QUOTE(*StarGazer* @ Dec 21 2013, 11:38 AM) I don't think I'm willing to pay 8k for a sink but will definitely re look at this range for a more reasonable price option hahahaha , who knows mayb you willing to spend that much for your dream house But quality wise - franke, kohler , Prestile 500-2k quality & finishing |

QUOTE(sovietmah @ Jan 10 2014, 02:09 PM) Condensation, common for a stainless steel sink when washing with hot water and then left overnight. Or exposed to sun and then left overnight or placed behind a sunshine-exposed brickwall that is west or southwest facing. Baked throughout the day, the air in the sink cabinet heats up like inside oven while the sink cools off fast such that condensation forms. One method is to replace the doors with the type that is louvred so as it equalize temperature inside and outside the sink cabinet. |

all stainless steel sinks will have this problem unless they are coated. However, u only have this problem if u put a lot of ice in ur sink which is rarely. Alternatively, u can get our granite sink which is scratch resistance and wont have condensation problem
For more info and promo, u can check our fb https://www.facebook.com/builders.hardware?flyingspaghettimonster=hl This post has been edited by zheilwane: Jan 30 2014, 09:00 AM |

Anyone heard of this sink? http://www.rieber.de/en/home/item/watersta...48%2C143%2C139/
Am planning to use it in my home. Together with a KWC Luna faucet. When they say granite sink, do they mean pure granite, or granite composite? Cos my understanding is granite can withstand high temperatures, but granite composite may not. Something like solid surface, but mixed with granite chips. So supposing I'm cooking, can I directly pour hot oil into the sink? And will granite sinks have discolourations and staining too? Read some reviews about some granite sinks having hard to clean stains especially the light coloured ones |

Granite sink of course is not 100% pure granite but is very close. It can with stand hot temperature of 100 degrees with no problem. It won't have discolourization. But the draw back is, it cannot withstand strong impact. If you have a heavy pot and drop on it very hard it can crack. Other than that I had been using for 3 years and is still like new

Cos hot oil will definitely have a temperature exceeding 100°c so will it deform the composite material? Also, I've heard that the cheaper made in China sinks do not have discolouration, but after some time, they tend to stain with blackish colour which is hard to scrub off. Is that true? Hmmm...easily cracked? Then I think I'm in trouble. Cos the sink I got has a drainer, and I was planning to use the drainer area as a prep surface if I need to. Without support from underneath, putting excessive pressure on the drainer eg:chopping up a whole chicken might damage it. God forbid if it breaks into two!!!QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Apr 16 2014, 11:08 AM) Wow! Looks pretty neat! The place I got my sink didn't offer that. Otherwise I would definitely have gone for this. But I think the KWC Luna should be ok...KWC had some pretty good reviews. QUOTE(wa1k3r @ Apr 16 2014, 11:47 AM) can i check how to get this type of sink? I think it might be solid surface sink. You can try looking up the DuPont corian website. They do have this kind of sink. My two cents, I'm not keen on that cos if it stains or breaks (though they claim it hardly happens, but hey, who knows right?) then you gotta change the entire toplooks like seamless counter top & sink in one piece thanks! |

Yes china brand is possible to have quality material. The one I bought is Italian brand. Is quite costly but worth the money. Don't chop like chicken on the granite surface, you will regret later. Had a friend who break the surfaces into many pieces. |
