hi sifu here, have a question regarding water quality.

I planned to install water pump and is replacing all piping in the house.
The contractor intended to source all outlet from tank since there is a pump for high pressure.

But someone told me that it is not recommended to use tank water as drinking water and better to use the direct fresh water from outside. Is this true????

Thank you

standard, kitchen is main, bathrooms from tank. If ur kitchen pressure is weak and u wanna connect to a pump but also worry of water quality, add a big carbon filter for main tap

drinking water wise nd a drinking water filter

I guess the reason is tank water may be stagnant too long, sometimes also got rat, lizard died inside, all kind of debris especially if the tank has been used for long time.
Some may be rusty as well.

For drinking water, it is always best to use filter, disregard it is fresh from water pipe or from tank.
Fresh water may have lot of dirt as well, and fresh water may come from old piping that is rusty as well.

One downside to having direct supply for drinking water is when no water that time, your only source of drinking water with a pou water filter is gone too.

i vote CM3-5PM1, this has been used in Malaysia for many years while scala2 is new. So, all customers reviews that grundfos is GOOD is actually referring to CH-PC model which is then upgraded to CM-PM (current model which is quite similar) but Scala2 is a totally new design

COmpared both, noise level wise CM3-5PM1 is lower compared to Scala2 but if u r staying in and old house and worry pressure too strong then get scala2 with variable speed and adjustable pressure

I am comparing between Scala 2, CM3-5PM1 and Uni E CM3-5.

After talk to some re-seller, they said that Scala 2 is actually having a lower noise level compare to CM3-5PM1? so which one is true actually?

Also been told that Scala 2 having electrical board issue and leakage issue when it first introduce to Malaysia market back in 2017. Have this quality issue being improve? Cause I planning to install the pump on the roof, if there is leakage, it won't be easy to notice.

Understood that the pressure tank that use on Uni E CM3-5 need to check the pressure at least once a year, is this a chargeable service by Grundfos? How much normally will it be? Is is possible to DIY?

1) scala2 and unie E = variable speed pump. so if u use 1 shower, pump run slow. So noise level is low. If u turn on more taps, pump run faster = cm3-5
anyway, grundfos pumps are not noisy at all, just vibration. So, when pump goes slow, vibration also less

2) UNI E, pump air can self diy, use bicycle pump only very ez, if u can climb up the ceiling, 100% u can do it.

Both also maintenance free, depending what u wan. if u wan less burden to pipe scala2, if u wan better durability, cheaper price and strong pressure than cm3-5

I know scala2 is built to be installed outdoor, for cm3-5, do we need to build a shed if we were to install it outdoor?

The grundfos pneumatic tank. Can it be installed on other brand pump? Will it works the same?

if the scala2 is too small for 3 bathroom. you may consider to choose pump that is bigger capacity Pedrollo DGPED which is the newly rival against scala2 with better design and super silent. One of my friend just recently bought this unit which Made in Italy and he is satisfy with the outcome. As he compared scala2 before purchase and found out that grundfos capacity is lower for 2 storey houses.
