eh, how to set custom ringtone for gingerbread 2.3.3

i also got FC on certain apps on XWJVK after restore using MyBackup Pro.. but after uninstall then reinstall, it solves the problem.. i can use Spare Parts, Guerrilla Bros, PES2011, Handset SMS etc.. no FC on any app at all

wahhh the battery not draining so fast anymore with xxjvk. and the crt screen off animation is really cool! the UI also really really smooth like custom rom, so amazed by this rom tho. thanks to everyone who helped and to our TS gmhafiz of course.

i saw engadget and gsmarena said it's gonna be in market in this week, look like it was faster than this week, coz my gf got it this morning..

go to ur ringtone and long press it to set to ringtone?

dude, for the turbo ginger, do u got also the CWM recovery like the cf-root?

edit : i just found out that my micro sd got about 15 files in Lost.Dir and luckily when i delete them and reboot back, the files all gone. so afraid for the data corruption tho. btw, anyone got file in internal sd "Disc Cache-Index bla bla bla"?

Yea. Restoring everything from Titanum Backup seems to be the problem. I restore apps+data and it seems that some old settings are not compatible with Gingerbread and cause the FCs.

The CSC is not DX region. There won't be XME. Use XEU if you don't want to be the weird KOR

Added on March 31, 2011, 8:54 amSeems the guys from 4pda.ru have found a way to get rid of backlights always on when screen on. I haven't tried myself but if anyone wants to try here is how.


1. Flash speedmod_kernel_k13d_
500hz.tar in Odin, but untick auto-reboot.
2. Remove battery.Put battery back in.
3. Go to CWM recovery and choose reboot.
4. Wait!!! about 1 minute!!!! after you see Samsung logo. Remove battery. Install battery back.
5. Flash in Odin original JVK kernel with auto-reboot ticked. Can flash any kernel, including Hacked by Voodoo, actually.

Done. A little strange method but it works based on comments on 4pda.ru

u're welcome. it's soo smooth right? hehehe to get the animation, u need to root first. i suggest u use this, the cf-root by chainfire, just download the JVK one ( i use the 2.5) and straight away flash with odin w/out rpartition tick and no pit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...150&postcount=5

i'm trying using the Root explorer and it force closes too. and i dunno if it happens to u guys, but just now my phone suddenly go to power off menu and luckily it doesnt shut down itself. i can say the task killer in JVK really aggressive maybe.

The stock Email app of Gingerbread has improved vastly for Exchange support. Almost no reason to use Samsung Push Mail app.

Didn't set my region, just leave it as is. So now I'm a KOR-ean? lol

What does it mean by getting rid of backlights always on when screen on? Making our screen darker with that flash? And that's a weird way to flash by pulling out battery when booting halfway.

Getting rid of button lights. In GB, the button lights are designed to turn on permanently as long as screen is on.

I need mainly for my Yahoo and Hotmail. No access to Exchange server.

Needed the lights there when using the phone with lights off. Sometimes play games until phone upside down also tak tau.
