Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

About the Club

Real Madrid Club de Fútbol (commonly known as Real Madrid or Madrid) is a Spanish sports club best known for its football team. It is the most successful team in the world and has even been named "The Best Club of the 20th Century" by FIFA in 2000, having won a record 31 La Liga titles, 17 Spanish Cups, a record 9 European Cups and 2 UEFA Cups. Founded in 1902, Real Madrid has since spent all of its history in the top flight of Spanish football. The club's home colours are their legendary all white and they play their home games at the 80,354-capacity Santiago Bernabéu football stadium. Unlike most European football clubs, Real Madrid's members (socios) have owned and operated the club since its inception.

The Crest

user posted image

The first crest of Real Madrid had a simple design consisting of a decorative interlacing of the three initials of the club, "MCF" for Madrid Club de Fútbol, in dark blue on a white shirt. The first change in the crest occurred in 1908 when the letters adopted a more streamlined form and appeared inside a circle. The next change in the configuration of the crest did not occur until the presidency of Pedro Parages in 1920. At that time, King Alfonso XIII granted the club his royal patronage which came in the form of the title "Real", roughly translated as "Royal". Thus, the crown was added to the crest and the club styled itself Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. With the dissolution of the monarchy in 1931, all the royal symbols (the crown on the crest and the title of Real) were eliminated. The crown was replaced by the dark mulberry band of the Region of Castile. In 1941, two years after the end of the Civil War, the "Real Corona", or "Royal Crown", was restored while the mulberry stripe of Castile was retained as well. In addition, the whole crest was made full color, with gold being the most prominent, and the club was again called Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. The most recent modification to the crest occurred in 2001 when the club wanted to better situate itself for the twenty-first century and further standardize its crest. One of the modifications made was changing the mulberry stripe to a more bluish shade.

The Kit

user posted imageuser posted image

Real Madrid's traditional home colours are all white. The clubs' nicknames "Los Blancos" ("The Whites") and "Los Merengues" (after the dessert meringue) were influenced by it. The kit initially adopted a blue oblique stripe on the shirt; but unlike today, dark blue socks were worn. The striped shirt was replaced by an all-white version, modeled after the shirt worn by Corinthian F.C. in 1902. In the same year, the blue socks were replaced by black ones. By the early 1940s the manager changed the kit again by adding the club's crest on the left breast (which have remained ever since). On 23 November 1947, in a game against Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium, Real Madrid became the first Spanish team to wear numbered shirts.

Madrid's traditional away colours are all black or all purple. The club's kit is currently manufactured by Adidas and their current shirt sponsor is bwin.com

With Higuain and Benzema both out, its time for Adebayor to shine, really lucky for Real to have sign him on loan during the Jan transfer.

Probably out according to club's doctor but Mourinho might take a risk to give any minutes to injured players.

Jose Mourinho says he may take a "risk" and play Cristiano Ronaldo in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho, who on Saturday night surrendered his nine-year, 150-game unbeaten record in league home matches when Real Madrid lost to Sporting Gijon, had previously ruled Ronaldo out of the game with a hamstring problem.

However, Mourinho will meet with his top scorer, as well as the injured Karim Benzema and Marcelo, to establish whether the three players are willing to take a gamble on their fitness of the game at the Bernabeu.

"If he [Ronaldo] has a chance it's because he and his coach are taking a risk, because the information from the medical department is that he can't play, that he can only play in the game in Bilbao [next weekend]," Mourinho said.

"But if the two of us and only the two of us decide that he's going to play then the risk is mine and his. Tomorrow I will talk with the injured players and decide if we will risk them."

Even if Ronaldo is unable to declare his availability then at least Real saw the unexpected return of Gonzalo Higuain to first-team action on Saturday night. The striker had not played since November after undergoing surgery on a herniated disc but returned ahead of schedule to play against Sporting.

Higuain said: "On an individual level I'm very happy. People believed I would miss the entire season, but I managed to show that statistics aren't everything in life. It was not a challenge or a competition with anybody, it was a matter of pride for myself to show that I could be back ahead of schedule.

"I was able to achieve that and I feel very comfortable. The key to the recovery was fighting hard, not letting myself get down and battling for what I love most, which is to play football.

