Erm, i think there's answer for my question some where, but i currently just asking for my office.
1. Can apply unifi for corporate/office use under company name for the VIP package? Or is it compulsory under company name then need to apply business package?
2. Currently have streamyx account that is package with phone for corporate 1. So if the package is under same company name, can i upgrade it to unifi?
3. Or can i just cancel the company's streamyx while applying the unifi? Cause want to have the smooth transition to avoid gap of no internet if cancel streamyx then only apply unifi. So is it i can apply unifi till they come install and everything only cancel the streamyx?

QUOTE(rattan @ May 11 2011, 05:52 PM) Yes it will work. I don't see any benefit changing the IP class. Why not just stick to the default 192.168.x.xxx IP table? thanks. ip change is cause my PCs setting all gateway to that ip already. so just dont wnat to redo the PCsssss 1.

the TM provided wifi router is really problematic, on for 3 weeks with very very low usage, then suddenly 1 day after a minor usage for 5 user then hang already.
Any idea what type of router can replace this wifi router? i dont need the wifi actually, but i do need a router that can suppose 150 ppl setting it as gateway.

wanted to ask something. the wifi router is actually doing the pppoe dialing to the BTU/VDSL2 as modem right? So let say i got a firewall that can do pppoe dialling, i can just direct replace it with the wifi router right? Just need to set the pppoe dialing in the firewall to be same as the wifi router right?

QUOTE(ckboon @ May 19 2011, 02:11 PM) the firewall need to have vlan function, as unifi will only recognize vlan500 for internet(ppoe), and vlan600 for iptv Added on May 19, 2011, 2:13 pmu can either bridge ur firewall and connect it to DIR-615 or make a double nating, if the firewall don't have any vlan function how to check if the firewall have or dont have vlan function? also is FortiGate 50B can support dialling the BTU/VDSL2? Don't like to connect to the DIR-615 cause easily hang, need to force restart it, imagine that is just very low usage and left on for 3 weeks only. Then imagine having 150 pointing their gateway to that DIR-615. i scare~~~~

QUOTE(ckboon @ May 19 2011, 03:36 PM) i don't think it had vlan function. For the dialing part, if you are able to see an option for PPOE then it should be able to dial. U can use klseet suggestion here : http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=6&Itemid=4 to replace the dlink DIR-615. BTU -> microtik (Vlan 500) -> fortigate (setup up the PPOE) (Vlan 600) -> iptv would really prefer the BTU -> fortigate cause i does see an option "Type" as VLAN. Then there's also a pppoe dial that currently dialing the streamyx. Maybe i should give it a try to just dial Unifi. IF not only need to try getting microtik. Thanks for those info. by the way, does any shop in lowyat selling microtik? This post has been edited by -ZeN-: May 19 2011, 03:57 PM

QUOTE(ckboon @ May 19 2011, 04:07 PM) http://www.landasan.com.my/mikrotik/then u need to create VLAN ID 500 for the PPOE and map the LAN to it. currently the PPPoE dialling to streamyx is by the WAN2 port. There's only 3 interface for the firewall, which is internal, wan1, and wan2. So what u meaning by VLAN ID 500 is just setting the VLAN ID to 500 right, then map the LAN to it means what? Current the LAN (internal) for the firewall is manually set to a fix ip then connect to a switch where all PC is connected to. Then PCs are pointing their gateway to the firewall ip. Then the wan2 is pppoe dialing to streamyx. So the PC -> firewall -> streamyx modem -> internet.

QUOTE(klseet @ May 19 2011, 04:19 PM) @ckboon, RB250GS is a managed switch: http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=6&Itemid=4RB750/750G is a managed switch + full function router gateway: http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...e&id=5&Itemid=5@-zen- If your WAN router gateway able to support vlan tagging (3 digit) on port level, then you may use it to dial directly through BTU. If not, then you may consider either: 1. configure the DIR-615 as bridge according to Rizvanrp's guide 2. get a managed switch like RB250GS or others to handle the vlan tagging Thanks for the info, i read through it and now i have clearer pictures of it. Just wait so that i can experiment with it. Does it make much difference that my side is biz-5 package. I see some flashing of the TM DIR-615 firmware with a custom 1. But I wouldn't want to use the current 1, so is there anywhere to purchase this DIR-615 router? This post has been edited by -ZeN-: May 19 2011, 04:49 PM

Want to ask something, currently using unifibiz 5mbps, the password to dial the unifi is provided randomly by them right? not we set it ourself right? Cause i dont recall giving them any custom password for the dialing up, and then the email they sent to us is stating 13alphanumeric password. but in the DIR-615 the * at the password field is showing 10 only. Is it the DIR-615 password field will mask it showing 10 only, but when key in password is the 13alphanumeric that they provide?

QUOTE(ckboon @ May 25 2011, 12:57 PM) we can provide them the password, or they will create a password to us. i'll given them my selected password during online registration, hence they set it to what i requested the DIR-615 wifi router password masking is 10 * only. The password is actually not, so dont trust the masking there. Useless 1, make me confuse.
