entry level ah, 600-700 ringgit? long time since i've looked at subwoofers.

the ones that are musical usually go for 3 time than that

Which mall in KL and surrounding suburb have more AE product for audition? Amcorp?

If i want to use bookshelves with a pc, all i have to buy is Amp, bookshelf speakers and woofer right? Connect through optical? I dont need to use a soundcard or DAC to get superior sound into Amp right?

Its hard to buy hifi without listening, to bad no proper Hifi shops in this town.

After audition the ProAC tablet 3, and studio, I would still prefer Opera 1.5.
Another speaker I am getting crazy over

1.The Focus Audio FS-68 or FS-688 series.
2. Sonus Faber Signum
3. AAD Reference silver-1

I would prefer second hand one, given the high cost of above items

I wonder if there is any other speaker i should pay attention to and what is your comment on the above

After going thru the audition for Focus Audio FS-68SE, I found the soundstage is quite wide, especialy the mid and high are very engaging and revealing and uncolor. However the bass shop is not my area of visit. one just dont vote Focus for that, inc the FC30. The other audition is AAD Silver-1. The famous AAD 2001 (audition during the AV show in crystal crown) has got a follow up. The curve sharp of Silver-1 carry the marks of Phil Jone philosophy. Sharp and punch bass. At first I audition the ATC SCM7 and monitor audio. After switching over to AAD Silver-1, gosh, u feel like driving on highway with 20 lanes . This really make me think to save money than buying something for sale later.

so now I have narrow down to
1. Opera prima 1.5
2. AAD silver-1
3. Sonus signum

trouble is where to audition the famous signum (and for the price i can only afford 2nd hand).

Hello ccschua, Opera-Consonance bookshelf speaker is made by One of China Hi-End manufacturer which famous in Tube amp. I have seen their amp in City square but never see their speaker. I have listen the opera callas diva floorstand speaker which made in italy, very musical & all rounded, very easy be driven. I love it so much, but the price is high.
Ccschua, did u heard the dali ikon 6 in city square before. This speaker is very good in price & easy be driven & good reveiw. May be you can bring your soudstage amp to test it. I am a poor hifi beginner , hope you can share some good experiment to me.

Hi guys, im more into car audio and consider a newbie in home audio. Im gonna move into my new house soon and desire to build myself a simple home audio. Im currently using vifa speakers in car and have plans to build myself a speaker stand and transfer the speaker over. Say for a budget of 5000 to buy myself a cd player and amplifier, what are the choices available?

Bro i would suggest going to HIFI shops to listen to demo systems. Matching is the key to getting the right kind of sound suitable for yourself. It also depends on cables and interconnects. Your budget will allow you for a decend new system, but 5k is great and will yield better options if you were to go the 2nd hand route ie star audiophile/hifi for sale blog. Just my two cents worth of thoughts, good luck smile.gif

Spoken like a true Naim cult member. rolleyes.gif Somehow, only Naim is able to generate a cult following.

hello, i've been more in headfi for the past years. now i got to stay in a larger room and was thinking of getting a standmount/bookshelf. i found myself liking neutral sounds and crisp vocals. i can spend upto rm1k for the speakers alone. and a reasonable amount for a matching power amp(i'm using my EMU-1212M pc soundcard as source) recommend me something? smile.gif

Hello all, my system consists of Rotel RB/RC 971 pre/power combo(70watts). Source is NAD 525Bee cdp & Wharfedale Crystal 30 floorstander.

I'd like to replace my speaker to MA BR2 or B&W DM602 S3 since i've found 2nd hand of those. Which one suit my system most or should i stick to my current Wharfedale?

Your opinion on this is highly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Should i stick