"I'm grateful to all the coaching staff, the doctors, fans, my team-mates, my family and to myself. I'm very happy to be able to feel like a player again, although this wasn't quite the dream comeback I was hoping for."

i would said that last match was a bad luck for us.. we did have tons of opportunities.. but we fail to at least equalized.. really bad luck at very wrong timing.. we have crucial month ahead and we faced numbers of injuries.. haih..

so, obviously.. we can say that we had just gave the title to barca.. anyway.. hopefully we can win CL or at least CDR.. no more trophy-less season plss..

there is no problem finish second.. the special one said a months ago..
last game not our luck.. most our players suffered fatigue on the pitch after the euro qualification.. with several players are injured too..

no creative player.. we depend on ozil and maria.. but them also collapsed... not really shine.. just reff not our side.. should be 1-2 chance of penalty, at least game end as draw should be ok.. but lost.. title hope were gone..

As we play on our turf, attacking is a MUST thing to do. so here is my prefer starting XI:-

Casillas, Marcelo, Carvalho, Pepe, Ramos, Diarra, Xabi, Khediera, Oezil, CR9, Papita. formation : 4-3-2-1

my prediction, spurs will play counter and crossing as they will supply ball to either Bale (if he fit to play) or Lennon. and crouch will be the target man.

hope we can win at least 2-0..

yup.. we really dont have any choice, but IMO, it worth to take risk as we only have 2 trophy left for grab.
playing CR9, Marcelo, Kaka or any injured/half fit players really a big risk but, as mentioned we dont have any choice and we need to win this match at a great margin.

2nd leg will be very depending on this match, it is still an open game for me, anyteam can beat anyteam, so teams that performed with less mistake obviously will win.. it is either do or die.. cool2.gif

We dont have to risk everything especially in just the first leg of a CL game. Doing so will only end up with eggs on our faces. Mou has already indicated a similar sentiment. We'll try to score for sure. But keeping a clean sheet should be the priority. We need to make sure that we arent left chasing the game in the 2nd leg.

Depends how Di Maria plays on the opposite site ! If he takes on the Spurs defenders frequently , then Bale will be forced to back off. Oso please mourinho dun play with 3 def midfielders ! drop either Lass or Khedira. Finaly i hope Higuain starts over Adebayor who is total waste mad.gif

you forget that when bale scored hattrick against inter, he dribble run the ball deep from his on half
so if ramos overlap like crazy tonight, bale might run and leave ramos behind

Adebayor seeks permanent Real deal

QUOTE
On-loan Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed he wants to make a permanent switch to the Bernabeu this summer.

Adebayor boosted his chances of earning a full-time deal by scoring twice in Real's 4-0 Champions League demolition of Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, having previously netted just once in La Liga for Jose Mourinho's side.

The 27-year-old, who joined City for £25 million from Arsenal in 2009, moved to Spain in January after finding his first-team opportunities limited at Eastlands, making two starts this season under Roberto Mancini.

"At the the moment I am enjoying myself and at the end of the season I will see what happens," Adebayor said. "I'm not under pressure at all, and at the end of the day I still have a contract with Manchester City.

"My main aim is to play football, and I'm here, I'm playing, I'm very happy. Yes, I would love to stay here, but you never know in football what will happen next."

Ronaldo best friends in real madrid is Marcelo but I recently find out while CR was still at Manu, they had a small fight during international match.

5 nil to spurs.

only to be beaten with the same amount of goal @ the Santiago Bernabéu this weekend. i hope so not!!

im a madrid fan. but i dont think they gonna past barca this time around. the team is just not strong enuff for barca.

anyway this weekend classico will a be an acid test of how would madrid end up this season. their Season is shaped by having to beat their greatest enemy thats stands between them from copa del Rey & C.league . La liga is considered lost i surely think.

BTW theres rumours circulating that sahin would be a target nxt smmer... i hope it materializes cause sahin is really great. he`s ozil & alonso combined.

Added on April 15, 2011, 1:02 amThe most valueable moment is the 'environment.' The singing crowds. How the way supporters sing for every player. Even Maurinho oso got his own song.. i never watched any Arsenal match in Emirates yet. Hopefully this new season.. cheers to all madrid's supporters!

