Hypermilling tips when you run using autocruise;

Try to reduce blue zone/maintain green zone at incline by inching down on the set speed using Decel/SET button. The car will obviously slows down getting up the hill, depending on the degree of incline.

When the car going downhill, press Accel/RES button to extend the green zone and speed up the car. By then will got enough momentum for the next slope.

More green zone, better mileage. In the meantime your legs are still rest free.

Quite exciting. Like playing game using joystick. Have a try.

but one question.. is it when we reach 4000km then suddenly the leaf becomes double? I tried to maintain the green bar every time i drive even though it is impossible in town area and still cannot manage to get more leaf. Until it reach 4000km then the leaf grows.

Maybe i am right and maybe also i am wrong. however, comments from all of you are much appreciated.

p/s: just for sharing : I reset the km/l every time i drive (for past one month for testing my theory) and it gives different reading. most of the time is getting higher due to different journey and different style of handling. Anyway i also don't believe the article that they can clocked 25.8 km/l unless they reset the km/l and start the journey in highway without need to stop frequently.

Any news on your cars for those for booked??... I booked early march, still no news.
May even have to wait until June July... this is so frustrating, no point in cancelling it now, just have to wait...

Should've bought it from those ulu ulu places where the SA is allocated cars, but with minimum buyers..
Instead, went with a reputable dealer, and ended up wait wait wait....

I booked in March, car arrives Apr 15. So waited for about 4 weeks only. quite good smile.gif

Then again, my dealer is in mainland penang. latest news now seems to be for folks booking now, wait until june to get. if you want to check w/my dealer (assuming you're in penang), then PM me for SA contact.

true that, for me driving short distance (to my workplace which is less than 1.5km I think) I'll get only 11 to 13 km/l. for longer distance (>10km) no problem getting 18km/l or more.

Driving too slow can hurt the mileage too

http://www.trafficmagonline.com/honda-insi...ing-with-style/

they have tested the insight and below are their comment extracted from the article :-

"With RM30 of Ron95, you’ll get 15.789 liter. With 25.8km per liter, you’ll be able to travel around 407km (roughly estimated)! On normal days, my Satria can only give me at most 200km for RM30.00!

It is important to note that the media team that accomplished this did not drive like a half blind great-grandfather with no spectacles, and they were the first to arrive in Melaka.

Performance wise, well, as the talk goes about fuel efficiency, performance can sometimes be thrown out the window. The new Insight, however, is utilizing the latest 2 Stage i-VTEC technology, which means the car is not really a slowpoke. We managed to get 185km/h on the electronic speedometer while another media team managed to get 195km/h. Getting up there can be a little slow, which is on par with the 1.3 IMA engine, but the car is not designed for a drag race. The most optimum speed to cruise, we were told, is around 110km/h to 130km/h, which is around the legal speed limit here in Malaysia"

wow.. never tried at 195km/h.. dunno how it feels like.  hmm.gif

btw i really love how they took the car photo with various angle.. looks elegant and proud to own one.

and yeah, like their photos a lot!!

25.8km/l is possible

I borrowed my colleague insight and I was able to get 25.2km/l from Bukit Jalil -> Dengkil -> KLIA -> Dengkil -> MEX -> KL. I think whole journey was 160km. There were 5~6 traffic lights and hill slopes. The car havent break-in yet @ 403km when I drove it that time. I think the key is the pedal control and traffic anticipation. I record this using trip B right from my home car park.

During down hill slope, I stop the cruise control and glide on battery then when the speed starting to reduce I restart the cruise control. When nearing a traffic light, stop the cruise control and glide to traffic light then slow down to recharge the battery. I set the cruise control at 85~90km/h.

Another note is that, I found that I need to accelerate quickly (turn to light blue) to overcome the gear-drag (you feel slight change and also reduced rpm) then glide on battery, I feel this is more efficient than slowly accelerate.

If possible try reverse parking and facing out, it will help on FC.

Anyway still waiting for my own insight....!!! cry.gif

totally agree...that explains the reason on why my mileage went higher (20-21km/ltr) using cruise control..
initially, i thought using cruise control decrease fuel efficiency as it always accelerate to light-blue until it reaches the desired speed whenever the cruise control is activated...

but surprisingly, the end results shows that my car managed to clock higher mileage using cruise control compared to manual acceleration even though i've tried my best to keep the speedometer green most of the time..

When I was away in Phnom Penh for 2 weeks, My dad drove my car and he said the car feel twice as fast with the Econ off.

Saw tons of 2nd Gen Prius in Cambodia (the old Prius was even shown in their Motorshow along with many new cars doh.gif ), zero 3rd Gen Prius and Insight.

for those who tried to test their mileage, do the manual calculation also, in my experience, it is more accurate and satisfying, but i do admit driving in city less than 50 km/h with lots of traffic jams and bumpers will hurt the mileage too

Anybody used to A.SEL (auto-select) on the FM radio? What is the different between A.SEL and RDS?

Reading Insight manual, i understand that using A.SEL, the radio can maintain 1 station for long journey when the frequency changes according to areas. I believe RDS also meant for that. Does Insight A.SEL function well?

I got my Blackie today. my SA told me that insurance pays full amount of 98k if lost. In case why bother to install extra lock, if stolen get new one. tongue.gif
*
why not, cobra connex give u extra peace of mind.

one year ago i install cobra connex on my NHC. that time the cobra connex sales manager purposely came down from KL to JB together one more of his staff to monitor the installation by one of the authorized dealer worker in jb. I was told by the sales manager, my car was the first honda city installed with cobra connex that time in jb.

i had been using it for one year, i totally have no worry abt car lost, thanks to cobra connex + locktech.

now i am getting new honda insight, i will transfer the cobra connex to my new insight, i was told the transfer only cost less than rm300 for labour charge. tongue.gif

Hi Westlife, I know Cobra Connex does not come cheap but you will feel safe with it installed. However, can it be detected if your car is underground or inside the container truck? tongue.gif

Btw, do you need to renew the service every year?
