Seems this topic is really quite. I'm interested in IKEA 's sink. You guys have any experience before on it's kitchen sink?

i have Numerar but use for laundry sink. Very deep.

Distinction for Ikea is because of Domsjo or Numerar. The rest same can get others that are deeper (10" min).

Some tight spaced apartments inspiration had installed Numerar sink and hv dishwasher and washing machine side by side. The Atlant sink trap channels the waste from either as it has two receptables to receive the waste pipe of each. All is needed is a Y-split connector to supply water to each appliance. Some appliance like Ariston Aqualtis or a Beko might supply the Y connector free.

I'm looking for a deep sink too... with at least 300mm depth, good for washing big pots, woks etc.. I notice that Ikea claimed Stainless Steel gets rusty easily.. how long have u been using the bowl?  hmm.gif

Don't know if Numerar steel sink are still available in Ikea here although in SG it is still in the catalog. Mine in still ok but with our region's humidity here anything from knifes to pots will tend to rust what more stainless steel kitchen sinks and washing machines. biggrin.gif

The Numerar is a used in the laundry area for hand washed stuff although it is technically a kitchen sink. It's more exposed to laundry detergents then dishwashing ones. biggrin.gif

Apart from the Numerar, sinks as deeper than 300mm are rare. Deep sinks to me means anything greater than 200mm (8") so it's more common to see 8"-10" (200-250mm) deep sinks than 300mm.

For woks, don't know if you'd prefer single bowled sink for 60cm (Rubine), 70-80cm or even more than 80cm.

Can consider Tora iSink or similarly sized ones. Bigbath carries them I think.

This is common if you throw lot of ice into your sink.
*
Condensation, common for a stainless steel sink when washing with hot water and then left overnight. Or exposed to sun and then left overnight or placed behind a sunshine-exposed brickwall that is west or southwest facing. Baked throughout the day, the air in the sink cabinet heats up like inside oven while the sink cools off fast such that condensation forms.

One method is to replace the doors with the type that is louvred so as it equalize temperature inside and outside the sink cabinet.

undermount ppl cannot see the silicon mar..its there and even when it turns moldy its underneath...if top mount it quite visible no?
*
Like or don't like still need to apply it. But... silicon has three types and it's crucial the installers know which one to use. Acid curing, neutral curing or alkali curing. Using the wrong type esp on stainless steel ones can cause it to rust prematurely. Acid curing releases acetic acid fumes. Most shower or bath area recommends neutral curing silicone.

Undernoubt ppl don't stick their head to the sink and peek ma. The opening of the table top qlso slightly smaller than the sink thus hiding it

So for kitchen sink use what type?  I read the soap, dampness is the main cause
*
Neutral cure silicone caulk. Google it. Soap mostly alkali so doubt it but leaving curry stains on it too long can hasten the rust process.

OK, here's a good read-up on silicone caulks wrt choosing the right one for ceramic or stainless steel sinks.

HCE granite sink is about the same price as well depending on which tap you are selecting. I was told my HCE that their new Granite Sink series are using the same material as blanco, hence easier to maintain and smoother surface.
I am using the old HCE model and i think it is OK. Just something to share, most of my customers will ask for a deep sink about 250mm as they say the deeper the sink, the better as water wont splash. Actually it is not true, most importantly your sink's bowl size is big enough to fit in your wok. As per my photo, the depth is only 190mm and i feel it is OK, at least i dont have to bend down extra 60mm to wash my wok or to take up my plates for.

Usually when we wash our plates, we will not bend all the way down to the bottom of the sink to wash, it will definite hurt our backs if we do so. We usually stand straight or bend a little and wash above the sink. Therefore, no point having a deep sink as the water splashes on the plate not sink.

THe new HCE granite sink size is not the same as the one i m using now as i m using an old model.

Bro zheilwane, the wok HCE granite sink what size is that? I love the idea of sinks that can neatly accommodate plonking a wok straight in. Real eye opener in the case the one you showed.

breadth 380mm at the top for the chopping board, so inner bowl gonna be 360mm +- which is kinda small, measure with your house pots/woks and c whether the size is suitable for you or not smile.gif

As we notice most kitchen sinks do have this issue, we came out with an extra large inner bowl sink design, this is the maximum breadth suitable for a standard table top size of 600mm. Detail measurements can only be given for walk in customers but this is definitely able to fit standard table top size

This design is only available in Builders Hardware as we get HCE to customize & manufacture for us

Excellente bro zheilwane! Does it fit a wok that's 43cm rim to rim excluding handles which can be turned sideways.

from a user after spending so much in designing my kitchen, my advice to you
1. never go for double bowl, buy a large single bowl
2. dont go for fix faucet, 1 or 2 tap is also not efficient when it comes to cleaning the sink edge; and it looks ugly.. go for those pull out tap...

I'd like to add on what you said also...undermount type if possible. If sink countertops could be designed such that at the perimeter slope slightly downwards into the sink from the backsplash it would be an added plus. Self draining.
