So meaning to say the best way for my next steps are;

1. Go to Spore for medical check up & signing of offer letter
2. Rcvd med check up result, all ok then employer will apply permit for me.
3. Wait for MOM result, once confirmed approved then I sent my resignation letter to my current employer.
4. Move to Spore, start working with the new employer using the white card, then settle the remaining procedures with MOM.

Is this is correct/best steps?

1st of all, u need to know what is ur current company notice period? also do you know when u should start working in SG?

last time my situation.

1. company applied permit for me, got he in-principle approval letter.
2. went down to SG and collect medical chit, on the same day, go do medical check up and the clinic say will help me submit to my company and to MOM once result is out.
3. after 1 week (medical results out), clinic call me say no problem with my medical report, and told me already submitted to my company.
4. throw resignation letter with my current company (1 week notice) and cabut to SG.
5. go to the WPSC (work pass service center) to submit the letters and photographs and also do thumbprint.
6. open bank account (prepare $500).
7. start work in SG.

all this things are done within 1 month. if u need 1 month notice, i suggest u to throw letter after u get the in-principle approval letter. because the medical check quite easy to pass 1. according to the doctor, as long as no AIDS, no respiratory decease, then shouldn't be a problem.

Oh...my steps is as mentioned above.

Just received e-mail for interviews in SG.
1 is those recruitment job, another 1 is sales. Both companies seem to be in small scale and pay less than 2k.
Is that worth?

If your new employer's SG office doesn't have RHQ status, it might be running out of slots for foreigners or MOM is applying their 'new post-election' criteria on applications.

Ya, give it a week and then call your new employer to follow up. Hope you didn't jump the gun and resigned on the Malaysia side already.

a lot of factory workers are crossing the causeway daily with only $800 pay. u say leh?

i am on if 28/5 on. the subsequent few weeks after 30/5 not available.

Added on May 18, 2011, 1:19 pmalso with factory transport provided + OT allowance. the basic + OT may slightly higher than 2k or nearing. some canteen also subsidized food or free tea break.
sometimes, can buy discount rate products (or refurbished) which lower than market price from factory.

You asked if the job's worth it. So, without providing more information about the job and yourself, do you just want us to simply guess the details?

Here's my tembak answer... $2K is definitely not worth it. Should only come to Singapore if they pay $8K or more. Need at least that amount to pay for house in Ipoh, house in KL and save up for a condo in SG.

maybe u shld see how much r u currently earning in Msia and ask urself wat is the purpose of u coming to spore
and u need to estimate the expenses to survive in spore (can refer to page 1 for example), then u shld roughly know can u survive or not.

as a new starter in Singapore, actually $2k is a lot. I am getting around RM3k last time and i get $2k in Singapore. I can feel that i am earning around $4k in Malaysia and live comfortably. Only thing u will feel expensive is the rental, other than that, everything else is cheap (dollar to dollar). my average expenditures is around $1k when i am staying in Singapore. Rental $400, food $300, Phone bill $50, transport $60 and another $100+ for junk food or simple shopping. then u get around $1k savings. Not to mention Singapore is a good place to develop. There are a lot of Job opportunity here. u can easily find a job which pay u 2k+ in a year or 2 time. seriously, i like and enjoyed working in Singapore
