Hi smileguy,

Thanks for your kindly response.

May i know i still continue with current setup but remain Downstair (main) with HD decoder to watch All channels (include HD via HDMI) and then Upstair(the one use normal COAXIAL cable) to continue watch other SD Channel?

If u go for HD forget present setup, get HDMI splitter or  expensive wireless to move HD  upstairs and around ur house,u may use composite cables for upstairs and around the house while ur main tv wl be HDMI.

Wow.... Great.... After have your confirmation, now I can prepare to call up the ASTRO for HD subscription which still can retain the TV program access via upstair. By the way, watch HD Channel via coaxial is EQUAL to HD quality or just SD quality on the TV. Currently I'm only have a SD TV on upstair if can watch HD quality I'm thinking to buy a HD panel to watch at upstair also.

Hi all,

For those who had the dilemma of connecting Astro B.yond's coaxial digital out to their receiver that only support optical (Toslink), like I had before...
Just purchase this little device that will convert from coaxial to optical, so no more headache whether to change your receiver. laugh.gif

This device even come with DC adapter (support 110~240V AC).
It worked as advertised, but you will need a Toslink cable and a Coaxial cable to connect it. smile.gif

EDIT: I bought this from Amazon, I don't know if I am allowed to add the link here.
But for those who are interest, just do a search at Amazon.
I bought it for USD17.81

Opps... you also need a US -> UK plug converter... laugh.gif

Anyone here already using Byond PVR with Logitech Harmony 600 or 300 universal remote? Planning to get one and combine all of my home entertainment equipment (BYond PVR, HTiB and LCD TV) into the one single remote... biggrin.gif

Get the latest model, 650. Comes with a color screen, the 600 is mono color. About rm200+ only. And yes, they are good universal remotes. I amusing the older 525, two years plus oledi.

I added Learning and Variety packages today and I am glad I can change the subtitle language or make it disappear

EXCEPT for FOX ! mad.gif what happened ?

Furthermore, the variety package sucks as it only contains two watchable channel FOX and Star world...

Not worth the money, is it better to get Cartoon or News instead of variety package ? can Anybody recommend ?

I don't have variety but I highly recommended you take cartoon. Anyway still there is a risk to take cartoon pack due to you might ends up just let your kids take charge the TV and astro by always watching 613 channel (Disney Junior)...

FOX stop broadcast the subtitles when they start the Bahasa Melayu bilingual service which my 67yrs old mom find it sucks, she do understand a little bit english but she prefer malay subs with original audio. Any encore show b4 the service still have subs.

For me i prefer news package, cartoon pack too much ad n too frequent repeat.

Aljazeera = better views n balance in news.
CNN and BBC = gr8 coverage when big disaster happen.
Bloomberg = i dont watch coz i'm not into business or stock market.
Aussie Net = gr8 down under prog with drama, aussie football and travel show. I like their 2hour music video prog call RAGE.
CNBC = Jay Leno show, comedy central.

Guys, I just subscribed to Astro Byond, as I'm a big fan of korean dramas, most of the time I tune into S.One Channel...393.

but the major problem is, that the people mouth doesn't syncs properly with the audio. I have tried setting the AUDIO DELAY in USER SETTINGS...but nothing can be done....I've tried the lowest delay and longest delay..but it is still the same.

CNA now on Unifi, not sure its the same feed in Sgp. Most of us like me in Johor can watch for free both on analog n digital broadcast. Maybe CNA give too diff views from our gov especially news on Malaysia. Sometime their reporting more balance than our tv channels.

are you using HDMI digital sound or anolog sound(red/white audio out)?

I think only digital audio can be adjusted for lip sync
