What is I2? Insight??
*
haha... i oso agree with u on that. funny to call it as I2 when no significant unless it is IG2. Btw I read in some article that the battery can only be at maximum performance if stored under 40C temp. Now m'sia condition as room temp is more than 40C during daylight. Thats why i think Honda Malaysia extend another 2 years warranty for the IMA battery compare to others country.

Btw just confirm today Honda Malacca also halt new order for insight temporary until further notice.

Come to Global Amity
Auto lock can be done just around RM80-120...

i tried before to install the auto lock (from Honda authorized accessories shop) but the system in Insight a bit different from Honda city which the auto lock refused to work while the ignition is in on mode. Anyone already find the solution for this?

I really salute those who can get > 800 km for the first tank. I could only get 570km, n now range showing 30km, so probably total of 600km.

Eco mode on, drive slowly (more lively when driving my myvi lol), no hard traffic jam, average 90km. Even though friends tested drive 2 times, it shall not caused the fuel to drop so drastic.

Anyway slow driving make me feel sleepy. Will drive like normal car n see how it goes for the 2nd tank.
*
http://www.trafficmagonline.com/honda-insi...ing-with-style/

they have tested the insight and below are their comment extracted from the article :-

"With RM30 of Ron95, you’ll get 15.789 liter. With 25.8km per liter, you’ll be able to travel around 407km (roughly estimated)! On normal days, my Satria can only give me at most 200km for RM30.00!

It is important to note that the media team that accomplished this did not drive like a half blind great-grandfather with no spectacles, and they were the first to arrive in Melaka.

Performance wise, well, as the talk goes about fuel efficiency, performance can sometimes be thrown out the window. The new Insight, however, is utilizing the latest 2 Stage i-VTEC technology, which means the car is not really a slowpoke. We managed to get 185km/h on the electronic speedometer while another media team managed to get 195km/h. Getting up there can be a little slow, which is on par with the 1.3 IMA engine, but the car is not designed for a drag race. The most optimum speed to cruise, we were told, is around 110km/h to 130km/h, which is around the legal speed limit here in Malaysia"

wow.. never tried at 195km/h.. dunno how it feels like. hmm.gif

btw i really love how they took the car photo with various angle.. looks elegant and proud to own one.

Hypermilling tips when you run using autocruise;

Try to reduce blue zone/maintain green zone at incline by inching down on the set speed using Decel/SET button. The car will obviously slows down getting up the hill, depending on the degree of incline.

When the car going downhill, press Accel/RES button to extend the green zone and speed up the car. By then will got enough momentum for the next slope.

More green zone, better mileage. In the meantime your legs are still rest free.

Quite exciting. Like playing game using joystick. Have a try.
*
but one question.. is it when we reach 4000km then suddenly the leaf becomes double? I tried to maintain the green bar every time i drive even though it is impossible in town area and still cannot manage to get more leaf. Until it reach 4000km then the leaf grows.

Maybe i am right and maybe also i am wrong. however, comments from all of you are much appreciated.

p/s: just for sharing : I reset the km/l every time i drive (for past one month for testing my theory) and it gives different reading. most of the time is getting higher due to different journey and different style of handling. Anyway i also don't believe the article that they can clocked 25.8 km/l unless they reset the km/l and start the journey in highway without need to stop frequently.

yes i agree with you. mine started to sound when i pressed the auto cruise buttons at highway. The sounds seems like come out from the aircond vent or nearby the area.

meaning they dun sell it individually yet?

but anyway, for me, i would against the idea of installing door visor, the car would look less sporty after the installation. it does not really look good, just my 2 cents.

So far only Mardzi, Orbclyne and me have this "problem", well, it might not be a problem, hopefully.

You guys can try, turn off the radio, air cond speed at the lowest, then you accelerate and see if you hear any grinding sound or not.  I only notice this after my first service last week, hope its normal.  I am not sure if its from the motor, but it sound like grinding or something spinning.

My ride now very comfortable, quiet and soft after reduce the pressure from 315kpa to 230kpa front and 220kpa rear, I suggest you guys to do the same if you don't mind sacrifice a little bit of FC and tyre wear.  Running too high tyre pressure may cause your dashboard, door trims' clips looses which may result possible rattles in the near future.
*
but my grinding prob have nothing to do with tyre problem. I notice that once i switch to auto cruise and then the sound start to occurs. another incident if i accelerate my car out of norm (such as overtaking a car in "fast and furious mode" i.e : like Psyeo father did.. hehe) and the sound starts to occur.

Wax would only do sealing/sealant, polish would remove swirl marks. Wax would cover the swirl marks a little but then when the wax is gone, u will see the swirl marks again.

What I normally do for a proper car detailing, wash with claybar, polish & wax. smile.gif

yup. i send for sierra glow and thank god all the scratches gone and now my car back to show room condition. before that full of visible scratches.

