it is still relevant. don't just read the specs. try the car. now with the new facelift and the pano roof, it really looks good value.

Hmmmm, being a THP owner before (although just a 4 speeder), I've had 3 engine cover changes but that didn't solve the issue. It wasn't until Nasim/Peugeot came up with a oil hose clip that the leak was permanently resolved. Also, some SC made the mistake of putting in too much engine oil and this also causes a leak.

As for the jerk, perhaps your friend's unit has got some issues. A visit to the SC should get it all rectified.

I believe it's about half the price of the current 6 speeders. The earlier 4 speed gearbox uses Peugeot's AL4 which can be jerky at low speeds. The good thing about that GB is that the ATF is much cheaper.

With the new Aisin sourced 6 speed GB, Peugeot had to import the original ATF from Japan to France then send out again. This adds a significant amount to the costing.

is latest speed 308 also face the same engine problem like knocking ? Read that many older 4 speed engine encounter this rather frequent, but dunno latest THP engine encounter this knocking or not.

4-sp VTi about 1k less than 6-sp turbo at that same interval. the VTi also uses the pre-facelift turbo seats which imho looks much nicer than the seat fabric design of the FL turbo.
