If you get the otaku, then I'll have to sell off my 2 days old Ducky 1008 to afford that.
This mech keyboard business is poisonous.

@cyclone, the banner at the 1st post will be good until you start selling them leopolds.
After that the mods will probably construe it as you trying to promote your sales in non sales thread.

Just a heads-up

Do add me to list for duckies
CODE
[*][color=green]Kaiserreich[/color] - Ducky DK-1008L ( Cherry Mx brown )

Just realized since I got this keyboard that I am more prone to type things out that just do the ctrl+c ctrl+v combo, for some of my work

Those keycaps are Ducky Black on black Keycaps and White on white keycaps. So Leopold doesn't have them.
Currently my plan is getting a otaku version, and then purchase black on black PBT Keycaps 37 alphabet+Direction key from KBC Forum.(Should be under RM50)

Yo! Im kinda new to mech keyboards. Whats the cheapest 1's with blue switches cus i just love the clicky sound LOL! so far i only encountered the razer BW. and it seems there's problem with it 0.0
*
If you want alternatives to BW, then try to go PCHOME and check out the duckies. The 1008 series has a pricing that competes with the BW including the shipping
http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=store&fun..._NO=DCAH22&tm=u

The one with the big enter key is RM260 including shipping
Ducky 1008 Big enter a.k.a 1008L Cherry MX blue
http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...22&ROWNO=5&tm=u

Or you could get the 9008, though this is prolly around the price of the BWU, but it comes with the standard keycaps and free Black on Black keycaps as well

If you don't read Chinese, Ripster at GeekHack has made a good guide on navigating around the PcHome website

Get a Maybankard Debit Card or something and link it to your paypal. Works seamlessly.
If you want to play it safe, then get the type of Debit Card where you need to load money into it before you can use it, such as the CIMB Debit Card which does not charge anything for reloads and what not.

Otherwise, RHB savings account can be linked to your Paypal account, but I am not sure how that works actually.

I don't like the layout for the Big Enter Keys. Did not realize I order the Big Enter Key layout until the keyboard arrived at KLIA.
Too bad you weren't looking for MX Brown switches. If you were, I would have gladly offer to sell you my few days old 1008 for a special price. brows.gif

QUOTE(DaRKMiSt @ Mar 21 2011, 10:45 PM)
Both are excellent keyboards from what I can gather, though if I recall correctly, Moogle mentioned that the 9008 is better than the FILCO due to the stabilizers used for the keys in Geekhack. Can Moogle verify this?

Buying locally(as in Taiwan Local)?
If want to ship it here, need to go to the global site.

What's the 雷射雕刻鍵帽?

http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=4&tm=u

What is the difference between these two (in terms of keycaps)?

http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=3&tm=u

Which one is double shot?
*
雷射雕刻鍵帽 means laser etched. No double shots for Ducky's
They are pad printed.

The only difference I can see is the layout. One is ANSI, one is Chinese ISO (big Enter key)

Which means the keys letter will be easily teared out?
So getting the laser etched one is better?
*
My mistake, I am not very sure whether they are laser etched or pad printed.
Pad printed are like normal keyboards, the membrane types.

My big enter key keyboard, although it does not say laser etched, the labels on the box does say it is laser etched.

You can get the extra PBT keycaps with english/chinese/blanks from taobao/PCHOME
or PBT engraved keycaps from taobao, and imsto in Geekhack. Imsto has a store in taobao and ships internationally.

sup mech kb lovers. i'm new to this stuff and i'm planning on getting my 1st mech kb. when looking into steelseries, i found out that you guys keep discussing about leopold and filco. hmm.gif  so i was wondering if someone would tell me the price for cherry browns and reds for filco and leopold. i type alot and i play games of different genres, rts, fps, rpg etc. can u guys help me?  notworthy.gif
*
For typing and gaming combination, generally recommended to go for MX brown switches.
Steelseries are MX black switches, which likely is not good more long periods of typing, for most people anyways.

Edifier is going to bring in FILCO's soon, Cyclonechuah is bringing in Leopolds, focusing on MX red switches, which is like a lighter MX black switch.
From what I can get from Geekhack, typing on MX Reds is like typing on clouds of b00bies brows.gif

If you are looking to buy Mech Keyboards, currently locally available are the Steelseries and the Razer BW
For Foreign ordered, you can try Taobao, or PCHOME
Link to keyboards with Duck sauce
Add shipping at $10 and you get your keyboard, use a exchange rate converter, or for quick conversion, divide the price by 10, then add Rm40~ that is agak agak the price that you are going to pay

QUOTE(Intelian @ Mar 22 2011, 07:31 PM)
After watching the GIF on page 1, i am conflicted between Brown and Red switches...

I cannot find Filco keyboards at global.pchome....

can anyone show me the link?

thanks
*
No Filcos at global.pchome.
DK9008s are a fine alternative to FILCOs

Been reading much on more tactile brown switches, that is the Cherry clears.
Does anyone has any experience with it?

have you tried the cherry browns? clears are like browns in terms of noise level, but they have a more prominent bump at the halfpoint. it's more like the blue without the high-pitched sound.
*
Yes I have tried cherry browns.
Looks like clears might be the switch I am looking for, though i really want to research everything nicely before making a purchase.

I read too that Clears are rather stiff, almost like Blacks? I have never tried blacks before.
My primary usage is for typing. Would typing long time on clears tire the fingers easily?

Filcos will SOON be in malaysia
If you want it now, try lelong, or armygroup Taiwan

Otherwise, Duckies get from global.pchome. Ships rather fast

However, most clears switch users like clears. Some also claimed that it is not as tire as black to type on.

This is among the most famous and valuable clear board(clear switch just EOL this year so better stock it up while you can). With double shots keycaps, extra keys, relegendable keycaps, touchpad and others, it worth pretty much every penny(if only you can find ppl to help you post to Malaysia... sweat.gif ,cheaper).

I could probably use vPOST service, but in total, that would come up about 70USD, unless someone wants to join me to get this as well.
There is a Clear switch in PCHOME, but that one is rather the expensive.

As I can afford only 1 keyboard right now, I find it hard to choose between a Clear, either from ebay or PCHOME for the G80-3000, or wait for the leopold with a blue switch, with rumoured free blank keycaps. Choices and choices, this is hard, especially when you never tried any clears or blues before.

Maybe you are willing to let me try your clear and/or blues drool.gif

Blacks seems to be the favored switch among FPS players.

Holy smokes. The Red is really sensitive. I dont think I have pressed more than half and its already registering. Fuyoo. Also I am so poisoned by this.

You need to set your volume to a proper (pretty subjective) level before you can tell whether it is noisy or not.
Alternative is to head to PC Fair and test out the stuff

You do not want Reds for typing. Sure they are keyboards and you can type on them, but Reds is not the switch to go to if you mainly use it for typing

Casing build, extra media keys for the 9xxx, and if I'm not wrong, the stablizers for the 9xxx are better
