Lemme guess, a33 is discontinued, the SLT got a bigger improvement esp for the A77 model and oh what else....

Hanging?

Erm, there is a known issue of flash delay, but so far, hanging is quite uncommon lol.

1st generation SLT's are seemingly a bit problematic now.

i know the bad news is attach with flash gun always delay for 1 or 2 sec, until now never have firmware sien.

acully is not popup lah, popup is normal, only F42+F58 got this problem, u try use F42 play macro, shutter almost close flash only flash. You go google find most ppl saying flash gun

wat type of condition will cause these "rare" issue to happen?

wah...hope they log this issue n get the R&D dept to fix it for future SLT releases...

I think even with f42, the problem persist. Not quite sure, need consult the sifu 1st before talking too much lol.

As long as the camera work, don't bother much lol.

Yup, is instantly but .... u will see u pic abit dark one. u try OVF and SLT compare then you know what i mean. Even SLT no support marumi macro ring too.

even you shoot object  OVF + SLT same setting same length u will feel diffrent one.

anyway i never use SLT do macro unbalance for me.
just want o share with u all got this problem issue only.

zstan: The rings binding has nothing to do with the frequency of cleaning or any chemicals. It is just friction.

Codyx: What exactly do you mean by hanging? I have not gotten it to hang before. However there will be a delay if you shoot a burst of shots and fill the buffer - it will take a long time to clear.

It does matter if you're not getting your facts right, or else people will get the wrong idea. Like "I heard from this guy in LYN that the A33/A55 has this problem can hang... but dunno exactly what and cannot prove." So please tell us how you got the problem so we can confirm if it really happens or not.

Some other guy said that the A560/A580 could AF while recording video over in another forum. I said "cannot lah but to be sure you try it before you buy", but he insisted it could. And then some fella bought it anyway thinking it could, thinking "oh I try later at home to make it AF in video even though at the shop, cannot..."

If you must make a claim, please do so responsibly.

fansoption: It is 500 milliseconds (half a second) not 1 or 2 seconds. You can try it yourself by shooting a stopwatch.

You know lah how it is with people here, see one fella say "this camera can hang" or "A560/A580 can AF in video" straight away they believe without reading further. (Okay, so people are stupid, but don't laugh when you see your statement up in SonyAlphaRumors.) So you absolutely have to be specific.

Also, if you post how to make it hang, the rest of us can try to see if we can get it to hang, and figure out what makes it hang.

hmmm..so means if you delete the photo while zooming in it will hang?

codyx, didnt we talk bout it, i think it was hardware issue, specifically on your, but since now you pointed out other A33/55 has the issue, it could be a firmware issue. let's see if sony get reports of it oversea. if just firmware, then fix will be out soon as soon as sony japan gets the pressure from public.

also, since u know how it was trigger, maybe u could try not to 'trigger' it by not using that moves.
