alphadog : Meaning it can be used to check focus when you are using manual focus.

Don't fret too much about the different words used. It's basically the same thing. The manual focus check live view gives you live view straight off the main sensor so that you can check the focus much more accurately.

shootkk: Not quite, that is misleading to say they mean the same thing because they are not.

What MF Check LV means is main-sensor LV (without AF) on the A450/A500/A550.

What Focus Check LV means is main-sensor LV (now, with CDAF and PDAF) on the A560/A580.

Quick AF LV is secondary-sensor LV (from the moving pentamirror) with PDAF.

Normal OVF uses PDAF.

* PDAF = phase detect autofocus
* CDAF = contrast detect autofocus

albnok : I know about the main sensor and Quick AF LV on secondary sensor but did not know about the AF/ non AF thingy coz I don't have the cams. I thought it was the same and stand corrected.

Heck, I dun even have LV!! Hahahahaha... I am all PDAF and OVF only!!

In my opinion about people copying this and that, companies will pour all resources to try and mimic a technology which is received well by the market. You can see that happening now! Apple technology vs Android + the world. Companies trying to mimic apple's technology as it sells so well! Iphone practically kills off all other phones at the same price range (8 out of 10 people in my place uses an Iphone, scary but true...)

SLT or mirrorless cameras will be the future of dslr as we do not need the mirror to direct the image to the viewfinder anymore (EVF is the future!). Old film DSLRs have to rely on mirrors to reflect the image onto its OVF. In the near future, most camera might be using EVF (if the quality of the EVF improves by leaps and bounds and our world not ending at 2012).

So by that time you might say that the most dominat techology during that time was copied from a pioneer. "wah, kodak, fujifilm, Contax (rise from the dead, FTW!) etc etc... copy Sony/Canon/Nikon/Oly/Pana/Pentax technology"

Therefore step aside all those branding...those who make a better product worth the praise despite mimicked from any other sources....

in the end the strongest will win... icon_rolleyes.gif

I am not joking.
Microsoft coping apple for their fonts, layout even more.
.Net idea comes from Java platform
SQL server comes from Oracle as the first success DBMS available in the market.

well Oracle idea copied by a lot lot big companies so what a big deal such as mySQL which eventually turn up become success and bought by Oracle themselves?

bing copy google
google copy yahoo.

Then my question is why is Microsoft platform still at the top most as the most pc sold? whistling.gif

Plan to have a 70-200 f2.8 new toy; between Tamron or Sigma.
Web review told me that Tamron have a good and sharp optic while focusing speed for Sigma is much better than Tamron.
Interm of price, both lens are in my budget.. which should I go ?Pls advise. Thx.
