Hi Guys,

I'm sorry if this have been mentioned before in the thread. I've just installed the Unifi services and can't seem to access my router because i
don't have the password and username. I've searched the internet and found some common username/passwords used but they don't work.

Called up TM and they tell me to wait and get back to me.. it's been 3 days now and no one has called.

If there anyway i can get around and do this?

Thanks.

@radiikal

If you're having issues with the bridge, the easiest way to test if it's working is to hook up your computer to the DIR-615 rather than your router's WAN port. Most operating systems have an inbuilt PPPoE dialer that you can set up. If the connection works, the router has mapped the physical port to VLAN500 successfully.

I'm schedule to get unifi BIZ5 early July. Do TM put a cap speed in this package? I understand in the their brochure boast on Unlimited and NO FUP at this time...

Some replies from the BIZ5 package user would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

What did the log said? (under System Tools --> System Log)

Hard reset the device first, then apply the firmware and default setup file as mentioned in cannavaro's post above.
Please ensure you enter the PPPoE user ID & password correctly, it's case sensitive, assigned from TM upon registration, under the "High Speed Internet - Resident - xx Mbps" section.

Previously only the Huawei HG655a VDSL was having problem, it was resolved by setting the 30 seconds WAN online interval check.
So far I haven't came across Alcatel complaint, I supposed it should work smile.gif

Btw, if you want to use the DIR-615 as bridge, please ensure you hard reset the TL-WR841ND and flash back the stock firmware:

bro,

i would like to know what the different between the stock and unifi firmware for tp-link. Does the unifi version had an option for vlan tagging and port mapping like what we see on dir-615? (I am not sure whether the stock dir-615 has this option or not, but the one came from TM has it).

meaning it had been hard-coded to the port, or just auto configure the setting for us to save all the trouble.

Yes, the TL-Wr841ND custom firmware has been hard-coded with vlan.500 tagging for WAN PPPoE and vlan.600 on Port1 for IPTV.
You don't need to worry about those vlans, just setup the usual PPPoE and SSID will do, all the features & functions still the same as stock firmware smile.gif

oh.. so we can't change the vlan tag from the unit itself? as what i can see from dir-615, we can meddle with the vlan tag and port mapping as it's 1 of the option in the box.

so the tp-link firmware is still under beta testing and not finalize yet?

another question, the huawei (black color) BTU got 4 LAN port, what can we do with the rest of the port? Was thinking of using the port as well, is it possible? and anyone know the default user and password for the box as i would like to go in and have a look on what can be configure there.

thanks...

Hei guys, can help me to clarify one thing? Today a TM CS called me regarding of the Unifi upgrade, so when i asked her about Unipack she seems to be blurred and says that i'm able to upgrade from any package to unifi without extra cost but just to renew the contract...

Please if anyone can help me with this matter?

(I've searched last month there's a person said that unifi is unable to upgrade from unipack say they have to pay the termination fee =.=" and today TM CS give me a different story)

no need

unifi is still under tm and it's considered as a migration to a higher package.

i've terminated my streamyx combo package which still have 1.5years contract without any cost.

That custom firmware is meant for UniFi only and do not have the option to change the vlan & re-map like the DIR-615.
You may consider the RB250GS or RB750/750G if you want to re-rag or re-map ports.

Well, whether it's beta or custom, that firmware is good to use for UniFi now nod.gif
I don't really bother whether it's released officially by TP-Link and/or certified by TM icon_rolleyes.gif

Assuming you are talking about the Huawei HG850a GPON for landed property, there is really nothing much to play around, it's TM's property, better don't around or mess with it. If you still want to go-in, do some search on past postings wink.gif

want to ask, do you all face slow connection for UNIFI?
at the start it was ok, then after up for few hour while, line will become slow.
it is the reason i use firebox to control my connection? this is a company line

oh... got it. Microtik is not in my mind at the moment as those are just manageable switch and I still need a router to do the dial up job. Sad enough i got 2 units of wireless router which is a 3-in-1(modem-router-wifi) rclxub.gif , hence they can't be used with micro, as they dont have any WAN port for external connection and still i need to get another router, and using back DIR-615 will be a silly choice, unless running it on DDWRT, then again if problem arise TM will put the blame on us although it might not be our problem! Then in the end i still needa get a Wireless router cry.gif , that's why TP-link 841 come to my minds as it can settle most of the problem and replacement the dumb DIR-615. Just as a precaution step in need know more about the product first before i really go and get it. smile.gif

now 841 comes with 2 model, N and ND, which N (fix antenna) and ND( removal antenna), i assumed both are running on the same type of firmware, and which model should i get? as in sense of which is the latest model? N or ND?

Added on May 19, 2011, 12:24 pmcan we revert DDWRT back to default TM firmware? as from athena site, i only see 7.05 ver and not 7.09

and the weird thing is that, i tried to search for DIR-615 G1/G2 on official dlink.com.my site and it show nothing on this model. The site only had the black color unit, whereas we are using the orange color. Does TM changed the color of the unit to fit their logo color, or it's a very very old school model from dlink that they don't even care to support on it anymore.