Added on April 24, 2011, 1:04 amDid smtg stupid today - i tried to use a flat-head screw-driver to manually adjust my headlamps behind the headlamp housing (I personally still find the headlamp levels too low for night driving, even after set to max auto-levelling)...

managed to crank the headlamps light level to ~5cm higher, when the entire internal lamp reflector dish inside "dropped" about 10cm. Then now even if I turn the manual screws, the levels won't go up/down.

will get it fixed in the 1st service... probably a cable inside got loose coz i turned too much.

So, MORAL OF THE STORY: don't get too greedy and adjust the lamp level way too high smile.gif

Added on April 24, 2011, 1:23 amJust got my car back from PPS today...got the Shine N Shield Teflon coating done. Dropped the car off @ 9am, got it back @ 5pm. I watched them for awhile as they were polishing the car... it's quite a detailed process - wash thoroughly, apply polish, then wash thoroughly again, re-polish etc.

Luckily the shop lady boss got car for me to drive home... an old Ford 2.0 sedan... manual drive (i must say i miss driving manual car... still the best for jam-free roads  thumbup.gif

Here's some pix from the shop... these are taken immediately after I got there to collect the car...

Will try and get some clearer/nicer shots these next few days if weather outside is good smile.gif

BTW, I was told by the PPS detailers to use a "PH balanced car shampoo" to keep the shine (and to ensure the warranty is valid). walau eh - even car shampoo must use "PH balanced!"

I'm currently using Armor All wash n wax liquid shampoo (blue bottle, around RM20/bottle)... but might switch to the one the car detailers are using (Auto Magic, RM60/ 3L big bottle). Anyone using this brand?

i send my car yesterday for sierra glow but otw back i stumbled with black insight at traffic lite and feel sooo proud to see another black insight on the road and tool photo of it. who might be the owner is.. BLE 6xx hmm.gif

Hybrid can look sporty as well for the "Sports". plus the mugen kit claims to have "Zero Lift" aerodynamic added to the insight providing lesser drag, thus the "Intelligent".  the Hybrid word is still there. Hehe.. personally I don't think the Mugen "Hybrid Intelligent Sports" emblem looks good too, I prefer the original Chrome "Hybrid" emblem.

Hybrid can be very powerful too. F1 KERS function pretty similar to IMA too, by providing engine the boost when demanded from the energy stored from the regenerative braking.

Cayenne S Hybrid is another example of powerful hybrid smile.gif

yalooo.. agreed.seems funny with the loooong emblem n by the time ppl behid u read it bcos of too loong and small wordings, the car already kiss ur car ass cry.gif

I had tried out 3 top brand petro for few month and top up with approx. same consumption fuel with the brand Shell, Caltex and Esso/Mobil on my VIOS.

shell - approx. 460 km per tank
caltex - approx. 500 km per tank
Esso/Mobil - approx. 550km per tank

usage - 80% on express way (speed 80km/h)
          - 20% on city

I will try out Honda insight once I get. Until now i still haven't receive my SA news about arrival of my new insight. rclxub.gif

why need to be so troublesome? tot 'D' all the way can do the job liao.  shocking.gif

not very sure bout this statement but i was told before by peugeot ex technician that auto car need to shift to s or l gear once a month at least to ensure the all the gear are used rather than only depends on D gear all the way. Sounds logic as if we put too much effort in D gear and not using at all the L and S gear, by the time D gear is damage but S and L still in a good condition but need to be change also.

ya lo, must verify this man. I still haven't done the survey yet. can still give BAD feedback if i was cheated!

as i was told by my SA, the RM 500 rebate only applicable for tinted by honda and not for alpha or beta package. I got my RM 500 rebate by using the tinted in Honda panel shop. soory if i am wrong but i have the rebate d and not being cheated icon_idea.gif

sorry, i dun understand what kind of logic is this, because u want all the gear to die about the same time, so you just simply use S, L forcefully. I do not need think the gear box will spoil such easily because you use D all the time.

isn't that S, L all both for lower gear purpose, which is more meant to be use on up slope and down slope?
what is the logic that on the ground road, u need to use them? when car accelerates beyond certain speed, it need to up gear, same as manual, i would just think that to insist of using the low gears on normal drive will spoil ur gear box even faster.

I would just think the way that car itself is already a wear and tear thing including all its parts, just use as per normal, when it is time to die, it will die no matter how.

Added on May 3, 2011, 6:29 am

seriously if the rm500 rebate is for tint then to me it is not a discount at all, honda partners with vkxxl, they can give u rm500 rebate simply becos vkxxl is a overpriced product with lousy GPS signal and no smarttag at all.  The price was marked up way higher before offer to us. I would rather to go outside install better tint at cheaper price with better GPS signal and the usability of smart tag.
*
at least better than nothing. btw wtf is vkxxl ? my SA gave me Agard tint film with RM 500 rebate from honda with best GPS signal (tested with PAPAGO, IGO and SYGIC software) and with smart tag installed. ehkem rclxm9.gif
