Hanging?

Erm, there is a known issue of flash delay, but so far, hanging is quite uncommon lol.

Well, good luck to you then.

1st generation SLT's are seemingly a bit problematic now.
*
flash delay is liddat one..but i never use pop-up...lol...got F42 edi.. biggrin.gif

the machine on 'certain conditions' will hang and you'll need to pop the battery out and put em back to reset it...

occur on ALL SLT a55 and a33...even the technician also 拜 me for identifying such rare issue sweat.gif

Added on April 4, 2011, 4:05 pmgood luck for all SLT users....do update when New Firmware is Out....

it will HANG according to the situation i encountered...i din't explain how the problem occurs because i might confuse people or make people misunderstand when explained as the problem hardly occurs except done with 'experienced' people who suffer the issue...i have made testing to many SLT and confirmed the problem exist....technical wise dun ask me for details as i won't tell you now...believe it or not up to you guys

QUOTE(albnok @ Apr 4 2011, 05:07 PM)
zstan: The rings binding has nothing to do with the frequency of cleaning or any chemicals. It is just friction.

Codyx: What exactly do you mean by hanging? I have not gotten it to hang before. However there will be a delay if you shoot a burst of shots and fill the buffer - it will take a long time to clear.

It does matter if you're not getting your facts right, or else people will get the wrong idea. Like "I heard from this guy in LYN that the A33/A55 has this problem can hang... but dunno exactly what and cannot prove." So please tell us how you got the problem so we can confirm if it really happens or not.

Some other guy said that the A560/A580 could AF while recording video over in another forum. I said "cannot lah but to be sure you try it before you buy", but he insisted it could. And then some fella bought it anyway thinking it could, thinking "oh I try later at home to make it AF in video even though at the shop, cannot..."

If you must make a claim, please do so responsibly.

fansoption: It is 500 milliseconds (half a second) not 1 or 2 seconds. You can try it yourself by shooting a stopwatch.
*
that's why i said " see you guys on PC Fair " lor....aiyo....if i can put the method in words i already do so....please don't misinterpret me sweat.gif

btw, i myself also shocked how come sony allows such issue without any patch or update till now

Video got....showed to the staffs @ service center....but that's is not a problem...the problem is how to make it 'hang' as for the situation take places....when i said it HANG......the whole system freeze and none of the button will work plus you can't even turn off the camera....resolve to pulling the battery out and run it again....

Added on April 4, 2011, 5:42 pm
QUOTE(albnok @ Apr 4 2011, 05:37 PM)
Codyx: Well then, record a video of it hanging if you cannot put it in words.

You know lah how it is with people here, see one fella say "this camera can hang" or "A560/A580 can AF in video" straight away they believe without reading further. (Okay, so people are stupid, but don't laugh when you see your statement up in SonyAlphaRumors.) So you absolutely have to be specific.

Also, if you post how to make it hang, the rest of us can try to see if we can get it to hang, and figure out what makes it hang.
*
then i think the best way for all these is to keep quiet until i can explain further detail in reality without people suspecting...anyway...what people said doesn't matters to me....as i am just some ramdon guy declaring something....we all know the internet is not 100% trustable including myself as a element.......i though so.... ohmy.gif

1 open a picture
2 zoom on the picture, you may navigate the zoom
3 test your EVF sensor whether is it working
4 delete your photo(while in zoom factor) WHILE activate the Live>EVF sensor SIMULTANEOUSLY
>>>NEED PRACTICE/REPEATING
5 Hang...

Pull your battery out to reset

Step 4 requires practice or repeatation

NOTE:
Tested with other machine(a55/a33) beside this and all have the similar problem, Tried Using different Mem. card and battery, with or without lens...

Do not blame me if you can't work out with the situation as i teach the SONY technician and demonstrate with him for whole day for him to work the problem(cause the problem) to occur...and they tested with all other machine which show the same sign

don't ask me why i do this sequence because normally i'll use EVF for all purposes including deleting/viewing bla bla bla...so in reality, when i delete a photo(after zoom) which coincidentally similar with the 'steps' above the problem occurs...

Comments welcomed..

hmmm..so means if you delete the photo while zooming in it will hang? rclxub.gif
*
You need to make sure the photo is in a 100% zoomed state/Magnify...then proceed to the activating EVF sensor + Deleting the photo with the zoomed state...hard to explain....that's why i choose not to explain then confuse you guys earlier sad.gif

codyx, didnt we talk bout it, i think it was hardware issue, specifically on your, but since now you pointed out other A33/55 has the issue, it could be a firmware issue. let's see if sony get reports of it oversea. if just firmware, then fix will be out soon as soon as sony japan gets the pressure from public.

also, since u know how it was trigger, maybe u could try not to 'trigger' it by not using that moves.

trying to developing a fail-safe move for my sake now laugh.gif
