Was fortunate enough to play with Nexus S on Ginger for a while just now.
Impression: very good. The response and smoothness was beyond comprehension compared to my Speedmod patched SGS1. Looking forward to Gingerbread. BTW, Nexus S' FS is EXT4? On a 2nd note, it no longer sync FB calendar on Gingerbread. Seems like everyone waiting for the upgrade. |

QUOTE(noobie1 @ Mar 29 2011, 07:38 PM) The unit I tested was "imported" from US. Could be the kernel version difference?Too bad, I didn't remember the version #. But really feel smooth and responsive. Like how I press the Menu button on homescreen, the menu pops up immediately, while mine sorta lag around 200-300ms. Added on March 29, 2011, 8:02 pm QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 29 2011, 07:48 PM) yup, probably google coaxed samsung into using superior ext4 fle system. fb contact sync is actually breaking android terms of usage. thus, it is disabled. not sure about calendar sync. So, no more viewing friend's FB activities from the contact list?Luckily I can still live with that. Just 1 thing less to show off to iOS users. I have always wanted to try AR games every since I saw an nVidia demo video of a mobile AR game.
This is close, but not as good as 1 found on Nintendo 3DS where it uses a card. nVidia's better, can use Smarties as bombs! lol https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.co...e=search_result Hope the game would come to Android http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNu4CluFOcw |

I got some error message when it's installing on phone.
faile to mount /dbdata then Data wipe failed. Is it because I was on Speedmod ext4 earlier? EDIT: manually did a wipe at the 3e recovery. Managed to boot into phone. Now attempting CF-ROOT as per the instruction. I noticed this ROOT version has most download clicks compared to the rest in the list. lol. QUOTE(badSeed @ Mar 30 2011, 11:08 PM) hey guys, Wait for Galaxy S2 if you want to play it safe. I think that one won't be haunted with GPS problems. Otherwise, how about Nexus S? i want to buy sgs but one thing concern me is the gps, last i read sgs have issues with gps, has it been solved with froyo? sory if it has been brought up before, 39pages for v15 alone... |

New screencapture is nice. Even if can't hear the sound, got animation to confirm the capture. But... are you kidding me??? Where's XME???
And also in there 1 missing item in USB mode, aside from the usual Kies, Media and Storage. There was 1 "Ask upon connection" in Froyo, if I'm not mistaken, right? This post has been edited by Harddisk: Mar 30 2011, 11:39 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

Oh dang, now only I realised this leaked ROM doesn't have the CRT phone lock animation. It looked soooo much like Froyo only.

QUOTE(Joker87 @ Mar 31 2011, 01:34 AM) Thanks! I'm really at lost in XDA forum.Google gave me SGS2 thread, but there's no link to download anything. Searched other posts as well, which refered me to DROID X. lol EDIT: On a side note, Samsung's Push Email app no longer listed in SamsungApp. This post has been edited by Harddisk: Mar 31 2011, 09:54 AM |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Mar 31 2011, 08:49 AM) The CSC is not DX region. There won't be XME. Use XEU if you don't want to be the weird KOR Didn't set my region, just leave it as is. So now I'm a KOR-ean? lolAdded on March 31, 2011, 8:54 amSeems the guys from 4pda.ru have found a way to get rid of backlights always on when screen on. I haven't tried myself but if anyone wants to try here is how. 1. Flash speedmod_kernel_k13d_ 500hz.tar in Odin, but untick auto-reboot. 2. Remove battery.Put battery back in. 3. Go to CWM recovery and choose reboot. 4. Wait!!! about 1 minute!!!! after you see Samsung logo. Remove battery. Install battery back. 5. Flash in Odin original JVK kernel with auto-reboot ticked. Can flash any kernel, including Hacked by Voodoo, actually. Done. A little strange method but it works based on comments on 4pda.ru Russian: 4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=222559&st=1501 *From XDA What does it mean by getting rid of backlights always on when screen on? Making our screen darker with that flash? And that's a weird way to flash by pulling out battery when booting halfway. |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Mar 31 2011, 09:58 AM) The stock Email app of Gingerbread has improved vastly for Exchange support. Almost no reason to use Samsung Push Mail app. I need mainly for my Yahoo and Hotmail. No access to Exchange server. Added on March 31, 2011, 10:02 am QUOTE(mengsuan @ Mar 31 2011, 10:00 AM) Getting rid of button lights. In GB, the button lights are designed to turn on permanently as long as screen is on. Oh... then I'll leave it as it is then. Needed the lights there when using the phone with lights off. Sometimes play games until phone upside down also tak tau.