Mourinho know his tactic better than all of us. There is no right or wrong to play defensive even on home ground. It is Barcelona, they will raped you if you left your backline exposed. Beside, Mourinho has beaten Barca with this tactic. There is no time for pride and honour, 3 or 1 points will do it. At this stage Real Madrid couldn't afford to drop points.

duno why but i got a feeling this game wasnt mourinho priority
just to save face only
he sure target cup final and champion league
just my 2 cents

anyway, back to the game
as far as the tactic is concern, i think so far it works
counter got di maria
pepe play defensive midfield quite well

Barca has been proved can perform well no matter home or away. They're not easily intimidated by opposition noise and boos, that's why they only lost 1 match on La Liga. Mourinho can't take 100% gamble and play like the usual way against opponent such as Barca who is deadly on the counter attack. And as i mention before if Barca win they will have 11 points advantage. He need to tweak his formation and strategy a little bit.

If RM can hold on until 70 minutes they have chance to steal this, because Barca usually slow down a little bit after 70 minutes due to excessive running and footwork. Oh, Oezil, Adebayor, Higuain and Kaka are on the bench. Mourinho got a lot of option if he decide to more attacking approach later.

I NOW THInks the team have mental toughness to beat barca. In nou camp last winter they looked afraid and jilted to the core against barca(you can see the fear in each player on that time). But now there is a sense of fighting spirit , unity and hunger withing the team. its a draw but its a really good draw something to be built on for the upcoming 3 classicos. Both team were completely equal in terms of chances. (nevermind number of passes its what barca do actually collecting no of passes).

Pepe in Midfield really suprises all, i bet Pep thought Mourinho must be using 5 defenders at the start of the game.
almost a masterclass tactics from Mou he nullified barca midfield with ease. Ronaldo was his usual self running and dribbling
as always and with 1 men down the inclusion of oezil and adebayor really pays off. If not for adebayor clumsy ball control i really think we could go 1 or 2 up against barca.

Beat barca in the final copa del rey and we can see them flop in C.league , in this game it proves their mental edge is gone against madrid. Plus with puyol seems injured again i dont think pique can control the defense on his own. I wont whine at the end of this season with no La Liga but the 2 "other" Trophy. Treble is Gone but Double is Great to.

seriously.. put pepe as a DM was really brilliant idea.. we can saw that barca kind off lack of freedom in the center.. superb tactic by the special one.. Pepe is just like a bulldozer.. and he control and try to get the ball well from opponent.. i can see that we have chance to win copa del ray and CL as well..

Awesome mourinho.. really cant wait to see CDR Final. We win this cup.. i would say we can beat barca in CL..

next 3 games, it won't be that simple.......expect guardiola to deal with pepe.......though guardiola is in a rival team, but i don't have any problem giving the man the full respect and admiration for what he has done at barcelona........the man is a genius.....

don't read too much into this game......scoring with 10 men, pepe's nice work and all........remember that barcelona will no doubt feel the pressure whenever they play at santiago bernabeu just like when real madrid play at nou camp.......nothing much to read into this game if you ask me........

jose knows the league is out of reach.......perhaps so does guardiola.......the next 3 games are crucial to real madrid........ i dare say that barca will romp all over pepe, xabi alonso and khedira mercilessly in copa del rey and at nou camp in the champions league......

that said, i think real madrid as a team has a better physical condition.........

i have some concern over casillas though, when at the final whistle, i think he was calling a few players back to the pitch to appreciate the crowd or something? barca did that last night......

no due respect for the captain of real madrid?

why does cryuff talk so much? look at this

http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2011/...mourinho-doesnt

maybe he should say that sir alex doesn't care about football too when they played arsenal.....

he is trying to rile up people.......he should just coach his son on how to cross.......

Di Stefano complained about how Real Madrid played in Santiago Bernabeu against Barcelona....

Question: you want to win ugly and have result? or play fancy football like arsenal but no results?

they all should have anticipated that wan they hire Mourinho as their coaches

Chelsea... Inter..all defensively sound... and look at how many trophy he won for them?

negative coach? I would rather call that tactical move to make Barca ineffective.

while Barca can dominate the possession.... how do the opponent play good football?

it's entirely impossible .....

