You can debrand quite easily, not sure if you can unlock for free though but worse comes to worse you can use online services like Omnius to unlock for less than RM20~

Bootanimation was removed because of fugu tweaks. Contact apps is replaced with Phonebook isn't it?

flashtool from xda can do that for free... just download the global generic firmware

Not sure why, now im back on EW Jet 2.1 ROM.. because.. USSD Code doesn't work for me.. eg: *128#, *126# ...

Hi guys.I just got my X10 this evening.Honestly,i didnt know anything about Android and all the stuff u've been talking here.I guess i bought it mainly because of its price and its sleek design. Question is,can i just survive using it without upgrading it like you guys do? My main activities with the phone are just for call,msg,mms,listen to music,games,and very light internet browsing.I dont even use any data plan. I think what you all do with the phone are amazing and i have no single clue on it. =)

Any basic things i shud do in order to upgrade the phone a lil bit.Not that im complaining with the current phone performance.Thisis my 1st smartphone anyway,so i guess im happy with it as it is.

The first thing for you to do is to upgrade to the latest 2.1.A.0.435 Firmware via PC Companion.

I'll be posting up a guide on boosting stock firmware performance soon.

yeah.. make sure update to latest Official SE firmware using SEUS
Connect to PC using USB and use PC companion... that should be good enough...

but if u want to view flash in web browsing, the only way for that is to upgrade to Froyo 2.2... but thats a different whole story..
come back here if u decided to go rogue with custom firmware....heheh...

Don't worry, you still can enjoy your x10i. Like my wife who owns a white x10i where she is still on firmware 1.6 and she realyy happy with it but for me, I like to customize or make my black x10i to the fullest. My wife just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace about a month ago as her 2nd hp and what can I say is x10i still the best...

I think you can refer back to the old thread i.e v1, a lot of infos there that you can learn. My first advice is familiarize with androis system first then on can move to the next level...

hi, do i need to reset router first b4 changing the channel? i changed dy and my phone cant seem to detect wifi..wonder whats wrong

That's weird.. just try it first see what happens.. also remember to "forget" your connection in your phone settings.
