close to 1 Mbit. Would 4 Mbit help? I guess it won't, but perhaps they will give me more of the limited bandwidth? Mhhh...
Could get unifi here, but the cap... bandwidth usage for this month is 60 GB so far, still 2 weeks to go. Who knows when they will start implementing the cap, and with a 2 year contract I'd be totally screwed. But then again 5 Mbit upload is super tempting... I do my backup online... with unifi it would be done in no time, rather than a few months...

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Dec 16 2011, 10:08 AM) Morning. My streamyx gone today.
Using Maxis BB 6GB now.
Hmmm....slow and not as lightning fast as Streamyx Web page loading.
PS: Should have took U-Mobile instead? Just find another solution until you find the most suitable one for you.... If you found that Maxis is not so good, then there's plenty of choice available, like P1, Yes, Digi, Celcom or perhaps UMobile like u said just now... But for me, Streamyx is still the best... I have tried most of the ISP that I mentioned above, and nothing beats my Streamyx yet Again, it's all depends a lot on 'fate'

yesterday went to TM branch pay electric/water bills/internet bills, also asked the staff about 4mbps availbility, she told me that very very soon, cant really confirm for me but definitely available next year, which is quite match the email reply I got from TM support (available on dec 31 2011)
so I think it's really coming soon, now hope I can get DSL line capped on at least 4.5-5mbps, so I can get at least 3.8mbps above,
what're you guys 4mbps speed? I just pray at least get 3.8mbps above
I won't worry about the distance, cos my home/housing area to the town center is like less than 2.5km far, a small town though

Its being a week I upgraded my 1mb to 4mb, still the same old speed capped at 2046 called 100 3 times ,told me to refers back to my technician because its still under warranty for 14days, gave me the number funny different number . my tech guy gave me the wrong num afterall. Tried to call service unavailable.
call 100 AGAIN. the nice lady told me my line had being upgraded to 4mb, I asked her why my modem still show 2046 Downstream pls ask somebody to reset it to 4096 or 5120, she says TM only guarantee 80% of the speed. I almost jump off from my office window.
(dial 100, press 1 for BM press 2 for EN, press 1 , press 2, press 1 again, press 3?, press 1, hello? pizza hut?)

Anyone here streaming regularly from US sites? Mind sharing your experience? My 4MB BB plan only managed to get download speed up to 2MB/s, sometime slightly slower at 1.2MB/s.
I used speedtest.net to test the speed btw.
