thanks for the advice , really appreciate it . you think i can get motorola defy for 1.2k ? it's really catching my eye .
ori is about 1.4k~1.5k, AP defy can get below 1.2k
shud consider Samsung Galaxy SL ori dropped to around 1.2k better than galaxy ace[just camera no flash ]

but 2.3 will hopefully be a big change as it removes the mediascape & replaced by the newest Sony Ericsson Android media widgets mayb will bring flash support as well as x10 meets the hardware requirement to has full flash support[correct me if im wrong that it meet the hardware req.]
shit then i want xperia x10 , camera's awesome everything's awesome !
then u just have to wait for the update se always delay/slow update but at least they promise then sure got

1500 + cos for AP can get Galaxy and Incredible S at that price.. summore Galaxy will get gingerbread update later, Incredible S bootroom is locked if im not mistaken. huhu
y not galaxy SL instead? [unless u wan super amoled badly] u can get ori & save some money [around 1.3k~]
yea i heard lots of forumer said IS's bootloader is locked

galaxy S and SL different only the screen? not body recommend me galaxy SL, coz everybody keep saying superAMOLED is far better. let me read abit about SL version first.
super amoled abit blueish in colour but better sunlight legibility & lower battery consume but i like SC-LCD's colour rendering over Super AMOLED & i would prefer ori over AP
btw, SGSL runs on a weaker GPU, smaller internal memory[4GB version], smaller ram & heavier than SGS

to the most of you i will choose arc over SGS/HTC IS
1. becoz camera is quite a priority to me
2. arc got bootloader unlocked soon & now HTC turns to be like SE last time, IS got its bootloader locked well, at least sgs oso got unlocked bootloader
3. arc design is so nice
4. i like the reality display over super amoled of course, SLCD is a big no

How about Nexus S. current AP price for the phone is no much different than the IS and SGS. even DesireS AP set is around that price... the only concern for me is the availability to root the phone to custom room and future upgrade for adroid 2.4 later haha.
torn between many phone. too much choice. no wonder people go for iphone.haha
i would prefer nexus S > sgs/is
GOOGLE nexus S so definitely big community out there, 1st receive new version update oso him [the 1st phone to get 2.3]
but if u include arc, then i take arc camera is a important factor to me, got bootloader unlocked so i oso can do custom thingy
and... HTC IS's bootloader locked.. i dun really like SGS

touchwiz UI, SuperClear LCD display+gorilla glass, 5mp+autofocus+HD video but no flash , divx/xvid video support, videocall camera, android 2.2 +full flash support + multi-touch [i think it can upgrade to 2.3 using SGS official update rite?] unlocked bootloader [so can do custom things ]
se xperia x10 -
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
mediascape+timescape UI [mediascape will be replaced once 2.3 come to x10] 8mp+autofocus+led flash+hd video[he was king cameraphone in android era, replaced by his brother, arc], android 1.6/2.1 [2.3 coming soon, promised by SE, might as well brings full flash support ] but no multi-touch [just 2-point-multi-touch, 2 fingers max on screen], bootloader locked, no videocall camera[only important if u use it], no xvid/divx support[as u watch movie with phone, its quite important, i think]
motorola DEFY -
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
good build quality(water resistant/dustproof) + gorilla glass, 5mp+autofocus+led flash+VGA video, xvid video support[but no divx support], android 2.1+multi-touch+flash lite[2.2+full flash upgrade coming] but no videocall camera[only if u nid] & bootloader locked
u can go underwater recording, swimming & bath with defy[no need what special casing, just take the phone go underwater ]
SGSL vs SGS Super AMOLED is replaced by SuperClear LCD [NOT S-LCD by SONY, 2 total different thing] smaller internal memory [4GB vs SGS's 8/16GB] slightly weaker GPU
EDIT: u edited post huh?

some people like S.AMOLED, some prefer SCLCD due to the colour is more natural & unlike super amoled which is saturated[as u can c the white color is like light blue]
well, Super AMOLED still wins in terms of sunlight legibility & better battery efficiency
AP or ORI is up to u... cuz most people got their phone spoil/repair needed after warranty EXPIRED [if u take good care which is like 3-5 years after u 1st using]

How is it compared to Xperia X8 and HTC Wildfire?
X8 should not be considered due to outdate OS & the screen reso just the same as LG O1
HTC Wildfire wins for having flash support[not full 10.1] in the web browser, Gorilla Glass & HTC Sense UI but as i said, the low screen resolution will limit the choice of apps v2.1, ugradeable to 2.2
LG Optimus One, v2.2, ugradeable to 2.3 better screen resolution & newer OS to date [hence got more apps choice than Wildfire] slightly better proc.. DivX/XviD video support
This post has been edited by adrianccseng: Apr 18 2011, 03:54 PM
Wildfire supports CM7(2.3) so i guess that is another upside of it. The flash support thing can be nulled by using Skyfire anyway. Not worth of mentioning unless you mean full flash 10.1 support. The Higher screen reso on the O1 is an upside because the difference is quite significant.
wildfire official upgradeable to 2.3 oso? eh wad is CM7?
I thought of getting a phone for my son, and at the same time I can have the chance to try out Android phone.
I am quite interest in Sony Ericsson X10 Mini, can anyone tell me what is the market price (roughly, original set)? Does this phone any good if I would like to try out this and that (maybe flashing custom ROM, some modding?)
If X10 Mini isn't any good, can anyone recommend something close to this price range? Do you recommend Samsung? By the way, not really interest in Motorola.
My background: I am totally new to Android but am interest to explore and discover more on this platform. Was a long time Nokia smartphone user, which also flashing hack/flashed custom firmware. Recently jumped ship to iPhone 4 when it released in Malaysia, because my last Nokia N97 disappoint me badly! I hate slow and lagging operation of phone, which N97 does exactly! I saw Sony Ericsson X10 Mini on YouTube and the operation are quite smooth.
Thank you all in advance~
x10 mini ? dropped till like 550~650 [ori] not really recommend u to go for x10 mini
screen small [do u personally tried it? u may find its difficult to type with that small screen], outdate OS [stuck @ 2.1 while now is 2.3/3.0 era]
please state ur budget? if within 1k, can consider to get Acer Liquid Metal, bootloader unlocked hence can do complete custom stuff.. its 3.6" WVGA screen, android 2.2 officially, 800mhz proc [like the Desire Z ones]
