Pal,You may hv to reconsider I think,cos u say u dont want sports,fine, but then u end up with another RM20 for HD services but if u go for SP u actually save ,its only an opinion ok !

Taking out Sports can save a lot,I might do so as well.But if no Sports channel,B.Yond also will have no Sports HD channels.

I honestly do not know what the installer did, or what Astro is trying to do. I was sleeping when the installers did it. My parents were monitoring them. And apparently, they left just after saying that it'll all be good in an hours time.

Yeap, channel 101. But I can't seem to change the channel. It sticks to channel 101, but the decoder receives the signal from my remote (The LED blinks, so yeah).

I'll try to explain this in the best way possible. You know when you connect your PS3 to your HD TV via the HDMI cable? If you do not switch on your PS3, nothing would appear on your screen apart from a message that's like this "No source detected/check signal" (This is on my TV, which is a Samsung LED TV model). After you switch it on, only then the television receives information from the PS3, and the screen goes black, and there you have your PS3 menu.

Right now, all I see is the screen that I get when I connect a PS3 that is NOT switched on yet, to my television.

They took all the wires, so I can't try right now :/ And I don't think that's the problem, because I can't even change the channels. Wow.. all the hype, and their service is as poor as this. Each time I call them up, they'd just tell me this, "Oh.. it'll be alright in about 24 hours"

Okay guys, I managed to yank out a video out cable from my store room, and I connected it to my TV. Yeap, now I see the, "Please insert smart card bla bla.. or call Astro for any assistance". This is what I was actually waiting to see all these while

Can you confirm with Assthrow whether your byond subscription is activated on their system?  If their system shows your byond set is not activated then ask them to expedite it.  If the set is not activated within their so called 24 hours, then shoot them and better you talk with the manager on duty.

If your beyond set is activated then I suspect it is the connection between your byond set and tv is having issue.  Maybe you can switch your ps3 hdmi cable with assthrow byond cable and see whether your assthrow HDMI is faulty or not.  I tend to believe your hdmi cable is faulty or the issue lies more on hdmi connection.  Because if your byond set is not activated, it will show a message saying your card is not activated and ask you to contact Assthrow on your tv screen.  Now you are saying your tv couldn't even detect signal from your byond set.

If the above still can't ascertain your issue, bring your byond set with the card to Assthrow customer service in your area, if any.  Ask them to activate for you on the spot.

1) Your HD service is not activated so no signal from your hdmi port; and
2) Your decoder can't detect your card or your byond set is yet to be activated.

Ch 188 just now can see so much pixelation if I sit very very very close to the TV

10K has a crisp and clear picture where 7K is blurry like it is with poor focus.

Are u sure HD channels no sports? I checked the latest Astro programme list, there is Supersport HD 1 & 2, ESPN HD.. But I'm aware that not all sports are recorded on HD.

Even from 2m feel like not HD much. If their bitrate was at 7-8mbps, it should be higher for motion video. Like at 10-11mbps.

Believe the pilexation will not be so obvious if you are using plasma full HD tv.

Mine was 32".

Then it shouldn't notice obvious pilexation rite?

If u dont have the sports package then u wont get the HD sports channel..same goes to the other channels..u only get the HD channels if u subscribe to the original package eg.sports, learning, movies package..

On full motion, it's noticable a little than still frame. (with MPEG reduction on)

How many days does it take for Astro Installer to come over if we upgrade to Super Pack 3 from normal decoder ?

My STB was beyond set. Just called to upgrate to superpack 3 by phone on last thusday 9th Jun. They activated the superpack3 within 5 minute on that day. I also asked for PVR set as well. The installer come to installed on saturday 4.00pm. So far are OK. The most important thing is need to update the software version, otherwise your sd channel just Zoom and center cut function only.

Guys, just double check, for the astro package 5, plus packages can select 1 group (I want Metro only) rite?