He sounds like Wenger who whine when a physical team like Stoke get a draw and prevent them from getting all 3 points

there's a different approach at different times to adopt attacking style or defensive play ....

those will not change the approach will eat their own dust one day...

look back to Arsenal... no less than Barcelona in attacking flair ..but they often lack plan B

But understand where di stefano come from.he wants good football and results, like the real madrid of old.
Real fans want good football, mou wants results.its hard to say if real madrid will chane mou or mou will change madrid.i am suspecting real madrid will be real madrid, good football is a must.mou will go one day

the main cause is florentino perez himself...
his galatico concept
buying stars instead of breeding in youth academy

see from man utd of 98....barcelona of 07

it's not real play like tat every league match...
it's a special tactic to counter Barcelona
and it's the sole reason Mourinho join Real
tis is only the 1st season ...while Barca players already play with each other for at least few years
sure there is some different in quality of game play if the quality of players are indifferent

give mourinho some time
Inter did not win every outright in his 1st season in Italy ...like I said
the defensive tactic is the only way to upset the current Barcelona
im sure he will come out with better approach next season ...

and wad can u do when the other team is the best in keeping possession

how to play beautiful football against them? no team will ever get higher possession time against them

not even Arsenal

success and good football are not instant cup noodle
3 mins then u can taste it already

SAF oso on the verge of being sack before winning his 1st trophy

even the beautiful football obsessed professor had hard time against them....

btw..Rafa approach to game isnt better than Mourinho...

wan beautiful game..should go for wenger....

and then... there will be ppl complain there's no success...

remember wad happened when real going for attacking football and ended up 5-0 slaughtering by barca

and when this happens again and again... will Di Stefano be happy? will the fans be happy?

expect the current barca can maintain their game play for at least 5 years ...

As mentioned by mourinho, this is one-off game, one team will going home with the cup and another will be empty-handed. So, balance-slightly-defensive-would be the best thing to do.. IMO, put kaka or any other creative midfielder will just doom our chance to get the cup.

With out a doubt, barca is always the better side in possession, so we need another approach to counter that, playing catching with barca will just make u tired and it is useless. If im not mistaken, the special one also mentioned about don't-want- ball type of football when against barca.. coz he knows that barca can hold the ball effectively.

So, to me. the best thing to do is, solid defense and hit them on counter attack. We did have a chance to win in the clasico last sunday, we have pretty good amount of chance and we should used it effectively. If u guys see what Rubin Kazan did to barca, when they won couple of years ago, solid defense + Effective counter. That the only way to play with Barca.

Mourinho know that we cant cope with the fluent-passing-type (in fact we all know), at least not for now or maybe in 2 or 3 years from know, i can see we can be as good as barca. what do u expect when mourinho only 1 year with us and he made us to Final CDR and semifinal CL. it is good enough, IMO. But as always, we demand more and unfortunately, we have to get over barca to be the best. Which is now the best team in the world.

ok, bact to the topic, i chose khediera becoz (and i hope) mourinho will use him the same way he used pepe. so we have 2 player to mess-up with barca's tiki taka. If u were aware from last clasico, The tiki taka things was slightly not effective becoz of pepe thumbup.gif .

tiki taka was not effective because, yes pepe, as well as khedira and xabi alonso hassling the barca trio........

i think all three will play tonight.......but it would be nice to see kaka and ozil flanking ronaldo up front, but then again, judging by their work rate to track back, mou might not use them......

agreed biggrin.gif

barca tiki taka really interesting before this.. but got bored with last game because they always keep in their side.. when come to the midfield.. we got pepe over there, then bounce back to their side.. really wasting time.. sweat.gif

++ look likes they really depend on iniesta + xavi through ball or lob, then pedro + villa + messi to received that kind of tactics.. doh.gif , that's our defend awareness weakness actually rclxub.gif
lets crush puyol and pique tonite.. tongue.gif

I hope we play with abit more confidence now. These guys are good enough to pass the ball around not aimlessly hoofing up the field every time. Stick with the same formation and tactic but move up the pitch better when we have the ball

its mourinho, so errmm he has the formula to beat barca hahaha
iker, marcelo, di maria were completely insane, they were brilliant and i think this is what football fans all over the world want, this group of great and expensive player starting to blending and perform well, n this couple of weeks will be exciting moment for all football fans, where -i can say- 2 clubs which has the best form and shape in the world will meet.

cant wait to watch my dream UCL final this season, madrid vs MU biggrin.gif

Sergio Ramos' Copa del Rey celebration started off graceful enough with a short routine he performed on the pitch using a matador's cape after Real Madrid's 1-0 win over Barcelona at the Mestalla. But once he did a bit more celebrating, things took a turn for the worse.

When Real arrived back in a rain-soaked Madrid and boarded an open-top bus that would take them to the center of the late-night celebrations at the Plaza de Cibeles, Sergio Ramos took hold of the Copa del Rey trophy and held it high above his head at the front of the bus as it moved slowly through the streets. Maybe it was the rain, maybe it was all the jubilant jostling on the bus or maybe it was just Sergio Ramos being a spaz, but at approximately 4:15 a.m., the trophy slipped out of his hands and fell under the bus. Seriously. This is something that happened. Less than 24 hours after winning the thing for the first time since 1993 and Sergio Ramos broke it.

