the TM provided wifi router is really problematic, on for 3 weeks with very very low usage, then suddenly 1 day after a minor usage for 5 user then hang already.

Any idea what type of router can replace this wifi router? i dont need the wifi actually, but i do need a router that can suppose 150 ppl setting it as gateway.

hi, i just got my unifi today. but then i found it so stupidly use my fullname as wireless name. so i change it under "Multiple Wireless Network Name (SSIDs)"

but then i dunno izzit coincidentally or what, my network become super slow. then i revert back to the original name and also tried to restore the previous saved config, but no success. basically my download speed is ok. but upload speed is super damnly slow, which make browsing website very slow too coz need time to send out the request. i got 5mbps download and 5-10mbps upload before that. i dunno izzit sth wrong somewhere or izzit really the problem of changing wireless name? =_=

anyone have any idea what is going wrong?

Bloody hell.. I am in charge of networking at this place and around 10 users (out of 20) managed to cripple a VIP20 line with their goddamn PPS. And all of them are girls.

When they start their PPS party the WDS router that I setup would also crash after a while, and needs to be rebooted.

Anyone had a similar experience?

I know how to block it, but before that I'm gonna try the 'educate them' method.

PPS the bandwidth eater..

FUH.. that day at McD saw a girl sat down and turn on her laptop.Straight away launch PPS to watch drama...

Looks like wimminz are also big consumers of bandwidth today.

Should have told the store supervisor about her inappropriate behavior.

My sis uses tiubkamu and the channel's sites to stream shows. Then there's the downloading from iTunes. Almost just as bad as an overly aggressive torrent program too.

I thought this guide is clear enough?
http://unifi.athena.my/custom_routers.html

I've done it with 2 units of TM's DIR615 v7.09

Perhaps you missed this part.

Hi
i really need your help on this!

i wanted to replace the DLink router with TP-Link 841ND v7.2, which supposedly is compatible with unifi after flashed with their firmware. my BTU unit is a white color one, and it's not by huawei. i can't get internet connection but i can watch IPTV.

i gave up hope on that so i decided to use DIR615 V7.09 as bridge and TP-Link 841 as wireless router. i followed athena's step but i still cant connect to internet.

what did u do with the v7.09 to make it work?

thx!

Let's start with this.
QUOTE
UPDATE 27th January 2011 : TM has released the 7.09 firmware for the D-Link 615 G1/G2. This new firmware is a little buggy so you may or may not be able to utilize it for 'VLAN bridging' (as described in Method 2 of this guide). If that is the case, head over to the Downloads section and pick up a copy of the 7.05 or 7.05B firmware for your DIR-615 hardware revision. You should be able to downgrade the firmware to 7.05/7.05B through the stock TM 7.09 firmware interface without needing to boot into Emergency Room mode (which is described in the DD-WRT flashing guide). User carcdm from Lowyat forums has confirmed that this is possible.

Did you or did you not downgrade?

As for the WR841ND, did you flash it to the unifi compatible firmware yourself or someone did it for you?

Try this. Do a hard reset, and then load this default setup file:
http://klseet.com/attachments/article/7/TL...-wSetupFile.zip

This is a no brainer but just in case... log in to the router, under 'ppoe connection' change the username and pass to your unifi login and pass.
