my first quote was rm 1.8k then final one was rm 1.2k @ 1.9k sq ft

Well the paint job charge is that cheap because he is also the contractor that renoy house. I guess must be special rate. The painter is indon but his paintjob is superb.

guys, ples give some opnion, my contractor charging me RM3500 for labour to paint my double storey hse, including painting the door, the outer layer, inner layer and ceiling. I'm the intermidiate, 22 X 75, but not including material... is this consider reasonable price? Thks in advance

I'm been quoted 8K / 9K and 10K for my 22x75 house (interiod / exteriod). the expensive area are the skim code which cheaper also costed 2.5K.
so for 22 x 75 house, guess should be around 5-5.5K are reasonable included paint (estimated 3K for Nippon)

But try to see what Indo will charge...

They are painting my house now. 22x75 double story. Price includes skim coating with sealer for all interior walls. 2x coats of Nippon spotless. Whole house plaster ceiling and some wood finishing (staircase railings) as well. Exterior painting for front facade and touch up back facade.

All in is RM8.4k. Still WIP, will update more when they are done. About 2 weeks job.

It's not the best price I found, but they gave me the most confidence and convenience.

do you guys remove the old painting before painting on the new coat ?

at least your area is big.  my ID quoted me 4k for 1200sf!!   

You have to allow some profit for your ID guy... else how can he cari makan?
You could always engage the painters directly. Then will be much cheaper; if cost is your concern

My friendly advise, nvr judge the painter service by the price they quoted you. Of course we need to do some comparison but what you paid what you get.

I recently appointed one contractor (he also advertise here in Low Yat of painting service), charge me RM1000 for my new condominium. But I am very disappointing with the workmanship. The painter is indo worker, one man gao tim everything. Not even do proper surface preparation work.

When asked him to come and do the touch up, the Indo workers complaint a lot..... end up i asked him go back and I myself do the touch up work.

My friend appointed a Chinese painter to paint, charge him RM1200, but workmanship is fantastic.

i hv a contact in klang. an indon worker painted de double storey semi-d in n out n de plaster ceiling all in RM2k. anyone interested ill pm de contact. the outcome is good worth of money value.

I was recently quoted for painting the whole house at 10k from my contractor, does it worth for a 22*70 double storey house at this price of course after renovation& extension alot of things to touch up

mine is including the paint and workmanship... the contractor told me that need to do some touch up since i just finished reno...

Gloss paint (for Wood and Metal)  are much harder to tackle than wall paint. I'll advice you let them do it. That is from my personal experience.

If you want to try, apply metal primer for grills, and wood primer for wood before apply actual paint coat.