So with the trophy lodged under the bus' front bumper, the driver had to stop and get out as a group of cops came over to pry it out. The celebration continued on and everyone seemed far too happy to be upset about the accident. Somewhere, Pep Guardiola watched and chuckled, knowing that his telekinesis worked.

This match isn't about a difference in quality. It's about Valencia getting their tactics wrong.
What prompted Emery to play with such a high line I have no idea. It's played right into our hands though. We are best when it comes to counter-attacking.

idk for me real look real menacing with that forward lineup, especially when forming a counter attack, kaka, benzema and higuain really combines well in a one two passes, they should stick with them in champions league match against barca..
ozil & di maria always keep losing ball cheaply, they should become a substitute instead

Ozil and Di Maria will start against Barca. Simply because they have a higher work rate. Valencia didn't defend or press particularly well. Barca on the other hand are a whole other story.

y they lose ball? bcos the pressing game by barca....
barca can keep possession like football training
valencia cant do tat
hence kaka benzema and higuain pretty much of a luxury in the team

i predict same lineup with copa del rey final except carvalho and khedira replaced by albiol and diarra

adebayor will come up late in the game
to provide physical hassle to the tired barca backline.

but no idea whether ozil will start or not ...

Why not Mourinho try this kind of trio. No more 3 defensive midfielder there. Hahahaha biggrin.gif I dun think so, just my fantasy starting XI for madrid squad to face barca.

yup.. Agreed with zero.. u cant try this formation in fifa.. hehe.. even in FM.. i dont think u can win against barca.. heheh.. this would be nice attacking force.. but i believe we will be trashed even more if we are using this kind or formation. no balance at all.. hehehe.. tongue.gif

Missed score frenzy from the match last sunday morning.. huhu.. just thinking of watching highlight this evening..
is our team really good or Valencia are crap? form what ivr read.. we just play superbly and valencia the other ways.. rite?

for in coming CL.. i would like to have a lil bit attacking formation as (IMO) we are quite confident (moral against barca and barca the other way around) after the victory in CDR.. my preferred formation in CL 1legs:

Casillas

Arbeloa-Ramos-R.Albeol-Marcelo

Alonso-Pepe

CR7-Ozil-Di Maria

Higuan

As we are playin in SB, so winning+clean sheet is a must or have a mountain to climb..

Garay is slower but he makes up for it with better positioning. Remember it's Carvalho whom we are replacing and hes no speedster. And since Ramos will be paired with him I'm not too worried about his pace. Albiol however is prone to individual mistakes this season. It's two games in a row that hes bern tugging on strikers' jerseys. I just dont trust him not to f*ck up in such a big game like this.

Barca, Real world sport's biggest payers
QUOTE
Barcelona shelled out an average of $7,910,737 per player while Real forked over $7,356,632 for each of their stars. In terms of overall wage spend, the football clubs would rank even higher against their NBA cousins due to the smaller rosters required in basketball.

the problem is carvalho suspension
raul albiol does have the height but judging from 1st of the 4 clasico games (real 1 barca 1), he is a liability
ramos as a center back is worrying me
he better attack than def
so is marcelo

here's a thought, mourinho's real vs barca
first game lose, then draw then win
all game got real player sent off (ramos, albiol, and di maria)

ops
forget to add mourinho also sent off to the stand

btw, chelsea vs barca is not about red card
its about handball/penalty claim... in my opinion it is still based on circumstances
but red card for last 5 games with them... rclxub.gif

From the first whistle, Barca's tactic was 2 get a Real Madrid player sent off to get extra space. well they succeeded in that.

