So i was browsing around taobao until i found something weird

I thought iOne Scorpius M10 was all cherry mx blue or black only right?? But wait wtf is this??

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=4311908000 <== ????Alps white???

the ione scorpius we are used to seeing

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=9840693106 <== Blue switches
*
ALPS, ughh
I've had enough ALPS for now

Got a AT101W with Black ALPS that is full of dust. Makes the keys gritty, high friction, not really nice for typing. Need more work taking out each ALPS switch and grease them. Taking the switches apart is more troublesome than desoldering the whole keyboard

My mom found a Green ALPS NTC keyboard in her office storage, nobody wants it so she took it back. It was non-tactile, non clicky, but the activation point is very early, making it double tapping very easy without me attempting to double tap on it.

A lot of work cleaning them up and applying retrobright but they are not the best keyboards to type on.

The noppoo pro v2 really looks sexy. And it looks very SS7G alike(the top right part), may be can fit into the SS7G wrist rest. icon_idea.gif

BTW, LOL at the part that they bashing the Razer BW for not having USB NKRO... Even PS/2 NKRO should do the job. whistling.gif

P/S: Noppoo白轴电容?!?!?! A capacitive/tin foil switch from noppoo.

now i am undecided should i get a mech keyboard for my office. I really like to type on my ducky brown but at work the keyboard i use have dedicated keys for cut/copy/paste/word/excel/ send/reply/fwd mail etc which are very convenient to use, but the down side is that now that i am used to ducky brown i hate typing on that keyboard...

those are actually for market usage(you can see the credit card swipe there)

these keyboards are not suppose to be own by individuals and can only own by company/enterprise.

if you manage to contact cherry and ask them about it, they will inform you that you are not suppose to own such product. but as always shop always "Eh-hem sell them" thru some blabla connection, it's still widely available.

In that case, it's not about the keyboards but the keycaps. The SS6Gv2/7G is known to have keycaps that yellow relatively fast compared to the other keyboards, and the Razer BW's keycaps has a rubberized coating surface, meaning that after some time of usage, the rubber coating will "peel off". I would suggest you to get Filco, PLU or Ducky (I assume they are the ones that are easier to get than the others) and request for laser-etched keycaps. Or even better, order doubleshots.

If you are not looking for mechanical keyboard, you can try Razer Lycosa mirror edition.

can u plug out the buttons of a mechanical keyboard using bare fingers? i am so scared that i will damage the switch.

user posted image

ps: used ruler to plug out the razer bw buttons. i noticed under the buttons there are some wear off/ cracks eventhough i seldom press them since they are macro buttons.

anything with Laser etch, engraved, dye sub, double shot, will never get come off for a long period of time(unless your finger is sand paper, then i'm speechless)

For Alphabet lifespan.
Dye Sub (this have will have to depend on how deep the dye is, if it's not deep, expect those to last for a very short time. Depends On Manufacturer)
Laser etch (will become yellowish after certain period of time, but alphabet will take a very very long time to come off)
Engraved (last forever)
Double Shot (Last forever)

Filco keycap is also Pad Printed(ABS Material) with Coating on all of the keycap, they will definitely last longer than Razer but they will still "peel off" after certain period of time.

Ducky is also Pad Printed(ABS Material),

PLU i think they are laser etch which last very long, btw POM Material is very expensive, best bang for buck!?

Engraved, Blank, Doubleshot, Side Printed keycap FTW!!

Black on Black is actually silk screen pad printed method =X
