QUOTE(suiteng @ Mar 12 2011, 06:05 PM) Or with MBB2 AMEX, you can sign up for 3 autopays and get 10k to waive your gst (until 15 Mar 2011 only, hurry!) Yah forgot about that, so it applies to MBB 2 AMEX also. I just transferred 3 autodebit with DiGi from Amex Gold CC to MBB 2 Amex 2 weeks ago Just posted article on Overseas Transactions. Conclusion MBB Visa vs MasterCard minimal difference BUT as zenquix mentioned before, Alliance MasterCard conversion rate is lower than Alliance Visa. So if you want to get Alliance CC, get the MC. I must thank zenquix for this info on Alliance MC as told my wife to get MC, actually I owe him two - 1) Alliance MC for my wife and 2) MBB Plat MC for me. Click here to read Overseas Transaction What Card Is The Best? Part II I also just posted an article where I show you instead of paying installment for unnecessary stuff with your credit card and pay interest, better put in FD, click here to read my article Investment Wealth Retirement is you got like many installment plans with credit card. Guys, also please go to link below and give your feedback if you agree or don't to a new section or sub-section for Credit Cards. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1788138 by the way, the link number nice, 1788138 This post has been edited by Gen-X: Mar 12 2011, 06:29 PM |

Just a little update ...
I used my MBB2 AMEX to purchase my hotel room from Agoda recently. Just before finalizing the transaction, I was given a choice to either be charged in RM or USD. (The RM rate is slightly lower than the USD rate before conversion to RM) I checked my M2U and it was charged exactly as the RM rate as Agoda mentioned without any surcharge. Bear in mind the transaction listed "AGODA HOOFDDORP NL" which I believe is based in the Netherlands. Yup ... 5x points for me! And thanks to the folks who gave me the tip earlier ! QUOTE(budakdegilz @ Mar 12 2011, 08:28 PM) thanks for your feedback.... It is based on gross salary. Your basic salary is RM1k, i guess this is the reason why all your applications were rejected.i already tried CIMB, Maybank and AEON and they all rejected my application... they all stated that the minimum salary was RM18000/pa my question is are the bank also look at your EPF statement?? becoz my EPF was deducted from my basic salary which is RM1000 p/s: are the rm18000/pa is base on the EPF deduction?? |

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Mar 12 2011, 01:47 PM) Yes, that is expected.I think both TGV and GSC started to impose service charge for e-ticketing quite some time ago. With almost 7.5% return from M2Amex, it is only advisable to use e-ticketing for purchase of at least 2 pax. QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Mar 12 2011, 01:49 PM) The CC tax is a government ruling permitted by an Act of Parliament, but you would be hard pressed to find it anywhere in the Malaysian Federal Constitution. Thanks for the correction.I used the wrong word. Shud not say Constitution. I just wanted to say that GST is imposed by the Government, hence its abolishment must be announced by the Government as well. Added on March 12, 2011, 9:20 pm QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 12 2011, 10:05 AM) Am afraid that paying Maxis bill via AMEX-linked PayPal is not possible, at least for today (12.3.2011). I'm sorry to hear that.Several attempts to do so via my MBBKard 2 Amex-linked Maxis-PayPal account resulted in the following message: Tried again by selecting PayPal option as payment type at the Maxis webpage after logging in, and thereafter entered my AMEX Gold Credit Card details (not my MBBKard 2 Amex which I have already linked) and my secondary email address (not the same as used for my Maxis-PayPal account) etc. Same error message appeared. In fact I am not a Maxis user, but I just wanted to share the news to you guys when I realized that PayPal users can indirectly use Amex to make payment. Regarding TGV and GSC booking thingy, I also haven't tried out yet. I live in "sankara" place, no cinema here Added on March 12, 2011, 9:33 pm QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 12 2011, 03:58 PM) In previous posts, correct me if i am wrong, there were talks about paying utility bills like TM, TNB, DIGI, ASTRO, etc using AMEX (i am using AMEX as example due to it's weekend's benefits). Go to www.payonline.uob.com.my , sign up an account, and you are ready to pay bills. Currently I am using cimbclicks and there is no such feature to pay bills using my CC, only direct from my saving account. I do not have a maybank2u online banking account yet, so I am wondering how the payments are done? Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted. If you have OCBC TITANIUM Mastercard, go ahead, use it. It has got 5% cashback for utilities. This post has been edited by chemistry: Mar 12 2011, 11:07 PM |

Guys, got major correction to my earlier post on HLB Fortune Visa at my blog. Someone pointed out that the Fortune cash back is capped at RM50 per month. I kind of remembered I read something on it but it was not stated in the brochure. So I called HLB and yes, there is a cap of RM50. But thats not all, to get the 1% cash back, must spend minimum RM1K with the Fortune card!
HLB really innovative. |
