I am not planning to do that weird trick either. I am happy with button lights on when I'm using the device. Looks great too.

Frankly speaking, despite flashed to Ginger already, it's still not as responsive and smooth as the Nexus S (AOSP) I tried.

Could it be ours were bloated with Samsung stuff?

I'm still feeling the lacked of response on buttons when I touched it. Could it be my screen protector? Last time I start to feel it on Froyo was I thought it was the lag, so most of the time I have to press twice on accessing items from notification bar. Now also can feel that. sweat.gif

Is it the early lags? means that when you want to use the phone the first time from screen off, you feel some jerks or lags swiping screens, opening apps, etc? But after 3 secs, everything is smooth again..

Not the booting up lag. Left the phone on overnight, but in Flight mode.

It's the already warmed up use kind of lag. It just not like the Nexus S that I felt. Lacked of responsiveness.

Any1 can figure me, how to download CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v2.6-CWM3RFS.zip inside http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...150&postcount=5
Bcos when i clicked on it, it will pop up the msg :
New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums.

I wanna post someting to achieve that '10 posts target' but still get the same msg when i trying to post, may Sifus here help me? smile.gif

I think nexus s running on ext4 fs. SGS gingerbread is still on RFS fs. I like to blame on RFS for the lags.... laugh.gif

The only trick for me to keep Ginger JVK fast and long lasting battery is by using AutoKiller app and set to Optimum or Strict.. and ext4 lagfix of course smile.gif

u're welcome.  smile.gif it's soo smooth right? hehehe to get the animation, u need to root first. i suggest u use this, the cf-root by chainfire, just download the JVK one ( i use the 2.5) and straight away flash with odin w/out rpartition tick and no pit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...150&postcount=5

then u choose the zip for the animation one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=125

good luck.  nod.gif