Saying that, Mourinho could have played better attacking players as the home side. But major difference 2nite was Carvalliho' expense. Albiol is not his replacement

I was expecting a good and tense game but seriously the ref totally ruined the game. pepe's challenge wasn't direct. I mean the red card was harsh. sergio and pedro took acting class. kudos to messi he took the chances well. sad day for real but we'll bounce back.

i never liked him before, his pass rate? fail..scoring? fail..ball possession?fail..dribbling?? haha..anyway there are already 2 defensive midfielders , what u need is1 midfielder who can penetrate thru barca midfielders and provide the ball to forwards and pepe is useless in that role, he can only tackle, tackle and tackle..we have impressive diarra in that role alrdy , put KAKA la instead..aduh stupid maurinho

aduh maurinho fans spotted..elaborate your so called work rate if you not even wanna chase the ball and even lose the ball cheaply..those 2 forwards i mention are goalscorers, in match like this their experienced and decisive touch is important, and of course we need goals..not someone who can run 100 meter for 90minutes..at least maurinho can bring them in in the last 10 minutes..but that didnt happened

fyi the macth was in 2008, and barca were already a possession-type team consist of deco+ronaldinho+messi+iniesta..but we played differently in tactical and motivation, tonight was disaster tactically

I agree that RM should've chased the ball and give better pressure. going deep is fine if the mid constantly pressuring their possession. but as a home team we should've done better. clearly ronaldo was frustrated because of this. also, losing pepe was too much to bear.

well..i agree..
but different players and gameplay altogether...cant compare

tiki taka is some sort of antifootball like wad some had mentioned
but im not against it...

to some people who think putting more forwards = more scoring chance against Barca
im speechless...

when win time...no say anything
when lose time...complain banyak...

p/s: if no tiki taka...im pretty sure u will see the old real madrid.. smile.gif

Well, these are our beloved El Clasico. Apart from the 5-0 match, all other EL Clasicos were full of unprofessional antics and theatrics, both on and off the pitch. And coincidentally it happened when The Special One managed Madrid. Or is it really coincident?

Get rid of Mourinho quickly.

come on don't write Mou off too quickly. this is after all his first season with RM and getting back copa del rey is still a positive achievement for madrid's revival.

perhaps Mou didn't use the best tactic this time. anyway mind games or not, RM will not be too pleased with his statement of giving up the final.

Really bad bad game.. we played with no intention to win.. we just focus on defending and to get a draw.. what a stupid tactic deploy by the special one. Pepe's red card is the one which actually kill us. without a doubt, that kill our morale and gave barca more spaces..

After several Clasico, i would agree that barca's tiki taka is kind of anti-football.. how u want to play real football when opponent just passing the ball among their defender? How u want madrid to become "OLD" madrid when u play among ur defender? We cant pressure like crazy but end up to open holes and will be penetrated by their forward? Trust me, no way in this earth that teams can play proper football with this tiki taka thingy.

however, this is one of the ugliest match i ever saw beside chelsea vs barca last time.. im pretty disappointed with approach taken by the special one.

Anyway, congrat to barca. Hope to see u again next season. smile.gif

Another 90minutes @ Nou Camp with different approach.

0-2 perhaps. Then will go all out at extra time.

Pepe & Ramos out! So, I dun think mourinho will use same tactics. Attack all the way.

Come on guys, behind your team please. Hala Madrid!

ok vs copa del rey we can see real attacks barca on the first half...but that doesnt necessarily means it will work on this match!

bear in mind, when 0-0 jose wants to sub lass for kaka but bammm straight red card for pepe which disrupt the plan.

yeah, i feel kaka would have changed the game. already before the red card, barca was playing bad. couldn't pass the ball properly. their mental disturbed with aggression of madrid. this was the perfect time for kaka to kill the game.

yup.. agreed, the tactic is understand-able, but me think, last night match is waaaayyyy tooo unorganized and for the sake of getting a draw.. we just shot the ball forward and pray for miracle? Not a chance, barca play deep last night, that why we cant do any counter as CDR final.

To me, we cant do anything in 2nd leg, as we know that barca can play possession football all day long, they will keep on playing the ball in their zone like forever, pressing is the way forward. But, as u know, pressing too high will always open up holes as will be penetrated by barca player.

To be honest, 2nd goal was waaayy too easy, it was mistake by albiol, this will not happen if we have carvalho. 2nd legs, the same sh!t happen, carvalho in, ramos out. So, mind games or not, i kinda agree that barca is the one who will be proceed to the final. Anyway, hope that we can give a good fight in NC.

