Can anyone recommend me a good android mid range phone? Previously i wanted to get the Samsung Galaxy Ace but after i read about all the SOD's lynn users are having i am having doubts.
What are phones that are currently in the market which has a price range of maybe rm900-rm1000 that is stable and reliable?
Are HTC phones good?I am not an android phone user btw.

Basically i want a stable phone with a good price range.SGA is just right at first but after almost everyone has SOD problems i don't this it would be suitable. As for screen size does not matter much.A good camera is a plus and also good resolution. With my budget i know i can't have it all.I was wondering is the Acer liquid metal worth to get?So far that phone is within my budget and also can compare to SGA and might be better since it supports flash and none of the SOD.But i never see anyone use an ACER phone before so i was wondering how reliable is it.I just want a realiable phone that does not lags, hangs just basically dun give me headaches in the run long.

Best advise I can give you is for Android get at leasy 4.2" and above.
So Dell streak is nice but problem a fren face is sometimes to big for the pocket.
Why dont consider Xperia ARC AP at 1750?

Xperia Arc 2.32 Android with Timescape is quite nice.
A well bragging phone and well enough for day to day use.
Optimus 2x is good as dual core but I dont recommend due to 4" screen. Heavy and have some issue with it.

I don't recommend SEX10 as anyone's first Android. The stock UI is laggy, you need to spend some time and effort to tweak it (root, flash, etc). For 1st Android phone, I recommend something popular, easily found, has smooth UI, easy to use, good out-of-the-box experience, etc. HTC phones are the best, but with premium pricing. The next best is probably Ace. Acer and Huawei actually provide best bang for the buck, but they're not so popular, so if you have problems, the community might not be able to help.

second to post above me,
Huawei IDEOS U8800 X5 [around 800-900] / Acer Liquid Metal [around 1k] is probably the best bang for bucks in <1k budget...
preloaded with Android 2.2 with Full Flash support, 3.8"[x5] / 4"[ALM] WVGA screen, the same processor used on Desire Z [800 MHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM 7230 chipset]...
besides, X5 got 2gb/4gb internal storage yo, so its a quite good deal for such low price

yea, u probably cant really c any ppl using these out there...but they do hav supports...
X5 got its home @ XDA...CM7 is developing, oledi can overclocked to 1.8ghz biggrin.gif
ALM got custom rom to 2.3 [if im not wrong]

ALM VS "adios~" X5 http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPho...e2=3519#results

for open source OS like android, community support oso important, so if u wan big community..
get something x10 etc.

Im using stock rom for X10. no issue and lag for me. And 2.3 is coming it should improve the os performance itself.
If user does not know how to update firmware. Just sent to service center. Simple as that.

Screen is too small for me. For Optimus 2x issue please go into the user forum. So far some lagging and yellow tint issue for the phone. Even official Lowyat.net review stated that clearly.
