i was meaning if there is 2 same focal range lens...but one is f2.8 (or higher), another one got VR....
you will rather choose which one?

because wan to know VR can perform better or bigger aperture in same low light environment.

all filters give reduction in IQ, chapalang ones are very obvious.
decent filters u wont notice that much IQ reduction on normal zoom lenses...
in studios also u may not want to use filters, cos can sometimes kena flare from the studiolights.
but on telephoto lenses, filters definitely not recommended.

18mm on DX should not cause vignetting. If got vignetting then remove the UV ba. But take note with 2 elements in front of your lens, image degrades more. ;-).

Actually I used the Hoya HD and B+W XS-Pro on my 1635 before... no differences in terms of vignetting.

Alright, noted. Just feeling lazy to change filters everytime. :/