And about the red card.. to me, it was a harsh decision, to be honest, it was 50-50 challenge. Anyway, let bygones be bygones. Our 10th is seems sooo close yet so far, hope Mourinho will stick with us and we come back stronger next season. flex.gif

i love Mourinho.. he make football (@press conference at least) much more interesting.. but i think his days at Madrid are numbered if he fail to overturn this tie..

his tactic are obvious. he done that (and success) with Inter last year. he have a better set of players this time. maybe lack of discipline are the problem. doubt he'll set a same tactic @Nou Camp.

and hid statement (about UEFA, UNICEF etc) are very strong (and wild) statement.. i believe UEFA will take seriously and disciplinary action will follow..

i prefer Madrid to win it, but dont care if they dont. more fireworks (goals, yellow, red etc) on 2nd leg please..

i'm fine with JM tactic last night. ok barca might argue they have 99% of the posession and they're just can not penetrates the defence until like what? pepe's redcard?

in CL, away goal is like 2 goals.

u concede it, u're one corner behind.

yeah i do think jose wants to go for draw this time...

Normally this kind of refreeing decision in favour of Barca will take place in the second leg. For once, it happened in the first leg whch gives us some hope to turn it around.

Hundred or maybe thousand possibilities can be stated with regards of "IF", so nothing we can do about this, hoping that miracle and lady lucky is on our side when we play 2nd leg in NC.

IMO, the only chance we can have : we can score 1st and the goal come in the 1st half. Other that this, Istanbul-Miracle will never happen again.

i dono, i have a feeling that, if we play other than barca, that mission seems like possible. As an open play,we will never know who will win the match until the final blow. But, to be honest, facing barca with tiki taka thingy, our chance is close to nothing. cry.gif cry.gif

IMO, Barca was using the right tactic by focusing on getting the opponent sending-off, that the only chance they have to penetrate and that the only things seem logical (at least to me) why they just passing the ball around, and waiting for the challenge to come.

hi bro, i agree with u.. as a barca fan, there is no way we can play our games against defensive minded team & physical games plan done by mourinho... like 2 previous meeting, there is no room for us to attack... thats the lesson that pep finally learn from 2 previous games.. so, in order to win against team as good as madrid, we have to do this... pepe is the man that we have to target... pepe is the heart of madrid defensive & physical minded games.. if he is not there, we have a chance to win...n its proven already... if u aware last nite, messi was trying to driblle all around pepe few times.. seems like he wanted pepe to tackle him n get yellow card... just my 2 cents guys... tongue.gif

i meant Barca... i used to think that barca were very 1 dimensional and never changed their tactics....now it seems they have 2 obvious tactics:

Plan A: pass the ball around and hope to score a goal:

if things dont go well then;

Plan B: roll on the floor holding your face for 2 minutes every time someone touches you.. the 10 remaining teammates (including valdes f.f.s) surrounds the ref and pressure him. repeat till a player gets sent off. then continue with plan A

every team should get barca's medical staff.. they put the nerves of the players chest in their faces and apparently fast treatment for alves is speedy.. BEST.

Platini: Yesterday's Barcelona is the best side I ever seen. Unlike EPL teams. Ban them!

True.. Feel that someone should give suspensions if they feign injuries when there is CLEARLY no contact to that whatever part..

For example, mascherano holding his face when there is CLEARLY no contact to his face in the COPA final.. Barca signature move. lol

Din watch todays game, so cant give examples.. lol

I think La Liga referees pretty much used to Barcelona's antic. they wont fall for that. But in Europe the referees not used 2 this n easily can be conned.

Plus yesterday's referee a self declared fan of Messi

Even Pep also done that El Clasico last year. Ronaldo didn't touch his face at all. The master taught them well.

That wan still understandable.. Pep got back problem, he had surgery recently.. laugh.gif

CR shouldnt touch him anyways.. Cause when losing alot things would be deemed as wrong..

Meh.. I din watch the game, but a little disappointed with the defence.. Clearly wrong way to tackle to messi and gang..

Just keep pressuring their players until a teammate come to get the ball from them mar..

But alot of them static, make 1 challenge and hope for another teammate to get the ball.. sad.gif

if u look at the static, all are equal (before red card)

after red card barca only manages to add another 2 shots on target?

I din watch the full game.. Just highlights.. blush.gif

And I was referring to messi's 2nd goal.. RM definitely has the pace to keep track of him..

I guess its the diff of experience players have.. sad.gif

Hope the squad can keep their heads in the 2nd leg..

Its very unlikely for Mourinho to play this kind of tactic. 3 strikers but none is played. I think his plan is to defend until the last 20min then bring in higuain benzema or adebayor and kaka go for a attacking win. Plan failed I guess. Hasn't mourinho learn from Sir Alex yet.. ronaldo doesn't play well as a striker?
