yup, grundfos is better, tatz y it is more exp compared 2 other brands. Been selling them for many years, only focus on grundfos as other cheap brands will eventually give us headache (complains from customers)

Most would get the CH-PC model as it is cheaper and maintenance free. CH-PT model is more exp and need to pump air once a year and servicing around 3 years once. Most ppl would recommend to use CH-PT to make more profit and also to earn ur servicing fee every year.

Many shops will ask u to get CH-PT and will not advise u about the maintenance part. After 1 year+ if u dont pump air, your pump will start giving u problem. Since it is after the warranty period, u will call them to fix it. Usually they will need to change the tank (ard RM 300+) then advise u about the yearly maintenance thing. So, you will call them once a year to service the pump.

Usually i would advise my customers to prepare a switch whereby u can turn on/off the pump easily for maintenance or if u r going out and etc. I can include installation but do not cover preparing the wiring or switch. YOu will need to get your wiremen to prepare a socket point for my men to plug in the pump. U will need to drop by my showroom for detail explanation of the installation as it is not as ez as installing the inlet n outlet point. Installation takes around 2-3 hours.

Yeah, CH2-50PC is very powerful already. If u are using big rain showers like 12" and above, then u get CH4-40PC. Whether it is overpower or not, really depends on individual preference. Some might feel it is too strong but some feel it is not strong enough. For me, it is just nice. The reason many ppl install a water pump is to get strong water pressure to have a relaxing and comfortable shower after work.

usually what is the ideal.. water pressure..

and flowrate for taps/ water outlets eg pipe and sorts ?
*
Actually, Grundfos CH2-50PC is good enough for most houses.
- 0.75 HP
- Max Head : 45m
- Max Flow rate : 56 l/min

But if u are using big rain showers (10" and above), you might wan to get CH4-40PC to increase the flowrate.

what u mean overkill spec? U asked about flow rate so i thought u wan some technical data.

Yes, can pump up to maximum 45meter high but at that height, the flow rate is very low.

Briefly, this pump is sufficient to supply strong water pressure upto 5 person showering at the same time using small rain showers (below 10") or instant heaters.

yup....

usually is like that... one.. unless u take measurement of the original pressure , cause you said direct...

then set ur pump to be similar.. then should be no problem.. usually the leak will be at the joints/fitting areas...

its always a 50/50 risk.. thats why is best to get the right pump that gives the right amount of pressure..

else will bocor here and there...

Jinxxx u seem to know a lot about pumps, why would u ask me about flowrate at the first place?

Another way, install the pump first, mana bocor den fix where. But quite risky, i installed mine after 10 years also, luckily two areas bocor only.

wow, r u an engineer? I m amazed with ur research. Actually quite hard for consumers to calculate and factor in friction loss, gravity and etc. I went to many houses and tested Grundfos CH2-50PC, the pump is very powerful. SO, if u trust me, get CH2-50PC would b more than enough for most houses

You will not have leaking problem unless ur plumber did not connect the pipes properly. If they did not do a good job, a low HP pump will also cause a leak. There are bunglows using 2HP pump and there is no leak, so there is no reason that 0.75hp or 1HP pump can cause a leak.

Just get CH2-50PC as the price is RM 10-20 more exp than CH2-40PC only

the pump only consumes 0.5-0.6kW while ur water heater is 3.6kW. If u do not turn on the water, the pump will not operate and it consumes very very little electricity.

did u c the demo in my showroom? that pump is 1.5hp pump and my PVC pipe + flexible hose didnt crack or burst. Pipes can withstand minimum 5 times the pressure for grundfos pumps. THe only problem is, did ur plumber connect the pipes properly? If u got a good plumber, then do not worry about leaks or cracks.

Just recall that u gonna go for hitachi pump, thatz really 50% Grundfos price. Choosing a pump is like choosing ur toilet bowls, why u didnt go for Cheap brandless China toilet bowl which cost 50% cheaper than those Johnson Suisse toilet bowls that you bought from me? You r gonna stay in the house for many years and not 1 or 2 weeks, so ofcoz u wan to get something better and wouldn't give u headaches.
