Yah most people will tell you to skip Destroyer unless you plan to go for Interdictors.

Destroyer imo is. Slower than frigate, weaker than cruiser. Its a half here, half there kind of ship and therefore not really worth it.

Most missions that requires speed, Destroyers do not fit the bill. If need to be tough, doesn't cut it either.

Just my 0.02 ISK here. =)

As for World Collide, ask for help if you need.

And a tip here, someone in game told me. The gate that belongs to Cartel is easier mostly.

Destroyer is not all that bad.
Destroyer do make your level 1 missions alot easier (except WC, again). It has way more firepower and it do it's job well, as a destroyer This is what I like in a destroyer.
A destroyer just a bit slower than, say a frigate Merlin.

When I can kill everything fast, that's good enough for me

Destroyers do make your job in level 1 missions easier. But when I can do it in a frigate no less, should I be paying ISKs and time to learn piloting a Destroyers?

As well as, the time would probably better spent on getting Cruiser and advance weapon skills?

u can fly them to do lvl1 just only lvl1 WC cant use vexor
only destoyer and below will fit

opps unless i forgotten u still cant fly a vexor yet
ya destoyer is a good one a start with if u do lvl1 misson but u need faster/smaller ships to fit in wc only

I can fly in a Vexor la. =p

What I do hope for a change is that Destroyers to be made a lot better than Frigates are but yet inferior to Cruisers.

Plus, give Caldari a Missile Destroyer already. Why should them be using Hybrid Turrets as well. >.<

Every other race had their own specialised weapons for their Destroyers.

Gallente = Hybrid.
Minmatar = Projectile.
Amarr = Laser.
Caldari = Hybrid?! Double-u Tee Fee!

Now im flying an OMEN and i had 4 Medium Laser turrets and 1 Assault Launcher. IMO Missiles are way too powerful compared to other gun turrets. Missiles already win by range and damage.

Anyway... anyone can advice me on Omen's Mid and Low Slot Equipments ? i had Energized Plating on already...

Low : Medium Rep, 2 Hardener (if you got the skills for hardener, or not put resistance plating) , 1 heat sink, 1 CPR

Well, I don't PVP.

I like Missiles because they look way cool. I mean you seem them cruise towards the target and goes "BOOM!".

Way cooler than "Bam bam bam", "Pew pew pew" or even "Chu chu chu"(that is how Railguns sounds to me. )

My alt 2 more days cna pilot a Cruiser liao rofl. And I'm taking it slow as well.

My refiner/miner alt going to pilot an Osprey soon too. So I can start earning bit by bit while training for a Barge.

By the way, a question here.

Any pros here know if the calculations I've made below is correct?

Caldari Cruiser - Osprey

Powergrid: 475MW
CPU output: 275tf
4 Hi
4 Med
3 Low

If I have [Engineering IV] and [Electronics IV] for 20% boost to both my powergrid and cpu output,
I'll have 475*1.2=570MW and 275*1.2=330tf?

Theoretically, I can fit in,

Miner II x 3 = 12MW and 240tf
Mining Laser Upgrade x 2 = 2MW and 60tf

And I will have 556MW and 30tf left to fit some otherthings, right?

as for your fitting for osprey
hmm i am not a number person maybe i let those more gurus advice here

but if u will to fit in all miner lazer u r left to nothng to protect u unless u dual or triple log your alt to protect u while u mines
unless u mines in high sec with no rats roaming around

Yah high sec mining.

And even if I need to protect from rats. I can always train Drone IV.

Osprey have 20m³ of drone bay.

And I have a free Hi slot for a Standard Missile Launcher. Or I could use the last Low slot for a Co-Processor CPU II to boost my CPU output to 363tf so I would have be able to fit in a Heavy Missile Launcher.

Only thing is that I might not be able to tank. Perhaps I could slap on a few passive shield hardener against specific rats. But then, I ran out of cpu. Haha.

But then this setup I might use to help out with the mining coop.

Ran some numbers regarding this setup, on paper the Osprey can haul in a total of 171 ore/cycle with each Miner II.

So with 3 x Miner II, I can haul in about 513 ore per cycle. Not alot but enough for a Cruiser I suppose.

ya lor osprey got lack of cpu usually
even i got lvl4 enginnering and electronics i find osprey is lacking of it too
so i need to stack in cpu to offset it

if u use drones on osprey hmm oke lor the range is not as good as your missles if u mines in 05 sector the rats is more powerful if u compare to those on higher sector so i usualy use 2 minerlazer II and 2 missles lanucher to fent off rats in 05 but if u mines in even higher sec i tink drones should works fine

Having destroyer not exactly bad, as interdictors are powerful ships when you use it in 0.0 space but of cos not much uses if you're only staying at empire space =)

And to osprey, try get weapon upgrades to level 5 (if you could spare the time) so that you'll have cpu reduction when fitting hybrid guns co-supporting your mining over highsec (0.5 or higher).

I chose Missile Launcher because Osprey got a free Hi slot only for Missile Launchers.

4 hi (3 turret, 2 launcher hardpoints)

So if put in a gun, I can only fit in 2 Miner II and still have an extra Hi if I didn't fit in a launcher. =/

Well, of course you don't use a destroyer for mining...main reason is because they dont have the mining yield bonuses like the Osprey. Secondly, you use drones to kill rats and not your guns. Destroyers are more combat oriented...so that's the use of it
